The place had nice vibes, like an ocean/surfing beach feel. There's an outdoor patio and two sides to it. I think it's a great place to grab drinks casually. The food was okay nothing really stood out. I tried the brown butter scallops, and they just tasted like oily scallops. Not too much flavor, but they were cooked nicely. I also tried their avocado tuna taco, and those were a bit weird. The flavors and texture weren't it for me. The inside was kind of mushy, but it did have a hint of yuzu sauce, which made it tolerable. Next, I tried the gumbo with cornbread, and the cornbread with the gumbo was a game changer. It definitely kicked it up a notch. The gumbo didn't have very strong flavors like other gumbos, but I still enjoyed it. Then I tried the fish and chips. The fish was cooked crispy to my liking, and the portion size was decent. However, the fries were a bit too hard and tasted a little stale. The oysters were the last thing I tried and they were pretty decent my favorite was the easy coasts ones. My only complaint with them were the shell some pieces of shell ended up in the meat portion. This is a fantastic little cafe worth the drive from 288 if you're passing by. We went on a Sat. afternoon, plenty of parking and not crowed. BUT, I can totally see where they would get packed. It a nice island vibe with Rasta style music, a great pina colada (don't let the "it's not frozen" keep you from ordering it, trust). The fried shrimp are delicious, nice sized, the wedge is huge and the gumbo is pretty decent too. The cornbread, must! We got bread pudding to go based on all we tried today. well, we love the fried oyster, deviled egg appetizer. We have been coming for about a year. Moved back from Austin area. We try different menu items for variety. Saturday was disappointing. We were with a party of 6. One couple gave up and left, cancelling their order. Mackayla was helpful, but had to apologize a couple of times for the wait on our food. Went during lunch time today for the first time. The environment and vibe of the place seemed great of the bat. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and sat down. The waiter was great,very sweet, and attentive. We got our food and everyone was enjoying their food. I ordered the Cajun Hot Chicken but they forgot to dip the chicken so it was not spicy at all. They also forgot to dip my coworkers sandwich too . We just didn't say anything since we didn't want to take out food back since we were limited on time and didn't want to wait to get another sandwich. Food is really good. The garlic fries are meh, the garlic needs to be sautéed a tiny bit. They use oil instead of butter so they are missing that richness in flavor. Everything is oily instead of buttery. That's a mistake to me. Ambiance is bar like, loud music, doesn't lend itself to dining peacefully or with people you want to talk to unless you talk loud. The service is the worst. Slow as hell. We had one glass of water the whole time we were there, waiting for a refill, yeah I'll bring some refills, at the end of our lunch. Shitty service no doubt. Overall, I'd rate this place a 7/10, just very average. The ambiance was decent. They offer live music on select days of the month, and there's a nice outdoor patio area for a more laid-back vibe. Love this place! We've gone for brunch several times and I've never had a dish that I didn't love! When it's nice weather, they'll sometimes have live music on the patio, and the place just lives up to the Good Vibes name! The patio is covered with plenty of fans, so it's nice even when it's hot outside or raining. When we had that one day of decent weather, sitting outside was a real treat. The mixed drinks were so good and a draw for the kind of girls who like a cute glass (me). One gripe was they were randomly out of a lot of their beers on tap but I don't like beer so who cares? This was the first time we had been here since King's sold it. The atmosphere has definitely changed and matched coastal vibe they had going. Our server was very attentive, even though we were the only table she had in our section. We found it to be phenomenal. We ordered the fried cheese curds for an appetizer. The beer batter was crisp and well seasoned. They were delicious. It was a huge mound, so we took half home to reheat in the air fryer. For our meals, I got a patty melt and my husband got the smash burger. Patty melts are usually greasy, so I was expecting that. It wasn't as greasy as other patty melts I've had, and the flavor was in every bite. It was a little too salty though. The fries looked delicious, seasoned and hot, but they tasted a little old. Now the smash burger. It was billed as a double patty, so we both thought it would be thin patties, but each patty was at least 3/4" thick, so it was a lot of meat. The onions on both entrees were perfectly sautéed, and the Cajun fries tasted fresher than my classic fries, so I'm sure the traditional fries are yummy when they are fresh. Side note, I didn't order the bourbon, but their bourbon list was quite extensive and had some of my favorite labels on it. The whole drink menu looked great. read more

I've had Good Vibes on my radar for quite some time, but hadn't found time to try it as I don't frequent "Pearwood" very often. I had dinner with my fellow Pearland Elite Jennifer A., a few months back. We had just finished a workout at Cyclebar and we were searching for a place to have dinner. We got there about an hour before close and opted for a seat on the patio. We definitely felt the coastal vibe from the moment we walked in. I was surprised to see how full the patio was. It seemed like quite a few patrons were just hanging out on the patio enjoying some adult bevies. Our server was Sierra. She was very nice, but slow at times. We had ordered appetizers and waited for her to return so we could order entrées. We probably waited 15-20 minutes before she came by to let us know that the kitchen was about to close so we hurriedly put our orders in because appetizers were not gonna be enough. I believe she said the kitchen closes at 8:40pm. The cocktails looked good, but I wasn't in the mood to drink so I opted for a Virgin Strawberry Basil Lemonade. It was good and refreshing. Beachin Deviled Eggs - you can choose from 3 flavors (Crisp Fried Oyster, Bourbon Bacon