The customer service is terrible! I ordered a stove, a purchase of nearly $2K... It's been over two weeks for the delivery and they're coming up with some excuse or the other for a delay. I've asked them at the very least can you provide updates and the manager is either on a break and call back or on vacation - I've had to call multiple times to speak to a store personel promising me that the manager will call back but never does. Be cautious about having free delivery. They sent me two damaged ACs. One was completely dented which I didn't know until my super opened the box to install. The second one (to replace the first damaged one) was delivered in a box with a gaping giant hole and a scratched AC inside. Seriously incredible. Thankfully, the third arrived and looked ok. Zero compensation for this fiasco. Still waiting for the price guarantee refund to the other AC I purchased. Horrible experience. Inspect everything if you buy from here. My wife & I have been going to PC Richard in Astoria for years. Prices are comparable, sometimes better, than national chains. And they have all the major brands. We have bought our share of TVs there, but mostly major appliances. The key reason PC Richard and the Astoria store is our go-to for those prices is delivery and installation. They deliver on time and installations for us, with a rare exception a couple of years ago, are professional and top notch. Plus our usual salesperson there, Scott, is a real pro and attentive to our needs. This week I had to replace an in-wall A/C and purchased a Friedrich on Monday and it was delivered and installed on-time with little stress. Went to return a ring camera the so called manager was very rude, disrespectful and dismissive. He started giving me attitude and had the audacity to tell me that he was to busy on top of rushing me. I told him if your too busy get someone else to help me there's around 10 other people on the floor. Told him that I was an old time customer and that he should show respect towards people. HORRIBLE SALES! HORRIBLE SERVICE! HORRIBLE PRODUCTS!!!!!! I bought a fridge and went in person to pick it up. Salespeople sold me a defective fridge which stopped working in two days. He offered for an exchange but charged me extra 75 dollars for replacing the bad fridge. I thought this fee was for installation for waterline for the icemaker so I paid. Delivery was HORRIBLE. They laid the fridge on floor at an angle, making loud noise. And forgot to install the waterline. AND After looking at their website, delivery was listed free. In February, I purchased a TV with PC Richard . About a month ago, TV began malfunctioning: the screen freezes and sometimes it won't turn on at all. I reported the issue, and a technician inspected the unit, then arranged for it to be picked up. Since then, I've received conflicting information and no clear updates. I've visited the store, spoken with multiple managers, called customer service, and followed up repeatedly--with no resolution. Promises of callbacks were never honored. If you can avoid this location then do so. The salesman literally stalked us the whole time. I understand you work on commission, but if I need to politely say 3x that I'll ask you for help when I need to then just listen. When I did need help the person helping me was great. I'm giving three starts because I almost walked out of the store with an incorrect email that I spelled about 4 or 5 times. Usually, managers and sales people try to get you a great deal on the items in the store. I didn't feel like they even tried to do this. Granted I ended up canceling the order within four hours of leaving the store because the item I wanted was a discontinued item. Plus I noticed that the date for the actual delivery was incorrect. Terrible services ! I bought a refrigerator at a tent sale and the salesperson assured me that they work perfectly well but have minor scratches. No mentioning that they are sold "as is". After it was delivered, we realized that it was actually not working so all my food went bad. Went in looking for an air conditioner. My old one of 13 years finally died. A man named SCOTT helped me. Scott was polite, professional and went out of his way to help. All employees wore masks and maintained social distancing. He showed me the make/models I might be interested in and we discussed the pros and cons of each model. I had always had a Friedrich but was open to another option. I selected the Friedrich 8000 BTU. I got an extended care plan and installation with removal of the old AC. The installation happened as scheduled and am very happy. It cooled off the house in less than an hour. The unit is very quiet. I'm a happy and cooled off customer !!! read more

