We bought 3 new tvs from Bjorns and had them wall mounted. We have been more than pleased. Their workmanship was excellent. My husband has hearing issues and so in our family room, they installed earphones that allow my husband to hear the conversation without blasting me out of the room!!! I was very happy with the price!! They did magnificent work for a very fair price. We are not good with electronics. Bjorn's did not try to oversell, rather they helped us find reasonably priced televisions that would serve our needs. I am so glad that we called them and I will use them from now on! read more

I intended to make several audio/video purchases for my new home. I knew from experience that I did not want to go to one of the big box stores for their lack of service and knowledge. I went to Bjorn's to research and had a very helpful salesman provide me the information I was looking for. I was about 30 days away from purchasing so I took his business card and left. When I was prepared to purchase, I found that he no longer worked there and began working with Eric. I liked Eric's personality and his knowledge and helpfulness were very good. I purchased 4 flat screen tv's including a Panasonic 65" Plasma 3D and a Bose home theater system. My total was around $6,500. I requested one tv to be mounted in my bedroom on the wall. All other tv's and theater system were delivered the next day. I was told I would be called once their installers set up an appointment. I was having an alarm company rep speaking to me when Bjorn's showed up. Their delivery men were shown were to set up the systems (only had to tell them once) and they went about their business setting up quietly so that I could continue my transactions with the alarm company rep. After they were done they showed me how to use all of my new equipment, thanked me and left. That left just the one tv and mount to be installed. Yahoo!! That's why I chose Bjorn's....for the service. But wait.... After a week, I called the sales rep, Eric, and informed him I never received a scheduled appointment for the install. He apologized and said he would call me right back. Twenty-four hours later and no call, I called and asked for the store manager, Neil. Within minutes, Eric was calling with a scheduled time and stated that he had tried my work number (which I had listed as a secondary number) and couldn't receive an answer? My scheduled appointment was between the hours of 3:00 PM - and 4:00 PM. At 4:15 PM, I once again called Eric to find out where the installers were. He told me he would find out and call me right back. He didn't, but the installer called me at 4:20 and stated he wanted to give me a "heads-up" call that they were running late. Really? A heads-up call after the scheduled appointment time? He then stated that they would be finishing this job in 15-20 minutes. It was on the other side of town but he would call as soon as they were on their way. Guess what? You guessed it, he never called. I called the store manager, Neil, at 5:45 PM! He then immediately arranged for someone to get to my house ASAP! They show up and find that the salesman ordered the wrong mount. So they had to go meet the salesman somewhere to get the new mount. Which, of course, added another 30-45 minutes. All of the installers were very pleasant. I would not have wanted to be in their shoes as I was a VERY UNHAPPY customer by the time of their arrival. I managed to remain civil and they did a great job of installing the tv. As I explained to Neil, I chose Bjorn's so that I could enjoy a higher level of service. Bjorn's failed miserably. I could have easily chosen other audio/video stores, but I chose Bjorn's. Not so sure I ever would again! read more

I bought a really nice Aiwa system in 1982 and it STILL WORKS. All of it. The record player that ejects the disk on a tray from the top, the tape player, the radio. All of it. And when I bought it at Bjorn's it was the most expensive object I owned. Fine, my mother bought it for me, but I credit Bjorn's for making that experience last a lifetime. read more

Their customer service is terrible! I had my media room done at Bjorns about a year ago. We purchased the warranty just in case something happened since everything was so expensive. We called weeks ago to get someone to come out and still have not received a call from them! They make sure to take your money for the warranty, but then never fix the issue or even return a call. I would never purchase from them again due to the horrible customer service. read more

Stopped in to check out their televisions after visiting 2 other places. The first thing I noticed was the higher prices. Some TVs not so much, but some as much as $350 more than the other places I visited. The real turn-off, however, was the service. They were quick to ask if I needed assistance, but the salesman that helped me wasn't very tech savvy. I had been doing my research on LCD and plasma and wanted to find the best TV for what I wanted. When I asked about certain specifics, it was easy to figure out that he really had no idea what I was talking about. And what's worse is he tried to hide behind his lack of knowledge by telling me that those specifics were not important anyway. Also got the feeling that he wasn't really listening anyway as he frequently interrupted our conversation with glances at another couple down the aisle. I happily freed him from his obligation to us and left the store. Feel like this store could do better, but I won't be returning. read more

I asked the sales rep for help with a wireless system and I needed a quick brief to get up to speed with technology. Right away he takes me to the top SONOS section where he proceeded to speak greek as I did not understand a lot and asked him a lot of questions which frustrated him. Then I asked to see the traditional wired speakers and as he quietly walked over to show me, he mentioned how he could have someone come out to the house and check for best setup. I said sure let's do it. Once at the counter he then decided to tell me it would be 100.00 nonrefundable unless I bought then it could be applied to the cost...lol Nice try salesman!!! I advised him Best buy does the same service for free. He leaned into me over the counter and said, "yeah...good luck".. Guess he didn't need that commission after all!! read more

