Who doesn't love BJ's? Well, it's time for a confession. Even though most people love BJ's, I honestly don't love BJ's all that much. This is the member only Store of course, and if you're not a member, you don't pay the annual fee, and you aren't having too much fun shopping in here since you can't actually buy anything. Barbie doll used to be a member and wanted to check it out, and one of the employees was a little bit weird about her not having a card - but then it's New York city so we kind of expected that. We didn't find any deals in here that made us think that she should renew her membership or revive it rather, which she has been considering. I don't normally write reviews for wholesale clubs because it's wholesale club. But I feel that this is important for everyone to know. On June 27th of 2021, I went to the BJs in Downtown Flushing (the one on 40th Road in SkyView Mall) to purchase SlimFast Advanced Nutrition Shakes. I didn't pay much attention to the expiration when purchasing the shakes, trusting that stores don't sell expired products. Unfortunately for this purchase, I just realized this morning (after consuming about half the pack) the expiration date on the bottles was "October 10, 2020." The shakes were over 9 months expired. The worst part is that when I contacted the BJs in SkyView Mall about this situation, they didn't offer any apology and just said to bring the products back for store credit. The person I spoke tried to wave me off like this is not a big deal. Please check expiration dates on their food products. read more

Update during Covid-19: They now have free parking, as long as you spend at least $75 (which is quite easy to do here)!! Just get your parking ticket stamped upon exiting BJs. If you need to go to other stores at the mall, go for it! You have 3 hrs of free parking, starting from the entry time in your parking ticket. I came back to this location once again because the BJs in Long Island are just not as well stocked as this location. I was able to find Bounty paper towels (limit 2 per household). But, I was not able to find Scott toilet paper. They had other brands but not Scott. It's confusing for me when I come to this location, since I'm not too familiar with their layout but the more I come, the better it gets. This location continues to be well stocked and I will continue to come here when I can't find what I need in other locations (even though it's a little out of my way). Earlier this week I signed up for BJ's $25 promotion for their Inner Circle membership card which normally is $50 something for the year. I picked up my new card today at the member services. They got rid of having a picture on the card...darn it I looked mad cute today too lol The girl handed me a coupon book and another coupon pamphlet on a stand by the entrance/exit. There was an older Indian lady working at the checkout lane who really needs to learn about customer service. After scanning my membership card, she tried to get me to sign up for the credit card but I politely refused. Then (because she had scanned my card) on the screen popped up the usual "Welcome to BJs, are you (my full name)?". I selected yes, and then the screen went to the credit card offers. At this point she was already pissed off that I had declined to get the card (I believe I had to tell her no twice) and said angrily "Why you select yes when you say no??" while jabbing at the decline button on the screen. I SELECTED YES BECAUSE THEY ASKED ME TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY. How did she not know that, and also have the audacity to get angry that I'm not signing up for another credit card?? Came here twice. The first time I came here was to buy the portable cooling air conditioners. The prices were good. The second time was with my mom to buy some snacks. We've been here a few times since we've moved to the area. I've been very picky about what stores we go into during the pandemic but we decided it was time to stock up. They follow all safety protocols (masks, social distancing markers, etc) and I've found in the times we've been it hasn't been super crowded and if an aisle has a few too many people we just walk away. It's been fully stocked for the most part especially with the essentials and other items and the lines have never been crazy long, a BJs hallmark. I'm a regular at BJ's customer so yesterday I decided to check out the new location in Flushing and pickup a couple of items. This BJ's is located on the ground floor of the huge Condo complex off of College Point just south of Roosevelt Ave. The place is crawling with construction workers and trucks so it was quite hazardous visiting on the weekday. The BJ's is like any other BJ's BUT what ticked me off was the lack of parking. The only parking is the regular resident parking which made me paid $3.00 for my 1/2 hours of shopping. There is no street parking because of all the construction. The $3 did allowed me to park the whole day but I only need 30 minutes. The sign said $0.96 per hour but it is $3 to get in. I asked the people inside BJ's about this parking situation and they said there is no planning for a separate parking for BJ's customers. So why do I want to shopping here when there are two other BJ's near by? (Middle Village and College Point). OK, so I tried it once now I will go back to my other BJ's. read more