I have bought appliances in many stores, but somehow, I keep coming back to this particular location, and there is a reason why. I recently decided to buy a washer and dryer. Although I live in Manhattan and recently moved to the Bronx, I came to the PC Richards- Astoria location for a straightforward reason... Customer Service. As soon as I walked through their door, I was greeted, and Constantine provided exceptional customer service since I arrived till my washer and dryer were installed. He was very knowledgeable and explained the pros and cons of the two brands in mind. He even showed me some features (ventless) in the dryer that I was not aware of. He took his time, and I did not feel rushed in no part of the conversation (like they had in other locations). He even helped me compare the prices to ensure I was getting more for my money. When making the purchases, he offered me the items that I needed to install the washer and dryer (stackable kit) and explained that due to the supply and demand delivery was taking longer than usual. However, he wanted me to know (and he said this several times) the process to check on the status of my order was pretty simple, and I should use it if I didn't hear back from PC Richards in a few weeks. The day before my delivery confirmation, he realized that the stackable kit sent to the store was not the right one. He immediately notified me and placed another order to replace the item. My washer and dryer were installed, and I am so grateful for Constantine's help and support, and outstanding service. I will certainly come back here again. read more

Three years ago I purchased a refrigerated and opted for a pricey extended 8-year warranty. The unit suddenly doesn't retain the proper cold temperature and is now in fact warm. A call to their service department for a service call appointment has a wait of 9-13 days. A refrigerator is a necessity, it's not a washer/dryer or a television. The temporary solution they provided is for me to purchase a refrigerator from them as a loaner, which of course will cost more than the extended warranty. Plus the costs for delivery and pickup. Therefore P.C. Richard's extended warranty is worthless for products that will require a timely service repair. They are not set up to provide repairs for an urgent necessity product such as a refrigerator. I consider this a big scam. I do not recommend P.C. Richard for any refrigerator purchase. read more

You can see how disrespectful your contractor is on videos. He is rude. He needs to learn how to communicate with others. Also, I'd like to alert you to the possibility of your employee and this contractor working together to earn money by harassing individuals. Because he specifically requested that I pay in cash. To avoid towing, he demanded that I pay in cash. He even advised me to get some cash from a bank. P.C. Richard parking lot in Astoria, NY (35-18 Steinway St, Queens, NY 11101) was where I parked. I wanted to go to Starbucks for purchasing coffee and then returned to P.C. Richard to shop so I could relax while I was there. Just after 5 minutes I parked, one guy followed me and said  "Hey, your car is getting towing" then, he told me "Give me $130 in cash. You can go to a bank and come back. Pay in cash" I was so upset that I paid $100 in cash because I was so afraid of these men towing my car. However, I returned since I was concerned that this was a scam. And I wondered why I had to pay even though I was going to P.C. Richard after getting coffee.  Then I saw them doing the same thing to other people.  Only after few minutes people left, they start towing to harass people for cash.   What if certain people require coffee or medication before to shopping at P.C. Richard?   When I spoke with the man, he became really disrespectful, saying things like "Get out of here," "Ugly," "Stay in cheap!" and so on. In the video, you'll see all of his actions. I showed this video to your employee. The employee didn't care at all. The employee even inquired about my residence and place of employment. The employee was also disrespectful. That alarmed me as well. "Oh, they might be a team for some extra cash earning," I thought. Then I noticed that the towing company on the sign and the towing company on his towing car were different. As requested, I followed up with customer service at P.C. Richards and was told by Alexandrea Hawkins that someone would be in contact with us. That was on 2/23. I have yet to connect with anyone about the recklessness of their delivery men with our safety. On top of that, the unit we ordered arrived with a broken shelf and reported it immediately. After getting the run around from a store manager and associates for a couple of weeks, we were told a replacement would be ordered and delivered in approximately a month. A month later it was discovered upon following up on it's whereabouts that it was never ordered and we will have to wait another month for a replacement. Unbelievably horrible service. PC Richards & Son is my preferred store for appliances and consumer electronics. Sure other national chains may have more stuff some categories but they lack the feel and of an over 100 year old family business. The last time--and I mean the last time--I visited one of the national chains I asked to purchase an