The server was not good at all. Salad dishes were left on the table when our steak and chicken arrived. Of the 3 refills we had shr only noticed one was needed after we finished our dinner. Poor service. The Mano was walking around but he never engaged with customers unless there was an issue. The manager needs to speak with customers throughout their meals to understand how his restaurant/server are doing. The host staff was very pleasant! read more

Update ... Just took Wife and Son and spent more than $130 on food alone, after (25%) tip, to eat what seemed like pre-prepared/prepackaged food that came off the back of a Sysco truck. The food was not horrible but did not appreciate being charged "chief prepared" prices for a "heat and serve" product. Could have saved $60 and gone to Applebee's it is same product. I am not sure to what degree the Chief preparation occurs but I can't imagine it is completely from scratch as I would expect from a $130 bill. As a side note your waiter was awesome, thanks for responding to review, gave you another star for both. read more

I come to BJ's usually on Wednesday evenings after work. I like to sit in the bar area. I notice if you sit at one of the tables or booths the waiter will not come over for 20-30 min. When you sit directly at the bar the service is fine. That's the only thing I dislike about the place. Customers should not have to find out where the staff is. The food is decent. read more

This is me and my hubby's third time being here, second time with the same waitress. The tasty food and drinks help to make up for the terrible service. We sit for 10+ minutes without being greeted and then completely ignored with glasses empty the rest of the night. Server never asked how food tasted. Management was on top of running food and checking in. Felt like I was served more by the manager than our server. It was very slow the past two times as well, so server cannot use "busy" as an excuse. read more

STAY AWAY FROM BJ'S!!!!! The chicken sandwich is very dry, they are stingy with the honey mustard. the "deep dish" pizza is 2inch thick bread with shit toppings, 28$ for a lot of bread and stingy with toppings. The avocado egg rolls taste gross, (nothing like the photo on yelp) also very stingy with the tamarind sauce. All of this food was terrible, I genuinely hated the food. The pineapple juice taste exactly like the juice that you find in the canned pineapple from the grocery store (Basically not fresh), I tried the pizookies and I was disappointed. I tried the 15$ spaghetti with meatballs and it was DECENT, but was seriously overpriced. I will never eat at this restaurant again. NEVER!!!! I paid 100$ for this bullshit and on top of everything I was treated rudely by the short guy at the front, he's lucky I'm out on bond or I would have slapped the service quality out of his mouth! Honestly, I don't know why this place gets a bad rap sometimes... BJ's is one of my favorite places to eat. Their food and the atmosphere, as well as their service, are always great. Today I went to eat lunch there and the food came out quicker than I had expected. The Italian Market pizza was truly awesome tasting. And I love their fried calamari appetizer, it's the only appetizer I'll ever want because it's quite good. The Pizookies are great, I always try to make room for one whenever I can, but today I could not as I was too full from the food I ate. Oh yeah, and also their orange cream soda is quite tasty. Whenever the mood strikes, I will surely come by BJ's again soon. read more

We reserved the back room for an anniversary party over the weekend and everyone was so helpful. We were able to set up a little earlier than we expected, the food was delicious and the servers, Dillon and Daniel, were patient and accommodating for such a large crowd. Considering the number of guests, and the tendency for people to mingle and not stay at their seats, getting drink orders was a challenge and our servers definitely worked hard and were great to work with. The only opportunity for improvement I would offer would be to make sure the buffet was large enough and regularly replenished for a party of that size. read more

I love BJs. I've to the one in Century City, CA , Pearland, TX & the one in Katy, TX. The one in Katy has the worst service and it's been that way the last three visits. I think it's a management issue when the service is consistently bad. We didn't get a plate with a large pizza, the pizza's were cold, one sandwich had mayo when ordered without it, one order was NEVER served until after the manager was called and everyone else was nearly done. It was terrible. I will not go there for awhile and my Rewards card was not credited. read more

I went here during dinner time and sat at the bar because it was packed. The bartender, I think his name is Phillip, did a superb job getting my drinks made and getting my food out in a timely manner. Will definitely be coming back because of his excellent service. Would also recommend the chicken lettuce wrap and burgers from there! I could honestly eat the chicken lettuce wrap as an entree if I wasn't that hungry. It comes in a large serving size! read more