This place gets chaotic, but you have to keep in mind that it's in the middle of flushing AND inside of Skyview Mall, where everyone goes to take advantage of the 2-3hrs of free parking. There's no cellphone signal in here. This is located in the basement of the mall. Staff doesn't seem too bad. There's a great influx of customers, so expect the little old Asian ladies with their shopping carts. The store does not look like the best stocked one, but it has the things that I need. Honestly, their toilet paper deals are not great. You can find the similar deal on Amazon for the same price, about $0.50 a roll, and you can have that shipped to your door. Last time I was there, I needed to buy butter on wholesale. lol It was a good deal (4 lbs for $12) for the store brand. My cookies were on fleet. Yes, I forgot my BJ's card that time and had to borrow it from someone behind me and they were very kind about it. Remember that BJ's is no Cotsco when it comes to samples, so chill. This is the closest BJs to me via walking distance. 3 stars cuz it's new and shiny! ENTERING VIA THE NORTH SIDE If you want to enter via the Roosevelt Avenue entrance, there's still a lot of scaffolding and construction going on it the sidewalk. You keep walking until you hit an indoor parking garage entrance, walk inside, bear right, and take the elevator... down (I think). Afterward, you'll see the BJs entrance. THE INTERIOR New, shiny, clean. Not much people in the morning. Smaller than the College Point one. Sample ladies around during the weekends. I don't how long it'll be before it stops being new and shiny... Restrooms straight down past the checkout all the way at the corner. CUSTOMER SERVICE The people there don't seem to know what they're doing. I was made to sign up for corporate discount membership for my mom (-_-;;) and my first time getting a ID was confusing. My sister got pissed since she has membership and said that I was suppose to get coupons and stuff which the guy didn't give me. (I did as the guy "is that all?" and he said yes.) Maybe it was a Saturday morning and everyone was groggy. Maybe it was his first day. Maybe he didn't actually work there and was chilling at the counter with his friend. I don't know. I have a love-hate relationship with this BJs. Pro: -Located at Skyview Mall. Convenient to get here by public transportation. For drivers, there's free parking at the mall for a couple of hours. -Good produce selection. I love buying the fresh organic salads and fresh fruit. -Getting free food samples. -This BJs has self-checkout. Cons: -From my experience, membership service counter is so slow. I usually see 2 staff on duty. -Sometimes the items that I'm looking for aren't in stock. -The checkout lines are extremely long during the weekends, including self-checkout. You can expect to wait 15-20 minutes on the line. (Recommend coming on a weekday. I came here on a Friday once and it's less crowded.) -The food concession area is dirty. read more

This BJ'S was always really crowded for my liking. I came here today during Memorial Day (Monday) and there is a short line! Perhaps it's because it's a holiday, but whatever the reason I have never seen the line so short before. If only the lines were this short all the time I would always come here. I suspect that the reason why the lines are shorter than before is because you now have to pay for parking which a recent add on. This location is really organized and there are plenty of store reps walking around to assist you. A good location for your shopping needs. Always remember to use them handy coupons to get the biggest bang for your buck. Decent price and quality. Lots of items to choose from such as clothing, toys, daily supplies, cookware, food, drinks, etc. Lots of people at all times especially evening and weekends though. Crazy lines but usually wait for about 5-15minutes so it's alright..even the self checkout section. Lots of parking spaces and walking distance to a couple bus stops and a bit further but still within distance to the 7 train. BJs is very similar to Costco in a sense of selling wholesale items but the difference is that they also sell retail sized items as well. Placed in a large warehouse just like their competitor, the aisles are large with product stacked high up on these industrial shelves. This store has just about everything you could possibly want, from home and office items to food items to business items. They also offer wine and liquor which is separate from the store. BJs sells many name brands such as Tyson, Oscar Myers. Tropicana, Nature's Valley and many more. Their very own brand name is HarvestLand, they have some pretty tasty products from this line. I prefer BJs because they have much more items I like, it feels good to buy in bulk at a great price. It last long enough and you're getting a bargain, who wouldn't love that. To shop here you do need to purchase a membership which could run you the least of $50 for one year, this includes entry and mail-in coupons. I think you do receive better offers if you're an executive member. This is really great for those of you who want to purchase bulk sizes and save more on great brands. read more

