Came for our reservation at 9pm but we weren't seated for a long time. Extremely slow service even with open tables. Once seated we were also not served for a while and finally got our food at 9:30. We ended up paying online using the receipt because the waiters were not coming around for a while. Very busy on Tuesday nights, probably for the $5 pizookie deal. I think it's a classic American diner. It has a full menu of 5/6 pages of food, dessert or drink options. There's a lot of options that you can choose from and it feels like a typical diner. The fact that it is a chain, also makes the service and the quality pretty standard and reliable to the other restaurants in that chain. It has around 80 to 90 people worth of seating. You have the options of seating at booths or at tables and they are divided by little glass walls in between each seat. There's TVs on the walls also displaying games and different sports so I'm sure you could also just go to the bar and watch different games going on at that time. I went on a Tuesday and I specifically went for their $5 pizookie deal. A pizookie is a pizza cookie. They serve it in a skillet. It is a size of a mini personal pizza but in cookie form. It was a great dessert that is shareable. I honestly could not finish a pizookie by myself so I would recommend you go with somebody. It had a scoop of ice cream on the top and that was perfect melting into the warm cookie. The chocolate chips inside the cookie were so warm and gooey and the interior was super moist. People go here, on purpose? Bussers don't want to bus tables, Waiters don't want to take orders nor bring your food and drinks out. Strange place. Came in on a Thursday. Waited over a dirty hightop in the bar for about 10 minutes for someone to clear the table. No one came but plenty saw us. Asked the bartender and she sent someone over "sorry, we're busy" was the response. Shrug it off, no big deal. Waiter comes around awhile later and we put in drink orders. $9 per pint of Modelo is crazy. Any bar has twice the size for the same price. Drinks took a long time to come. We put in an order for an appetizer sampler w/ chips, guacamole, salsa, mozzarella sticks, and a pretzel w/ beer cheese. We also ordered lemon pepper wings w/ Nashville hot on the side and a side of fries ($6 for a small side of mediocre fries) and I got the chicken California Club. The food took a long time and we asked them to check on it. Suddenly, they were ready...interesting. The mains came before the appetizer. That's always a huge deduction for me. The club was the worst I've ever had. The meat was dry and flavorless. My wife's wings were pretty good but they told us she had to wait for the side of Nashville hot. Soooo, do we let the food get cold while we wait or do we eat it w/out the sauce? The app finally came and had tiny portions of salsa and cheese and chips. The guac was flavorless and the pretzel was good. When we were done we asked for 2 boxes to-go. He said he would be right back. 20 minutes pass! After seeing countless videos on social media hyping up the nationwide famous Pizookies, my friends and I finally decided to come here for dinner and try them for ourselves. We arrived around 6 PM and ended up waiting about 20 minutes before being seated with our party of five. Once we were at our table, our waiter was super nice and patient with us, even putting up with our chaotic humor the entire time. For my entrée, I ordered the BJ's Slow-Roasted Tri-Tip Beef Dip, and to be honest, I did not like it at all. It really does not take much to make a decent sandwich, but this one missed the mark in several ways. The thinly sliced beef was extremely dry, and although the au jus helped a little, it did not completely save it. The hoagie roll needed more toasting so it would not become instantly soggy when dipped, and the sandwich needed more caramelized onions to add flavor. The menu stated that it came with a side of creamy horseradish, but mine did not include any. That simple addition could have made the sandwich noticeably better. The coleslaw was forgettable, but the fries were good. Since there were five of us, we ordered the Mega Pizookie and the Monkey Bread. For the Pizookie, we chose the original, strawberry shortcake, salted caramel, and Dubai chocolate variations. The strawberry shortcake was by far the best, because the strawberries helped cut the richness of the cookie. The original and salted caramel were fine but not remarkable, and the Dubai chocolate needed significantly more pistachio. The true highlight of the entire meal was the Monkey Bread. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the combination of the sauce with the ice cream created an incredibly satisfying dessert. Even though the entrées were hit or miss, the Monkey Bread alone made the visit worthwhile and is the main reason I would consider coming back. read more