item that was on display. The salesperson and the manager both said that the item hadn't arrived yet and it would be received by the store for another two weeks. So I asked to buy the floor sample and was turned down. Why would they display an item that would not be in stock for two weeks? I asked if the item was available online and again the answer was no. Frustration squared! Salespeople at PC are incentivized to develop relationships. Many have been with the company for many years. Yet others have retired from a career working as a salesperson at PC. I know some. ThIs isn't the case with seemingly migratory nature of the salespeople at other similar companies. I've been shopping at PC for over three decades and with the exception of one service issue I've never had a problem with servicing. I once serviced on Onkyo mini-system and when they returned the system they didn't return the 10 CDs that were stuck inside. A very rare occurrence. Prices are pretty good. Sometimes their prices tend to me higher that what is available in the net. If it is from a reputable store they will price match. Otherwise their prices are good enough by comparison and they satisfy the need for instant gratification that the net can never satisfy. read more

A long while ago when I first moved to New York, I came to this location not knowing where the hell I was. I was just instructed to come here to purchase an air conditioner since I naively didn't think places like Circuit City / SEARS existed in any of the five boroughs. I ended up purchasing an energy efficient one, thinking I could carry that to the train. It was too damn heavy. I ended up telling the taxi driver that I was going to Manhattan, which only made things more complicated. The days of being a newbie, this store brings all of those memories back. I was under the impression this was a poor man's Future Shop / Circuit City. There were countless sales associates all over the place trying to assist people in purchasing air conditioners and all other products in order to make their obvious commission quota. It was a tacky sell, but I suppose thats how things are when you have so much hired competition around you. The one who eventually sold me an air conditioner was the calmest one of them all, but also the most apathetic one. He wasn't able to tell me the store hours or tell me how I could lug this thing back into the city. Asked me why I didn't go to a Manhattan location, I told him this was the only location I learned about (from someone who politely mentioned to me about this place while I grabbed a bite to eat around the corner). I learned three things later that day: 1) This PC Richard and Son is probably not the best one 2) Sharp air conditioners are lame 3) I should have requested Astoria instead of Manhattan. I have been frequenting this P.C. Richard for many years now. I had a very brief stint with Sears and after a bunch of delivery mishaps realized P.C. Richard was actually where my heart lies.... and let's be real, my wallet too. No but for real, Mohammad in appliances is the man. He always always pulls through. I work in a business where I constantly have to order multiple appliances and Mohammad works with me so that I get the highest quality appliances for the most reasonable prices. He's courteous and fast -- always responds and even when he's not in, gets back to me quickly. There have been times where I need a fridge or stove right away and Mohammad is able to get the delivery for me right in time. I'm usually not a fan of big stores, but this P.C. First tech didn't order the right parts, second one had to reorder parts, the third never showed and the fourth was over a outside the window. Went here with my uncle to get a bbq. We had the sales lady Nancy. She was very sweet. We came in after doing research to decide which weber grill. She stated that since we were buying a Weber grill it is a flat rate price across the board and anywhere you go it will be that price. We also bought a bbq cover she made sure it will fit the proper model and checked to see if we needdd any tanks. We came in around 6pm and the store wasnt busy.. Ah very , very disappointed with this location ( Astoria) bought a dishwasher from them and the delivery and installation was unprofessional to say the least . Guy was in my home 5 minutes yanks a couple of times on my disconnected washer , pronounces it immovable and leaves me with a new wrapped up washer and the old one still in place . TV, mattresses, recliners, electronic fireplaces, surveillance cameras. I know cause I have bought everything from them. The whole store is wonderful. But its about the staff that makes the difference. I would like to point out 2 individuals. First Rahman Babu. We know this gentlemen for over 20 yrs shopping here. He knows my mom and dad and me. When we need anything we go to him for his wisdom and expertise of knowledge of everything he sales. He goes above and beyond. I know about service cause I work in hospitality system for over 29 yrs.
