They sell expired candy and still have the same looking selection stuff from over 10 yrs ago plus there's not much of a big selection of party supplies to choose from. There prices are a lil high for same old products. I understand that prices went up in the economy , but at least maybe a bigger selection of party decor. Too bad cause I use to shop here for all my go too party needs when my kids were younger an I was looking forward to shopping here again for my new grandkids party. Back in the days it was easier for me to get everything here and it saved me a trip to the alleys in dtla. But hey don't let my let down experience stop you. I had some giant mylar balloons that were deflated. I went t to BJs to get them refilled. It costs me about $3 per balloon. They gave me a little discount because the balloons were not fully deflated. I bought my balloons at Party City and they were a lot more expensive there. First time we rented from them was 5 years ago (tables, chairs, linens). We've been using them since then. We used to go to DTLA for piñatas but we have no reason to drive all the way out there. We've gotten piñatas from BJ in store and we've also pre-ordered custom piñatas (give at least 2 weeks notice for those). Great service and fair prices. If I could give this place 10 stars I would ! First let me start off by saying I was planning my daughters 4th bday. I first talked to another party rental place. I placed my order for a bouncer and tables and chairs . They called me 2 days before my daughters birthday party and canceled because of rain that was starting at 9 pm . I started looking around and found BJ's ! It was a blessing in disguise. The lady at the register so nice and very helpful . She told me I was still able to rent a bouncer even if it rained . take in mind I was so sad and worried about that , because that's why the other place canceled. I thought we weren't going to be able to . But BJ's saved the day ! The lady Answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. Not only is their customer service AMAZING but so are their prices ! Their equipment was nice and clean and the delivery and pick up were fast .This will be the only party rental place we will be using from now on . This place is awesome!!!!!!!!! I've rented a ninja turtle picture prop from them years ago which was so cool. Recently on Thanksgiving day we needed tables and chairs last minute, we drove here and thank God they were open and had what we needed. Their prices are the BEST, no other rental place will beat their prices! The staff was super nice from front counter to the gentlemen loading up our car. Rented tables and chairs here a few times, never had a problem. Good prices and decent rental equipment. Pretty good piñata selection too. However... I rented some stuff for an event and brought it back on the following day at 7:40pm. They close at 8pm. The warehouse guy came out and with a very rude and confrontational tone.... Him : you're late bro! Me : but you guys close at 8? Him : yeah but we start shutting down the warehouse at 730 Me : well... i didn't know that Him : well this is the last time man cuz now I gotta put all these away still I'm thinking... what is with this guy? It was 1 table and 10 chairs. Took like 60 seconds to get out of my car. I get if you're having a bad day or something but if you're tripping cuz you don't get to go home exactly at 8 like you thought... welcome to the overtime life brother. Many of us live it. Myself included. You can't talk to or treat paying customers that way. I come here every time I need a pinata. For my son's first birthday they customized a Yo Gabba Gabba pinata before the show was popular and there absolutely NO pinatas of any of the characters anywhere, and it came out great. For my son's second birthday I went to another place and was so disappointed that I went here last minute and found exactly what I needed! This past birthday was his big Avengers party, I went in with a photo I wanted them to customize, but I walked in and saw a very neat Thor pinata and I had to have it. It was a little more pricey but when the kids saw it they laughed cause it was like a mini Thor, though my son said it looked like a girl haha. It was really hard for the kids to break which was also funny to watch. Very much worth the $$. But I liked it, and I will continue to go here every time I need a pinata. Only downside is that they no longer rent helium tanks :( and that place is kind of dusty. Really no other reason to go but for the pinatas. read more

Bjs Party Supplies is the my favorite place for all things party. I've been renting their stuff and utilizing their services for 2 years now. I've rented the mini jumper twice, a 15x20 canopy for a company party, purchased 2 piñatas ( one was custom made) and I get balloons inflated with them all the time. I wish I had a picture of the custom piñata but I guarantee they made it look exactly like the picture I showed them for reference. They were able to help me with a canopy for a company party that I was assigned to plan on SUPER short notice. They delivered and set up the canopy while it rained. I was looking for a super last minute solution to get chairs for Thanksgiving dinner and BJ was it! On a whim, I did a quick Yelp search for chair rentals and I happened to be a few minutes for BJ Party Supplies! I called and the staff were very polite and accommodating to my small rental need. Thankfully, they allowed rental pick up (other places I had checked required delivery and pick up $$). On arrival, I noticed their parking is very limited and they are on a busy one-way street. I pulled in the best I could and was immediately helped at the front register. The employee was very polite and recalled my phone call. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, including signing a contract and having an employee load chairs into my car. You will be required to leave a cash/credit deposit, but it is resolved as soon as you turn in the rentals. Drop off was just as easy and staff was equally pleasant. DON'T EVER BUY ONE OF THESE STAR-SHAPED PIÑATAS unless you're looking for decore and not functionality! I drive by this place all the time, and when I needed a piñata, this was a logical choice. It was cheaper than most places I googled... now I know why. (They didn't have the design that I wanted, so I did glue a different balloon on to the front, but there's no way that should affect the quality!) While the piñata was definitely durable... we couldn't break it! After 10 kids each went at it 3 times each, the adults took their turns too, to no avail! We had to rip the thing apart! And there were soooo many heavy-duty staples in it, I tore up my finger with one, and had to go to urgent care the next day to stitch up my finger! And the rest of the items I purchased... candy, balloons, plates... all cheaper at the chain stores! Bought some large letter and number balloons here for a party because Party City was closed. Plus I didn't want to pay Party City prices (the prices on their balloons is pretty expensive as isa lot of their stuff). So I looked on yelp for these large letter and number balloons and found them here. Bit hard to find, parking a bit tough. Super super super polite service though and good cost too. These are 3 foot high balloons inflated for $8 each if I recall. Why 4 stars and not 5? Most of the time for party shopping I am more of a browser. So if you're like me, if you're shopping for a party, the selection itself is not super. At least not in the store. Not like Party City. This isn't necessarily somewhere you would browse for ideas for a party. Party City pretty much has people beat on that. That said if you do know what you want, call them. Service is super awesome and prices are great! Oh yeah: while browsing, I saw a lot of rental stuff there too (tables, displays, etc..) and I definitely would call them next time I need some party rentals to see what they have to offer and their prices. read more

I have retired now and live quite a ways away, but when I needed a helium tank, this was the first place I thought of. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is wonderful. I rented a helium tank and was supposed to return it the following day. To make a long story short, Daylight Savings Time, lost an hour, overslept...you get the picture. I asked if I could keep it an extra day and they said yes! The only drag is that there is NO parking, but it's actually worth it because they have everything. read more