We decided to dine here since we hadn't visited this restaurant in over a year. I ordered the boneless wings and house salad. The boneless wings were decent, but the house salad was sad. I thought I was getting fresh lettuce with a good amount of cucumbers and tomatoes. I got some type of salad mix with a tiny amount of cucumbers and tomatoes. Hubby ordered the fish and chips with fries, and added cole slaw. The fish was full of grease and there were no chips. The fries tasted old and greasy. The cole slaw was ok. Hubby thought he was getting cod, but we don't know what type of fish that was, and the fish was mostly covered in thick, greasy batter. The waitress was nice, so no complaints there. At this point, I've equated BJ's with their renowned pizookie. My last 3 visits have served as company for my sweet-toothed friends on $5 Tuesdays and even as someone who prefers savory over sweet, I have to admit that the cookies n cream pizookie is quite the treat. The name tells you exactly what it is: a soft, warm, pizza-shaped cookie topped with ice cream. Do I feel guilty eating it afterward? Perhaps, but I can't think of a better example of why moderation exists. Also, make sure not to touch the metal pan directly. It is deceivingly hot. Unlike some of the central areas within the Pearland Town Center, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a spot in the adjacent parking lot. As expected for a weekday evening in the suburbs, we were immediately seated and serviced. BJ's serves well as a catch-all for drinks, sport nights, and dining; I'm sure I'll stumble here eventually for one of those reasons. Horrible service. Food is fine. Ambiance is okay. Server was horrible though. We got seated immediately but it took our server 15 minutes just to come out to take our drink orders. It took another 10 mins for 2 salads to come out and another 10 or so minutes for another meal to come out. Not only did she NEVER check up on us in the hour that we've just been sitting here and have a dead and annoyed attitude, she forgot an entire order! (Probably because she was half ignoring us taking our order and never came back.) I understand there were 2 of the same orders, but if she had just relayed an overview of the table's orders (standard practice in ALL restaurants) we wouldn't have come to this point. She would never let us say anything either as she would just plop the food back on the table and immediately leave to hide in the back without a word. Honestly the most frustrating service experience ever. As a service worker, I feel for getting tired after long days and such, but it comes to a point where if you cannot bring yourself to interact with customers properly, then there is no reason to show up and act like this. It only brings down the whole experience of the franchise. Please do better. PSA to any people reading this: Regardless of having a horrible experience, please do NOT stiff your servers. Be kind and leave a tip, your server will end up paying out of pocket if you stiff them. I might not have enjoyed the service, but always leave some sort of tip for them. read more

Hot, sweet cookie with melted chocolate is contrasted by the coolness and intense flavor of the vanilla bean ice cream. Honestly had this been a regular week without the aftermath of the hurricane, I would rate this visit a 1 or at best a 2 star, but I'm giving them some grace for actually being open and doing their best with their limited supplies. So as such I'm not taking off a star for the very limited menu. On the other hand, our table was dirty when we were seated because there was a mixup and the table we were supposed to take was already taken and they hadn't had time to clean our table before we were seated. There was hair on the table and food crumbs which we had to point to our waiter to clean up. The wait time to just get our drink was also over 15 minutes and even then it was just the iced tea and water and we had to wait another 15 minutes to get the food and the Lucky Ducky. I had the salmon which was good enough but it was already kind of cold and the broccoli was kind of burnt. Had it been warmer, it would have been very good. The Shrimp Tacos were delicious I was told but the chips that came with it were stale or overfried perhaps? Again, I don't want to be too critical because it's been a rough week for everybody and for all I know the kitchen is understaffed too. My goal really was just to treat a friend who had been without power all week and it did the job but I still want to leave an honest review. read more

I've tried the great white pizza, chicken parmigiana, smokehouse burger, and the white chocolate macadamia nut pizookie. All the food was good, but nothing was exceptional or stood out to me that would make me want to come back if there wasn't a deal on the pizookies. There was a lot of parking available due to it being in the Pearland Town Center. This place has bad service and bad food. We get here and there slamming our plates, not even acknowledging us. Rude the whole time not a hospitality environment they just hire everyone. Now the food, i got a roasted sirloin steak and asked for medium rare. That steak was not medium rare is was dryer than popeyes biscuits without honey. It wasnt even steak at that point, it was a PINCHE chuck roast alaavergaa. Then my woman got some plain no personality having ahh chicken Alfredo pasta. She also got a strawberry lemonade. The celery was fresh but minimal, and the ranch cup was barely enough for the portion size. Wow, the pizza was so good!!!! It was my first time trying it. I usually only go there for pizookies on Tuesday, but I was feeling hungry this time. The pizza was so hot and fresh with the perfect soft doughy crust. I got chicken, spinach, and mushrooms as my toppings, and it was great! Pizookies were good, but always too sweet. I can never finish them. I got a mocktail that the bartender recommended. I believe it was the blackberry pina colada, but it was not great. I would not get it again, especially for the price.