In 2007 my wife and I bought a 61 inch LED DLP made by samsung. The salesperson convinced us that we should get the extended warranty, which we did, and it was delivered at the end of that week. Fast forward four and a half years later, the TV started having the white dot issue that is inherent to the samsung dlp tvs. I called Bjorn's, not remembering my warranty details and they called me back saying that it was still under warranty and they will have someone drive out to North Austin to fix it. Ziegfried the tech was highly professional, he fixed my DMD chip, and saw that my capacitors were close to popping, and fixed the power supply as well! I don't care that I live hours away, next time I buy a TV I'm driving back to San Antonio to visit Bjorn's! read more

Husband is shopping for a new 4K projector to replace older 1080p projector for our home theatre and went here to look around. Was not even greeted by sales staff and store was pretty empty with salesmen just standing around. Will be taking our business elsewhere. Can't stand businesses that aren't even polite enough to say "Hello, let us know if you have any questions". He was there for over a half hour. read more

I took my barely out of warranty (2 mo.s) 47" Toshiba LCD flat screen to them for repair. The TV was frequently freezing the picture and the sound. They charged me the fee and told me that they couldn't duplicate the problem and that if it was how I described it, then it was most likely the processor. I don't think they tested it at all as this problem occurs very frequently. They then advised me that it would be cheaper to replace if it was the processor. I asked them to contact the manufacturers rep, which they agreed to, but never followed through. Not very good service. read more

Bjorn's is great! We purchased a nice Definitive sound system for our living room from Bjorn's last year. The shopping experience was great. Very knowledgeable associates and good products/ prices. Last night, my husband and I rented Inception and blew out a speaker (Darn you Leo!!) Anyhoo, we were very bummed and thought we were going to have to shell out several hundred dollars to replace the speaker. My husband took it in today and Bjorns is repairing it for free!!! I can't believe the ease of the warranty with Bjorns. You just don't get this kind of service from a big chain. I highly recommend Bjorns. read more

We have shopped at Bjorn's for over 30-years and have always had a pleasant shopping experience. The sales staff is very knowledgeable of the products on display without pushing to sell any particular brand. We recently decided to replace our 13-year old HDTV, but before making a purchase we researched the differences of the current display technologies. We visited Bjorn's once we settled on one technology and the models from two manufacturers we wanted to audition. John Garza, sales rep at Bjorn's had previously helped us with prior purchases and he helped us with our current purchase. But before John was able to assist us, Kevin, another sales rep, approached us to answer any questions about the displays we were viewing as a courtesy while John was busy with another customer. Kevin provided us with helpful information we previously didn't know. John indulged us by demonstrating the displays of two comparable UHDTV models from the two manufacturers we had interest. He took the time to make sure that the video settings were identical on both models so as to make a true comparison. He, also, adjusted the room lighting from bright to dark. We spent quite a long time comparing different images and asking questions about the two models. Both displays looked great, but we decided on the one we felt provided the most pleasant viewing experience. John followed up with our purchase by mailing us a thank you card and with a phone call to find out how the display looks. He wanted to let us know we can call him anytime if we have any questions. Called Bjorns on Wednesday (3/23/16) to come out to my work and quote us for a new projector and screen for one of our portables (and a few others) Talked to a Gentleman who said he would call me back to schedule someone to come out to survey. He got all my info and after about a 20 minute phone call we hang up. He said he would call right back, but I never heard back from him that day. Next day(3/24/16) I call and ask what happened and no one seems to know anything about my call and starts asking for info again. He then tells me there is a $99 fee for survey, which wasn't mentioned at all first call. I say that's fine can I schedule and pay when you get here. He tells me I can't even get booked until I pay?? Sadly it's their loss. We have 5 portables and 2 rooms we needed new Video equipment for. Someone else will be getting our business. I dislike companies that aren't willing to show its about the customer. I didn't catch the first guys name but the guy I spoke with the second time is Bryan. Not once did he try and work anything out with me. And least the other guy lied and said he would help. read more

We bought a Samsung DLP several years ago. At that time the salesman was very nice and very helpful We didn't live in town but they delivered it, set it, and showed us how to use it. A couple of weeks later it was no longer a color TV! Called Bjorn's and they sent the same salesman out. He looked at it and said, "that picture is black and white!" They delivered another TV THAT DAY, set it up and we had no problems after that. Yesterday Martin came out because there were some issues with this now several year old TV. After taking quite a few minutes to troubleshoot it he determined that it was a bad DMD (?) board. Martin said that for what a new board would cost I could buy a new set, around $750. I appreciated his honesty. He didn't pressure me into either option, just said it was my choice. So, for now I'm thinking about a new TV and my first stop with be Bjorn's because of the service, as well as the sales personnel. read more

We've been loyal customers of Bjorns ever since it first opened on Broadway! The team they have is extremely knowledgeable without being arrogant. Service begins from the minute we walk in the door and can last well after the installation if that's what we want. They provide advice about setting up the stereos and tv's that we've purchased the over the years that has been extremely helpful. The set up they have at their store gives us great ideas on what pieces to buy and how they can fit in together. The most recent purchase was with Ronnie Canedo who was very helpful in finding the right tv for us based on our budget and interest! Pricing is always competitive. Bjorn's service department is not reliable. After calling the service dept., they sent a technician out. He was polite and and did part of the repair but they've never completely repaired our system. The technician said they'd call to set up another appointment but they don't call. We called our service rep again and he says he'll get back with us with another estimate and never gets back with us. This has been a continual problem for us with Bjorn's. Go elsewhere for your audio/video needs. read more
