Inventory is often incorrect, to the extent that I wonder if it's intentional. I'll plan my shop before I arrive, and pretty much every trip will have 1 or 2 items that are not available. The shelving is also incorrect (eg today I was looking for moisturizer that I couldn't find in aisle with other skincare products, I check in the app and it has it in a different aisle. I check that location and it's all petfood. I've also had issues where frozen product (icecream bars etc) had obviously completely melted at some point and refrozen all as a mess (which you can't check without opening carton so I now do that before leaving store). Last trip had to pull down several boxes of eggs until finding a box with cartons that didn't have broken eggs. The first time I couldn't find a product I was looking for I asked at customer service and they were completely unhelpful. Often there will be zero shopping carts etc. The upside is that almost always when I visit this location it's not busy so at least it's easy to move around the store, go though checkout and security etc. read more

BJ's Riverdale rose to the occasion and delivered for a very important occasion! Needed a last minute birthday cake for my Father in Law's 95th birthday. Was in a panic, the beautiful cake that was designed for the occasion was ruined by a mishap. This BJ's is a different set up, located within a strip mall. Upon entering the location, customers take an escalator downstairs to enter the store. The day I visited the escalator was not working. Walk in, and the place is bright, clean, and organized enough that you don't feel like you're on an episode of Supermarket Survivor. The aisles are wide, the shelves are stocked, and the produce section doesn't look like it's been through a food fight. The atmosphere is quiet, no crowds, for a Saturday late morning. The prices are amazing! This location has one of the nicest, well stocked, freshly prepared baked goods department that I have ever experienced at a BJ's. Special thanks to Samir the Manager of Bakery. Whom went above and beyond to make my Father in laws birthday cake special by taking the time to put special designs, writings, and gave it a special touch. Could not have been more grateful, and highly appreciative for the thoughtfulness and kindness. My Father in law was all smiles, and is very easy to please. Please please whoever is in charge of this location pay to get all four elevators fixed properly. This store is located in the basement with parking on the second floor it's just poor management not to invest in your equipment. Your store is regularly busy with everyone using the shopping carts to get around so not having any of your elevator s working sufficiently is disgusting. read more

I went into BJs and the lady at customer service was beyond rude. She threw the card at me when I went up to the counter and had a bad attitude. I complained to the manager and he was excellent he took care of all the issues. I will never go back to this bjs again. Most of the people that work there are rude and I feel if you don't want to work there then don't. They are very lucky they have a great manager cause it's the only thing that saves that particular store. read more

I use to love going on BJ's runs... but this location has changed that! I now place my orders online for delivery... Going into this location is just a recipe for a disaster. They have slow moving lines... employees who do not want to work... low stock... drivers (unofficial cab drivers? or whatever you want to call them) outside harassing shoppers... escalators that never work... I can go on and on... Anyways- with placing online orders I have also noticed issues with this location... when I have attempted getting fresh produce it has been a huge fail... they always come beat up or the expiration date is fast approaching. BJ's has great items for a high price value ratio. Once you start shopping there it's difficult to adjust to the higher prices other places. They also carry a wider variety of items than Costco. They don't comprise quality on both brand names and their private label brands. The app is fantastic there are tremendous advantages using it, including keeping track of the items you usually buy and all the coupons you can use for your purchases. The coupons are great. Disadvantage for Manhattan residents locations are pretty far away. read more

Your customers litter the neighborhood with your carts. That encourages people to use your carts as garbage cans. Your carts are everywhere. Do something about this. Invest in electronic carts that can only go so far before the wheels lock. Do something - you can't control what customers do with their garbage, but you can control how many carts litter the neighborhood by installing or investing in carts that will lock the wheels when they reach the end of the block you are located at. I, for one, will never be a customer of yours. Seeing your carts everywhere in this neighborhood is depressing. read more

It has been many years since I have patronize a BJ's due to loss from a relationship who was my man of many hats. This location is in Kingsbridge, Bronx, NY and there is a free parking rooftop lot on site. There are abundant self-checkout registers and the line moves moderately. My co-worker and I were able to find our one item without any problems. Merchandise appears fully stocked and organized. My family is a total of six but we have visitors come over to eat casually so we buy in bulks. This is a great place to buy bulks and save money. I love the location since its the only wholesale close by. They sent me coupons by mail and sometimes there's other magazine at the store that offer some sales. What i love is there accommodation to use my expired coupons. they don't do much samples with the products but they still have great deals. Also just be-careful buying fruit as some of them were not as fresh and spoiled. As for the lines sometimes can get crazy but now they have self checkout and lines that moves pretty quick. They have also in the area chipotle, buffalo wild wings, pet Store etcc. read more

This location is a good one. Although this place gets crowded they move really quickly to get you out, I like that. It has many diffrent variety of things to get. They also always have coupons upon arrival to help you save money. Sometimes I am disappointed because they advertise things that they dont seem to have at all. This is why Im taking away a star. This is the worst BJs I have ever been to. Anytime you go either the elevators are not working or the escalators are out. This is designed as a community store but if you are handicapped gaining access to this facility is it if reach most of the times. Customer service is lacking and cashiers don't seem to care. If you need something that requires assistance be prepared to wait for a period of time. Overall I try not to go to this store unless in a pinch rather drive to port Chester or even over the bridge to rockland. read more