I really like this place. I have been coming to this restaurant at least once a month since it opened (sometimes two to three times in a month). I do not understand why there are so many average reviews on Yelp. The servers are notably nice and the food is good. I recommend their pizzas, their burgers and oddly enough their jambalaya. All good. Beer selection is what I would expect from a Brewpub. I can watch a game here or I can have a nice dinner with my kids. Also, you need to have the Pizookie at least one time...by and Large the servers are outstanding; friendly and attentive. I also just recently found out that BJ's does a tremendous amount of support to a few charities and gives back to the community. I'm sitting here in this restaurant and the drink made by the so called bartender are beyond sweet and water downed. My Long Island Iced Tea is beyond sweeter than Country Time Lemonade. We were there late Sunday afternoon. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated although the place was 1/2 full. It took a while for my beer to arrive. I asked why. The young man said it was because they give priority to bar patrons. What? Get me my beer. The wings arrived on the cold side. They were unappetizing and I smelled that strange, fake butter taste on them. The chicken dumplings arrived cold as well. Otherwise they were good. My chicken pita Mediterranean tacos were warm and tasty. They came with a super odd, rice and I don't know what side. It was not edible. The complimentary soup, because of the wait, well, that was cold too. The fish tacos were ok. I finished my beer and was never offered another one. We didn't bother with dessert and won't go back. Sunday evening, not extremely busy. Ordered salads and a pizza. While the waiter was pleasant enough, the level of attention was lacking. The runner brought the salads out, dropped them off without paying attention that we didn't have silverware on our table. He seemed to be more interested in checking his cell phone than performing his job duties. When we had finished eating, it took quite a while to get the servers attention to bring us a to go box and the check. All in all, very disappointing. Visited in a Thursday evening and was seated right away. May have just been the waiter but even after being acknowledged it was several minutes before the drink order was taken. Several minutes more passed before the beverage made it to the table and several minutes more before my order was taken. No pictures but had a house and double bone-in pork chop and steamed vegetable that I wouldn't go out of my way to order again. For our the long wait times I got a free desert which ironically seemed like an eternity before that arrived!! Paid a visit to the men's room in the way out and wished I would have gone out back next to the dumpster instead. read more

Came here with wife and kids on a Friday evening. Was greeted and seated right away - was blasted to see the menu items. They have Duvell beer on the menu not sure I have seen that anywhere. The waiter was great and kept us updated and carefully listened to our order. The food was awesome. On my visit to the Katy location (20536 Katy Freeway) on 10/31/2016, the burger came out very dark on the outside from the grill and it tasted very bad. The order was processed again and I got it right the second time. On my second burger, I found a metal silky thing inside the burger . I told the waiter and showed her the metal part, the managers stopped by my table, saw the part, since I wanted to keep the part he took a picture of it. The manager explained that it's likely that the part fell from the grill cleaning brush into the burger! He of course waived my check, but I am extremely disappointed as I am not expecting that to happen at BJ! I do have pictures if anyone is interested to see them... A year ago at BJ Willowbrook (Northwest Houston) location, I found a piece of a broken plate inside my pasta. We ordered a meal from BJs last night May 4, through Grub Hub. The cost was $50. When the delivery window passed without a word, I checked online. BJs site still had the delivery listed. I signed out and then back in again, and it said that BJs had cancelled our order and we'd get a refund in 3-5 days. Our phone number was in the system, yet no one reached out, so it was after 8 PM and we did not get the meal we ordered. In addition, we are out $50 for 3-5 days. We felt robbed. We were regular customers, but will not return to BJs or Grub Hub. read more

Had fish & chips. Fish was super greasy. Wedges were floppy & cold. Half my wedge fries ended up in the tarter sauce. Ugh! Server was okay, but he kept wanting to give me Diet Pepsi. Always a great place to dine out whenever you do not have many choices to pick. Great food and great service especially when there's an NFL game. I absolutely love the oreo pizookie and sometimes just stop by and just order that. However, it can get pretty busy if there is an occasion that night so expect to wait at least 20-30 minutes if that happens. Cheers~ read more