Chutney, or Smoked Salmon Dip). I had the Bacon Chutney and the Smoked Salmon Dip and they were fantastic! I really enjoyed the flavors and creaminess of the Smoked Salmon Dip. It's a different take on deviled eggs. Bacon Brussels Sprouts - these are a shared side so the portion was generous. They were very flavorful! The texture was great and it had a nice char to it. I ate some for lunch the next day and they tasted so good! Baja Fish Taco - these are a la carte. I had one and it was a nice size. The batter on the fish was good and I liked the different flavors of the fish, slaw, pico, and chipotle aioli. At the end of our meal, it took Sierra a long time to close us out. We were one of the last patrons in the restaurant by the time she realized that she hadn't run our cards. Maybe she was having a long day so I won't hold it against her. I enjoyed my meal and I want to try some of the other menu items because I'm intrigued by the menu. I finally got around to checking out Good Vibes Coastal Kitchen. The family and I were looking to try something new for my sister in law's birthday and she suggested this spot. It's been around for a few years now and it is a total shame it took this long for me to get here because this place is great! It is located on the east side of Pearland and bordering Friendswood. They totally transformed this once German bier Haus into a little tropical oasis in the suburbs. The good vibes were definitely happening when we walked in on a Friday evening. It was a hot day, but the large patio seemed to be the place to be with lively, live music going on. We made reservations so we were seated pretty quickly. Inside, the place has lots of seating as well and has a Hawaiian décor going on. Customer service was great from start to finish. They have a variety of different items on their menu, mainly consisting of either seafood or burgers. The appetizer menu probably has the most mix of foods though. My family and I were locked in and ready to eat as soon as we got their so we immediately ordered entrees and skipped apps. I ran into some friends coming in and they said the oysters and crawfish were excellent. For my entree, I went with the Spicy Patty Melt. The name is what caught my attention. I've had patty melts before but not spicy. I had to try it. Food came out in a decent amount of time. My plate looked very promising when they set it down in front of me. From the first bite I could tell they use quality ingredients. The angus beef patty was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It sat between buttery, toasted sourdough that gave every bite a little bit of crispy texture. They topped it with pepper jack, sautéed onions, mushrooms and jalapenos, and a chipotle aioli. All the flavors worked in perfect harmony. It was probably one of the better burgers I have had in awhile. You have your choice of regular or Cajun fries as a side. For an additional charge you can get garlic or sweet potato fries, or a salad. I went with Cajun fries. They seemed like fresh cut fries which I love. They went a little heavy on the seasoning, but I did not leave one behind. My family got a variety of different burgers and sandwiches and one person got fish and chips. No food was left behind so I assume everyone enjoyed their meal. We couldn't have a birthday meal without dessert so we shared the Island Bread Pudding. I am a sucker for bread pudding and this again was another top notch item. It came out nice and warm, the textures were spot on. They topped it with a pineapple rum sauce, pineapples and vanilla gelato. I would come back just for this. Overall, we were highly impressed by this place. The vibes are definitely good here. Minus the side eyes from the patrons in the parking lot and a few in the establishment, the name speaks for itself, it really was a good vibe! We had the pleasure of having Abby as our server and she was great! Even before being seated a staff member asked had we been helped, which we said no and someone came over right away. Abby seated us and gave recommendations on drinks, explained the full bar, and even told us that they had live music on certain days. Also she told us that there was a program for loyal customers. She definitely made us feel comfortable. I had the Kraken Burger which had caramelized onions, mushrooms, and cheese. It was very delicious. The patty wasn't super thick, there was more bread than patty, but the bread was extremely soft so it didn't take away from anything. My husband had the Mahi Mahi Burger he enjoyed it as well. I had Cajun fries and my husband had sweet potato fries and they both were delicious with the ranch and other sauce that was offered. I had the Paloma and it was slightly watered down so there wasn't that much flavor, but towards the end I did feel a little something so I can't complain just wish I tasted more flavor. I was craving some seafood. We decided to try out Good Vibes! I am glad we did. The place has a nice outdoor section with live music. On a Friday evening, we were seated within 5 minutes. We had loaded lobster potatoes. It was yum. I wish there was more lobster. They were out of hot dogs and a specific beer they've always had on tap. OKAY. I go in today and order a Dr. Pepper. They're out. I had the same server today as a month ago. I asked if they had hot dogs. She said they have the kids one but not the adult- discontinued. At least they have the kid hot dogs. I order my meal the gumbo with the big slice of cornbread cake. They're out of corn bread and I got a Hawaiian roll instead. Disappointing, but whatever. At this time mind you it's about 5 not many people outside and lots of families with toddlers. Kids like to run around the empty patio where they have now placed wooden tables. Years ago kids would bring toys and it was truly kid friendly. My toddler and another were playing and running around and rudely were told they can't be on the patio it's closed. They put up chairs. We keep the kids off that part of the patio. More kids come, they go to the patio, they get ruder and close more of the patio. Rudely stacking more chairs and even telling adults rudely using the patio door. We had to leave. Most young families go eat early before the rush- normally kid friendly. Not today. Someone asked why and the lady said "I'm not paid enough to know."