Saturday afternoon and I found myself in BJ's starving! That is a bad thing around here since in this shopping center they have VERY slim pickins as far as places to eat! I am still confused and kind of mad that they took out the 5 guys that was here right next to chuck e cheese! What? Why?!! Now that leaves shoppers with the choice of a subway sandwich, some Asian restaurant, and....the dreaded Applebee's -____- So, the BJ's shopping HAD to get done for our Father's Day cookout so we figured, "just this once lets go to their cafe"...yea just this once and probably never again! Hubby was excited to see some Perdue steamed bags of spicy wings, and I settled for a greasy paper thin slice of pizza. Could've been way better but I suppose there was some room for it to be worse right? We were desperate. Anyway the issue wasn't so much the food but the FILTH in which customers were expected to sit next to, on top of, and around! I have honestly never seen anything like it, no upkeep, and absolutely no fukks were given either! Sorry but come on! Would it kill someone to take out the trash, mop a bit (there was a leak in the overflowing garbage can) if someone would've fallen or hurt themselves, then what? Also, it wouldn't be so terrible if one was able to just avoid the area, but the garbage was sharing the space with the condiments, and the utensils!! Absolutely unacceptable. An employee of the cafe came by, ignored the messes around her, and just came to refill the utensils..it was unreal. My husband was standing next to her as he needed some napkins and was waiting for her to finish. I heard him mention to her how someone maybe should clean up the garbage spilling over on to the floor and table, she ignored him. I wouldn't have known he even had addressed her had I not witnessed it myself! No reaction just get right on stocking and then walked away. Again, sorry to bother you at work Little Miss. I got a membership at BJ's because Groupon was having a sale. I paid $35 dollars and got a $25 gift card to use at BJ's. I came here on a Sunday to get some toothpaste, laundry detergent and Clorox wipes. There was a million people there and the lines were super long. I think next time, I will go on a weekday instead of weekend. The parking is free for the first three hours, so you could go to BJ's, Target, Best Buy and others. BJ's offers free samples of their food products, so you can try some of their products before you buy it. They have a huge selection of items to buy which include food, clothes, books, movies, technology, and daily items (shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent). They also send you coupons once a month, so you get items for discounted prices. I brought a set of 4 Colgate toothpastes for $10. It gets really crowded during the weekend, so I suggest going on the weekday and use self check out, it faster. read more

You think BJ's is expensive, I tried Sam's club... it's worse. I go to BJ's first, then the Grocery store last. They take coupons even if it expired on Monday. Sam's doesn't. They mail you a thick coupon book. You walk in the store, there is a rack of coupon flyers for instant coupons. You can use as many coupons for 1 item, as long as it pertains to the item. The secret to this location is to come during the week. As with most super store shopping the weekend is when this place is swamped. A major complaint I have about this place is the stocking of the water and some of the areas is never complete while shopping and often impedes the customer experience. Some of the workers sit there chatting instead of stocking the areas. Shouldn't this be done before customers enter the store? or much more efficiently? I visit this BJ maybe once every month and to me this place is okay and convenient for Flushing residents. What is really attractive about this place is that there is not much crowd and no long line! Other BJs have problem with customers carrying bunch of stuff in their carts waiting on line forever. Be happy, this one does not make you wait! Pretty well stocked and nicely organized stuffs are what makes me keep coming here. Now, FINALLY, they have free parking policy for customers so there is no frustrated customers paying extra parking fee just to save money shopping at this BJ. I think over time, this place will eventually attract more customers even it is kind of a hidden gem at this point. Hope there won;t be a long line then as it is now haha. Since this location is in Flushing, they have asian offerings that you wouldn't normally find at other BJs in the US. Sushi bar, packaged dumplings, rice flour, noodles, pastries, etc. They haven't been getting much customers as many people prefer the nearby location by College Point that offers free parking. There is parking here at the garage but it will cost you around $3. Because there are less people coming be aware of food that is coming close to the expiration date. read more

This BJ's is the worst because of the parking situation. The parking is not only tight and dangerous in the lot. I have to pay for the parking while I already paid to shop there....this is so wrong on so many levels this is ridiculous. I am never going to this location again. They made a mistake by opening up a BJ's location at the Skyview Mall. First of all they sell in bulk so you need a car. You can't even get picked up because there is no access to the front of the store unless you pay to get into the parking lot, even if you do not park! So if you call an Uber to pick you up at this BJ's expect to pay for their $3 to just pick you up at this BJs! Couldn't they find a better location in Queens with room for a parking lot?