REVIEW BY FORMER BJ'S SERVER: Dining date: 7/13/2014 at 12 am. Preface: Yes, we ate very late. That is no excuse for poor service. If a restaurant is open, it should be functional. Let me begin with our VERY FIRST interaction with the staff. My girlfriend and I walk into the restaurant. The hostess doesn't acknowledge us at all. No greeting, nothing. Instead, she proceeds to grab menus with the most dreary frown that I've ever seen and ask "So, two?". Then she sluggishly proceeds to seat us at a 2 top that's only one part booth. Really? In the entire empty restaurant you can't even give us a whole 2 top booth? Now, if you're not familiar with the duties of Hostess' interaction with guests you're in luck because I am here to demystify the incredibly difficult job of the under appreciated hostess...They are as followed: SAY HELLO TO SOMEONE WHEN THEY CHOOSE YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. BE NICE TO THEM. YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON THE GUEST SEES, SO LEAVE A LASTING FIRST IMPRESSION. And for the more advanced hostesses there's this super incredible technique: ASK THEM HOW THEY'RE DOING. Seriously, that's their only job when interacting with guests. As I said, I worked there. And I still work in restaurants. Their ONLY job is to be nice and seat the guest. SHE HAD ONE JOB....And she couldn't do it. She should be fired. Table Service: Once seated by our lovely hostess, my girlfriend and I picked out what we wanted. We know the menu well, we didn't need time to look anything over. However, this kind establishment was generous enough to give us 10 minutes to decide what we wanted to drink. In other words: Nobody even stopped by the table to say "Hey, I'm a bit busy, I'll be right back." NOTHING! We were ready to leave at this point. However, after 10 minutes(which is an abysmal excuse for service and is completely unacceptable by Bj's Corporate standards) we were greeted by Devan. Devan was the ONLY GOOD THING about this restaurant. I'll admit that I was a bit frustrated already but she handled it superbly. Yet, there's another twist. DEVAN WASN'T EVEN OUR SERVER! She was actually so fantastic that we tipped her instead of our server. This restaurant is lucky to have at least one competent server. Now, you may be wondering why someone who wasn't our server is the one greeting us and taking our order. Remember, it's 12 am. At this point in the day, management has decisions to make. In order to cut costs, management sends every server home and only keeps on their VERY BEST SERVERS. These are the closers. These people are responsible for making sure everyone is helping to clean up the restaurant and take the remaining tables. Apparently our ACTUAL server was too busy to even stop by and show his face. Now I will say this-the place was fairly busy. But if our server was too busy then management made a very poor decision to place so much responsibility upon one person who is incapable of handling such a work load. Fast forwarding another 10 minutes: Devan has brought our drinks, taken our order and brought our first course. WE STILL HAVEN'T SEEN OUR SERVER. After a few astonishing moments, we are finally introduced to Tim. If you can even call it an introduction. Tim walks past us in a rush and faces us with his backside and says "Everything good over here?" No, Tim...Everything is not good over here. We then proceed to tell Tim that we would like Devan as our official server. To which Tim replies that she's already cut. Instead of apologizing for completely neglecting the people that are supposed to tip him, Tim proceeds to give me half-attempted excuses for why he hasn't been by. He even said that he chose Devan to delegate some of his responsibilities. First of all, that's not how you delegate responsibility. You don't make someone do EVERYTHING and not even stop by to say hi. Secondly, you don't give excuses, you apologize. If you'll recall, Tim is a CLOSER. Not to mention he has a badge that signifies his excellence as a server. This guy is LITERALLY the best this restaurant has to offer. And we saw him a total of 3 times the entire evening. Drinks were empty, plates weren't bussed. We notified Tim that our tip will still be going to Devan because she literally did 98% of the work. The food was good. Bj's has very tasty food. But this was one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. EVER. Do yourself a favor and vote with your dollar so that these people learn how to run a restaurant. read more

