We have been here before but this weekend we decided to try their burgers since we always get the chicken tenders. Before I post this review, we love the chicken tenders. So we decided to try the burgers during this trip. I will say this, I will never order another burger at this restaurant. We are huge fans of fresh hamburgers, and we always try them at most restaurants that we go to. So we got a Hickory burger, a bacon cheeseburger, and a regular cheeseburger. All of our burgers were well done to the point that they were hard to chew and they were not tasty. Normally at this restaurant, food comes out very quickly, but this time it did take a little longer and now I know why. I was very disappointed in all of the burgers and how they were really way too well done. The restaurant was super busy and we should've said something, but we did not because we had been waiting so long. We just did not want to wait any longer. The french fries were super hot and fresh, I will give them that. I think at this point, we will stick to the chicken tenders because those are super good, but the burgers were not good at all. Again, we really enjoy this restaurant, but we are going to stick to what we normally order. If you order a burger at Mia's table, make sure you tell them that you want it done medium, and not well done. Other than this experience, we have always loved the food there and you get free ice cream after your meal. We highly recommend the chicken tenders and the baked beans are phenomenal. This place is full of true southern comfort foods...love on a plate! With plenty of parking, and seating both inside and outside there's nothing else to do but come on in and eat! P.S. wear your comfy pants! I selected the pork chops (they did me a solid by making my chops fried), along with mashed potatoes (it's the real deal) and green beans. All of it was very tasty (though I could have used a little more seasoning on the chops). One of the person's in my party did have an issue with his order and they took a long time to get it to him (and then when it was brought out, it was wrong...but, we continued on anyway). What made my experience all the better was that they serve free ice-cream here! That's right, free ice-cream!! Mia's Table has always been a staple for our family, with consistently delicious food and great service, not to mention the bonus soft serve ice cream! We've visited both the Kirby and Memorial locations many times and have always had positive experiences. Last night, we tried the Katy location for the first time, and unfortunately, we left disappointed. The food was still excellent, and the service was good throughout most of our visit. However, the experience at the end left a negative impression. As we were leaving, I stopped by the soda fountain and asked for a lid for my to-go cup. An employee who was holding both a cup and a lid told me that lids were only for to-go, which was confusing since l was holding a Styrofoam cup designed to be taken to go. I then went to the cashier and asked again, only to be told that they were out of lids. I'm not sure which explanation was accurate, but it was frustrating to receive conflicting information. More importantly, it was disappointing that such a small request could not be accommodated. For a business known for its hospitality and customer service, denying a customer a simple cup lid or being unable to provide one, left an unpleasant final impression on what was otherwise a good meal. read more

Mia's table was a place we picked out for Saturday dinner. It's located in Katy off of Kingsland Boulevard and the Grand Parkway. It sits back on a side street and is a pretty big location with lots of parking. Inside was plenty of seating and a really big patio that wraps around the outside of the building. You order at the front counter and they give you a GPS type beeper that you place on your table and that's how they find you to bring your order. I had the Mac and cheese and chicken fried chicken and potato salad. I thought the chicken fried chicken was outstanding. It seems they are known for it. I enjoyed them very much. New to Katy and Mia's is right around the corner from our house. OMG!!! It's an unspoken rule for me that if there's chicken fried steak on the menu, I have to get it. It was unbelievable! Also just dominated with the double sides of carbs (mac and cheese with mashed potatoes). You can definitely tell that everything is made to order and fresh. I have gone to different Mia's Table in Houston but second time this Katy, location lacking customer service, hostess as you order and food. Not good at all. The other locations Cypress, Memorial City and Woodlands are better in comparison to Katy location. The manager was eating at a bar area was loudly to another employee. It was a late lunch time on a Saturday. The cheeseburger needed seasoning. But the fries were fresh and hot. My wife did not like tacos, expensive for grilled shrimps and they are overcooked and just The music is a bit loud too. It is not as busy as the other locations on a Saturday, I think my thoughts is because this location is not good and needs to be better in the other things I mentioned. First time at Mia's Table and definitely won't be our last! We went on a Saturday during the busy lunch time and there was plenty of seating and putting our order was quick! The server lets us know up front that the fried chicken my husband wanted would take 20 minutes because it's cooked fresh. We didn't mind waiting and it was well worth the wait! Husband had the fried chicken with sweet potato fries and a fruit cup. I had the grilled pork chops with mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries.....and a frozen peach margarita ! We actually had Johnny Carraba himself visit our table (we had a party of 9) and he gave us complementary desserts!!! What an awesome owner! Visited for dinner for the first time on my wife's recommendation. I wasn't familiar the menu prior to arriving so asked the order taker about the pork sandwich. She replied "It isn't my favorite". The staff honestly could not have been nicer. Coming and going there were several people that said hello and goodbye and thank us for their business. They truly are building a positive culture with their employees that is rare to find now. Plus free self serve ice cream machine. The chicken fried steak is huge it fills up the whole plate but....was super salty! The jalapeño gravy is OK my mom raves about it. But altogether I ate 4 bites of it; Same with my sister. We probably should've shared one but nobody told us that and my mom is all about leftovers. But she didn't really enjoy hers either so maybe it was just a bad night with whoever was battering or maybe that's just the one menu item to stay away from. When you go to pick your sides, this is what's important... you have to get the mac & cheese!!! I kind of wish I would've double sided on that but I was trying to be good and get a veggie. But I really enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. Their green beans had too many onions and broken pieces of green beans, which to me kind of resembled ones out of a can, but I don't know that's true. The fries are whatever, I'm glad I didn't get them. My son just kind of picked at them so I'm assuming they weren't his style. My son got the fried shrimp and was very pleased with it. It kind of sucks because it's not on the kids menu so I had to pay the full $19.99 for him to have that but he did eat really well so I was OK with it. The food is hot. And great. The service by Juan (he was serving the tables as needed) was friendly and professional and helpful. I'm giving this review "ok" because of the bar service. This is our 2nd visit (pervious was about a year ago) and the same thing happened at the previous visit. patrons order at the counter. Handed a lighted buzzer. And then find a table. I asked the counter how do we get our bar drinks. They said it would be brought to our table. We received our appetizer. I went to the bar and asked about our cocktails. She said she'd bring them when they were ready. We finished our appetizers and had our entrees and still no cocktails. I asked the man who brought our food, as he was taking our buzzer. He said the bartender would bring the drinks...... We were over half finished with our entrees before the bar tender brought our beer and mojito. there was one gentleman at the bar and the bartender was chatting with him a lot. This is a problem. When patrons order a bar drink it should be served promptly, as other restaurants do. This happened on our last visit also. We expect bar drinks with or before the appetizers, not AFTER we have finished most of our entrees. The food is great. Hot fresh great. its unfortunate they can't get this issue corrected. read more