All BJ's are set up the same way, this one is no different. The shelves were fully stocked & luckily there's always staff on the floor if needing assistance. For a Saturday afternoon, it was a good little crowd in there, but they did have enough registers open & the self check out was moving along as well. I also think it's really good, that the staff member assisting with the self check out, was very proactive with helping people when needing assistance & not having to look around for help, like I've experienced at other BJ's. read more

We have been long-standing members of Costco for many years since moving to Westchester but the Yonkers location never makes me love to visit. It's super crowded and most of their items are for families that have a team roster with the amount members. We're only a family of three and now, since my son is away at school, there's only the two of us. During one of my son's visits home, we needed to pick up some items before dropping him back to campus and since we were near a BJ's, we decided to sign up for a trial membership and bought him much of the items he required. The best thing about BJ's is that they have many items that are not so huge. I mean, you can't have too much toilet paper of paper towels but I definitely don't need a six pack of 1 lb packages of cheese. This location is closest to us which makes this store even more appealing. It's only a ten minute drive away and yesterday was the first time we visited. It's was surprisingly empty and I thought that was the norm but a guy checking the receipts on the way out said it is definitely super packed on a regular basis. I hope that's not the case but in any case, we'll probably be getting a permanent membership to BJ's from now on. I just think it's a better fit for our family. read more

Last night my sons were asked to open their backpacks for a bag check. Now, while we have never experienced that procedure at Costco or BJ's, we were inclined to respect the "protocol".... the real issue began when my husband and I stood there watching the man allow other people with very large backpacks and even a suitcase walk by without a bag check. As I continued to watch him, the security guard began picking and choosing who he would bag check after that. He would stop one person and then 5 others would walk right on through. This was a horrible and humiliating experience! I will not give my business to a company that practices racial profiling! Hiring people that don't really care for their job. Im a Costco Customer for life and when i found out that BJ's was opening near me i was exited. Opening week the stairs didnt work and we got stuck in the elevator and someone had to come get us out. Not a big deal right? wrong? the next trip none of the soda machines worked and the deals they sold were with sodas but they would not replace the sodas from the broken fountain to bottle sodas. 2 more weeks passed and went back they still had the same issue, stairs broke again and soda machines not fixed. I have been going for small things here and there since its close to home but last week as the worse day. Went to get meat at the Deli, two girls working and 2 customers ahead of me. I take my ticket and wait. These two employees where bored with such an attitude and when a customer approached to tell them their order they rolled their eyes and walked away. IM wtf is this and looking around for a manager. almost 17 minutes later my turn. She threw the previous customer order in the counter and said to me "what you want"? I said x and y and waited. It was like watching paint dry i mean 0 sense of urgency or care for the customer. I walked out with my stuff and kept looking for a manager and since i could not find one i spoke to the cashier and she told me that others had told her the same thing but they need to report it to management and i said but they are hard to find and people dont want to make lines to speak to someone. Smaller then most I have been too, so they don't have certain items off the bat, but otherwise your typical lay out. I believe parking at the moment is free and due new opening everything is spanking clean and the staff is fresh and unjaded and somewhat clueless. I AM generally hopeful that this location does not go downhill like 149th Bronx. I'd really like to shorten my visits to NJ down to maybe short trips to Sam's club. I am sure I'll have an update in a month or so if not sooner depending turn of events. read more

Having just come from Yonker's Costco 15 minutes away, I went into BJ's to return one item and get a few items that Costco didn't have. I joined a month ago with their $20 promo offer. The escalators spanning two floors were still broken after 4 weeks. Apparently, they have been problematic since this BJ opened in 2016. Nobody I asked knew when they would be repaired. Next, I went to the return desk and waited and waited and waited. Two cashiers were working with their respective customers for at least 10 minutes. When my turn came, I encountered a long wait as well. The problem: slow computers. Corporate never updated these systems that are more than 7 years old now. They slowed down the entire line. Pity, since BJs earned more than $14 billion last year and not a nickle to update customer facing PCs. Checking out was another catastrophe with lines for the self-service all the way down the aisle. I chose a cashier line and discovered it was a huge mistake. The Cashier had no cash and made the customer in front of me (who started making racist comments and cursing at me for no reason) wait forever for his $2 change. Compared to Costco, BJ's was a $h!tshow. I won't comment on the state of the rest of the store. Prices considerably higher that Costco and the service just abominable. Find another BJs or just go to Costco. read more