Came for lunch and the were not to busy, I saw many open tables. I only had a party of two. The hosted said the wait was 5 to 10 minutes. I saw many open tables in the bar area and the regular sitting area and it still took them about 10 minutes to seat me. The table that I saw was empty when I arrived is the table they seated me in. I am not sure why that wait happened. Some party's of 4 came after me and they were seated immediately. The server way ok, it took forever to get our food, and when the food finally came it was incomplete. They did offer my wife a salad until the rest of her food came. It took us 1 1/2 hours for lunch! The burger I ordered was ok the piece of lettus they put on it was the white hard butt end of the lettus ! The menu also stated that it came with mayonnaise and a special sauce which I had to ask and wait for because it did not come out with the burger. My wife ordered the tacos with black beans, the tacos came out and we're very small, the black beans never came out to the end of the meal. Very disappointed in this location and this place, i do not believe I will ever be back. read more

Service was terrible, drinks were slow, items were forgotten and when we're finally enjoying our dinner, the server brings us our check. Oh, you're ready for us to leave?! I asked our server why the check wasn't brought at the end of the meal in which he replied "Our manager tells us to bring the check during the meal." Not a good idea to tell your customers to leave - no coffee, dessert or final drink offered. I'll give you some time to get it together before I venture out again. read more

We were excited to see BJ's opening in Katy because of our past experiences at the willowbrook, sugarland, and Dallas locations. Upon arriving the wait wasn't terrible for a Saturday night and we were seated within the timeframe the hostess stated. Our party was 2 adults and an infant (who needed a sling). We were sat at the very front of the restaurant in a booth for 2 people. No where to put the sling/ carrier except in the aisle. Which would have been ok if there was room. The aisle between our table and the table across from us was about 4 feet wide. Throw in a sling and that extremely busy walkway was less than 2 feet wide. This was not only a danger to our baby (we watched as full trays were carried over him, as well as hot plates of food), but also if there was an emergency, our baby would have been trampled. We were seated there by not one by two managers, both who said it was fine. A third manager carrying a full tray of drinks almost tripped over the sling trying to squeeze by. Luckily I was at the hostess stand asking to be moved at the time. The same manager who sat is there looked shocked that we would have been sat there in the first place. A very kind waiter came up and said a table in the back was open and escorted us to a much better table with plenty of room for the baby carrier and sling. Our server was pretty prompt about greeting us and taking our drink and app order, however that was where our "service" ended. Yes our apps and entrees were brought out to us hot and in a decent amount of time, however our waiter numerous times said he would get us more water and it took him about 10 minutes to surface back at our table. As for the food, it is mediocre at best. Like I said before, we haves dined at many different BJ locations and have always loved the food, but not this time. The apps consisted of canned artichoke hearts fried and ahi poke with avocado (which was good, except we had two small chunks of avocado resting on top of the tuna). We ordered a deep dish BJ's pizza which lacked flavor, sauce, and was still doughy and chicken fingers (which before ordering we asked if they had a dinner portion, which we were told yes). The frozen chicken strips were a bad ballpark version with about 15 shoestring fries. We honestly thought, and still think, it was a children's plate. On to dessert, the famous pizookie. It was my wife's birthday and our babysitter got sick at the last minute so we had to change our plans a little and thought BJ's would be a good place to go with the little guy. After dinner I told the waiter it was her birthday and he said he would be happy to bring her a pizookie. We were very excited! We sat there waiting for 35min, paid for dinner, and never saw the pazookie reach our table. The waiter said it would be right out and he would go check on it about 25 minutes in, but we never saw either again. We finally gave up and left because we had to get our little one to bed. We know this is a new restaurant and they are still working things out, but this is a "cookie cutter" operation. When a new restaurant goes up, corporate trainers are brought in for both front and back of the house, stay for about a month and get everything rolling. I'm not sure where the ball was dropped, but there needs to be some serious help from the way/where guests are seated (i.e. babies with car seats or guests with special needs and we were witness to a 350+ pound person crammed into a booth that was not only embarrassing and uncomfortable to her, but also the rest of the guests around them), to the servers attention to detail, and to the food to bring it up to the level of the other locations. I know my review won't stop people from going, nor will the restaurant lose any business, however please know what you may be walking into before choosing to eat here. read more
