Ice cold beer
Dave P.

All I can say is...ice cold beer, great pizza - and its an icon. Enjoy yourself and savor a landmark establishment.

Outside... Hurry get in there! Pizza awaits you!

My boyfriend grew up in the neighborhood and introduced me to BJs several years ago - I won't lie - the fact that he brought this amazing pie into my life MAY be the secret to our longevity as a couple! First, when you walk in, BJs is a DIVE and I mean that in the very best sense of the word. Old political posters line the ceiling, lots of handwritten drink signs, BJs t-shirts, KENO and the usual busy bar fare line the walls. The counter is lined with "regulars" but you don't feel like an outsider when you haven't yet reached that status. It's comfortable and there are lots of friends to be made. The night we were there a nice girl in the corner was singing along to all of her jukebox picks and she was having a great time. We went in and ordered our favorites - the garlic cheese bread and the pizza. It takes a little time to get your order but there are plenty of cold drinks to keep you company while you wait. The garlic cheese bread came out first and wow - they do NOT skimp on the garlic butter or the cheese - it's chewy and completely saturated with butter and cheese. I am certain as we ate, we both thought of ways to wrestle the last piece away from the other. My name was called shortly after we finished the bread and the main event was ready - the pizza! It is served on an old-school cafeteria tray. No non-sense is perfect here because it really is all about the pizza. I ordered pepperoni and my boyfriend added onions to his half. The sauce is bright and tangy - the crust is a flaky thin crust. The toppings are enough to really bring it together rather than just sitting one layer on another layer - but not so much that you can't taste the crust. It is a well-orchestrated medley of crust, sauce, cheese and toppings - the whole (pie) is definitely greater than the sum of its parts.

Kind of nice to get a large beer on draft for $4.00 Great value

Best pizza ever. It's our favorite. Lots of toppings and a great crust. If you order the deluxe it had so many toppings!

No, this is a bar that has sub par food. The people that are regulars are rude and hateful to new people and the staff does nothing

Can a dive bar be cute? If so, The Lounge is a cute dive bar…read more It is simply decorated, compact in size and a welcoming atmosphere. I discovered, The Lounge because I arrived super early for a wine tasting at another business in the plaza. My friend and I were immediately won over, when we saw the bar dog. Her name is, Lucy. I liked that the front window is tinted so you cannot see in, but once inside you can clearly see the outside. If you like to play slots while you sip your inexpensive cocktail, The Lounge has about 4 or 6 machines for you to play. If you do, good luck. Best of all, the drinks are super affordable aka "cheap". The bartender was friendly to us being newcomers. Seeing the rest of the patrons at the bar and every stool was full, you could tell they were regulars at this neighborhood watering hole. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd definitely stop by for a cocktail.

There is a generously sized bar and with a few high top tables along the side wall. There are several slot machines if you're interested in trying your luck! The bar offers your standard fare of beer, wine, mixed drinks and shots. They offer a few prepackaged snacks including chips and nuts. We were able to order a small pizza. They offer the Dog Town frozen pizzas. These are among my favorite pizzas. And it paired well with the ice cold beer. Our bartender was friendly and made sure we were taken care of.

Oh, Daddy. I like Catdaddy's…read more Catdaddy's recently went under new ownership. It's a new partnership that is mainly women. They are promoting themselves as, "A female owned space where women can let their hair down and have fun...We've got your back." They're promoting a safe place for ladies to have fun and not have to go it alone when feeling uncomfortable. The entire crew will have your back. It's a safe place. I met two female friends here for Happy Hour this past Friday. I thought I'd arrive early to secure a table, when I did the bar was already packed and it was just 5PM. I was greeted by a male bartender, who poured a good and refreshing Tito's with Seltzer. Pricing for a call brand was cheap. Not sure if it was a HH deal or not. I'll update that on next visit. The best way to describe, Catdaddy's is that it is an upscale dive bar. Its crowd was a good mix of ages, sexes and diversity. We were still there during the bartender change and the young lady who came on duty was also, attentive and friendly. There's no full kitchen, but they do offer bar pizzas, if you need a nosh to cut the liquor. I had fun, so I know I'll be back.

First night, Anna did a fantastic job of giving me her "specialty" drink (she knew exactly what i meant without having to describe it as "something that you're great as making that's not 'normally' on the menu). It took a little finagling the second night (Kimmie (f i remember names correctly), you gotta do better than "Margaritas" as your 'special" :) ), and i never caught the third bartendress name, but she was as friendly as Anna and Kimmie. Best feel was, I didn't feel like a stranger on either night I went in, conversations with the regulars just felt _normal_ and not as though I was _intruding and even got "challenged' to show up Karaoke night by one of the regulars (he had a good laugh when I described my singing skills as "can't carry at tune in a bucket with the lid RIVETED on". First night I went , they were doing Bingo.. (showed up after they started so didn't join in late) , next night, Trivia.. (even left work early to make sure I showed upon time). Everyone was having fun, the hosts running the shows were fantastic. Which means Friday nights with live music and Sat. Night karaoke this place I think should be rocking!) The food - absolutely fantastic and fast. a full meal on night one (Burger, and loaded tots), and plenty of side-dishes on night two... So many things I wanted to try, but had to keep it to a minimum for back-2-back nights. I can see concerns if they pack the house on any night (again, not a large venue, although in the middle of winter, no surprise the outdoor patio was wrapped up, which probably adds some more ), but for what they had the two nights I was there, this is a much see! (and no, you still dont' want me doing karaoke!)

The vibe inside is cool - place is comfortable, smoking is NOT allowed inside, TouchTunes jukebox all make for a pleasant atmosphere. Service was great. Jamie and crew were very friendly and hospitable. Food - very good and extremely well priced. The salad was fresh and a nice portion. The wings - WOW!!! I consider myself a wing connoisseur and these were top notch! Cooked perfectly with a delicious buffalo sauce and bleu on the side. I shall relay to my friends and colleagues in the area as this will now be the "go-to" spot when we are in St Louis! Great job team!