They are Prejudiced and racist! Seemed like I was the only person different in ethnicity standing in a self-checkout line. I needed help and so I had my checkout line blink. A few customer service personnel were working and I saw one that was available to help since she was just standing there. She made a several eye contacts with me; she clearly saw me waiting for help with my light blinking, while NO other lights around me were blinking. Then she comes towards me, but stops before to help a lady who was busy bagging her stuff, again, her light wasn't blinking, she volunteers to help with bagging. I waited. She then goes around me to the next line, again, whose light wasn't even blinking, to help with whatever it was. Then she stands there faced away from me, standing and waiting to help the same lady. After getting tired of waiting for about 10 minutes or so. I said to her - you know you're ignoring me. She then responds to me - no I am not ignoring you - without even looking at me! No apologies from her whatsoever. She then carried on to another line!!!! If she was so busy helping others who are not even asking for help, why couldn't she ask someone else to help me? I was so mad I wanted to make sure she came to help me. But another person came around from the other end saw me and helped me so I could get the heck out of there. At that moment, I just wanted to leave that place. It happened a couple of months ago, in 2018. Seriously, BJ's needs to do a better job in training servicing all kinds of ethnicity. I've been working for many years and EVERY work place gave me some sort of diversity training. What I experienced there that day was racism and prejudice. And that experience of mine will be told to everyone I know including ALL ethnicity. I am not going to use BJ's there ever again! read more

I go to Broadway often.. Stop and Shop, The veggie/fruit market across the street and Chipotles up near BJ. I have had to stop by this location a couple of times. I am a die hard Costco fan, although I know Costco is much more expensive but they have more items( I only go to the one in Yonkers. Sam's clubs always seem empty but I guess that because Wal-Mart has its own brand and they are owned by the same family. So long review longer, this BJ is good for me to pick up a few things here and there. They have their own coupons and I believe they except other types of coupons. It is small and compact, the lines are unnecessarily long, so I only get 5 things, not more or less. read more

Very similar to Sam's Club, except it has an extremely small electronic section. Food prices were good and meat section was very well stocked. It's nice they offer circular coupons to help get a few buck$ off. The best thing is, there is free parking at the roof top level. One advice, do your shopping early. read more

The spade is large but variety small. We have a Stop and Shop down the street and it's consistently less expensive than the BJ's and you are not required to buy more than you might. The checkout lines are always long with largely disinterested staff busy chatting with one another as they lazily check people out. If by chance you have am item that doesn't scan and needs a professional check, expect a long wait. Try to buy an item like a TV where.you have to bring a slip of paper to the checkout and have her retrieve it for you and you will have a very long wait. The lack of variety is also frustrating. They will have a pallette of Honey Nut Cheerios and not stock and plain Cheerios. Endless supply of chicken stock, no need whatsoever. Goya products galore, which is nice. There is no fish monger and the seafood is mostly frozen and uniformly bad. The plusses are a reasonably a well stocked deli counter where you can get cut to order cold cuts, a nice selection of butchered on premises meats. A surprisingly good selection of yogurts. Produce is overpriced and packaged, but the quality of everything other than lre-cut fruits and vegetable good. If you have a car, I would suggest a short ride up to the Costco and Stew Leonards in Yonkers or even better Arthur Avenue. If you don't have a cad, I'd still say the other grocery stores in the neighborhood are collectively better: Garden Gourmet has a much better selection of produce and gourmet food items, a much better bakery and deli. Stop and Shop has much better prices and a good butcher but tends to be sold out of whatever meats are in sale except frozen value packs of chicken parts. read more

The worst and I mean this as someone who hates shopping but appreciates places that provide me with bulk so I can do less shopping trips in my life....anyways forgetting that long runon sentence, this place is the worst BJs in existence. Long lines, little to no air conditioning making it a sauna, and staff that doesn't know what they are doing. I went yesterday and it was a mess. A gentleman passed out due to the heat and it took EMS longer than 20 minutes to get him out of the store. By then I believe this person was dead since he did not seem to be breathing and pale. Staff was running not knowing what to do and people were yelling and it was chaos. This place obviously needs new management and trained staff not to mention that it is MESSY. never ever had I seen a place as messy and disgusting as this. Never will I retuning to this place. My first time here with a relative. Highly impressed, easy parking, bring your own bags, have BJ card folks, they do ask for it, all aisles fully stock, lots of everything! I need to become a member lol, seriously. Staff seem nice throughout except the Security team. Security not so friendly, we said thank you and wished him a good evening just to get that silent hard face "F-off" look. In fact, there was an NYPD officer posted nearby and quickly acknowledged us by saying "have a good night". So simple! I have been a BJ's member since the beginning of the company when there was only one club in this area and that was in Rutherford NJ, that is my club. Since I live in New York, I was very happy when a club opened in Riverdale, NY, it is conveniently closer to me. However their customer service is not the greatest. A few negative experience. Meat, milk and perishable products that are already expired, have been found in their shelves. I even brought home fish once, which stunk my whole house. I definitely took it back. Today was even worse. I went earlier to pick up some items. I saw an air fryer that my daughter want to buy in Amazon. Their price was $179.99 with $30.01 discount. After speaking to my daughter I went back to pick one up. I noticed at the self check out that the price did not bring up correctly. I moved to customer service to get my $30 discount. After a back and fourth with the woman who supposed to be the manager. She walked me back to where the items were and saw the sign, them went to say that she could not give me the discount because customers switch prices all the time. I asked if she can direct me to the item listed on the tag, she said they don't have it anymore. This is very bad business, and very poor management. I am also a manager. I just wish that enough people complaint so that this club can become as good as the other ones. read more
