There is a new phenomenon at this particular Stop & Shop location. In the month I have shopped her 4 times. At no point was I told to bag my own groceries and I've been completely ignored by the cashier bagger. I don't know if this is a union thing but if so tell the customers upfront or with signs that your cashier baggers will no longer be bagging the groceries. If I knew I will be responsible to bag my own groceries and hold up the line I would apply for a job to work there. For over a hundred years supermarkets bagged the groceries for you. I'm in my 60s and buy $50-$300 worth of groceries every time I come it's a hassle. Although I have my own bags when I shop here I always pay the 5 cents per bag because I use them at home. So I'm buying at least 2 each time. Within 2 blocks in each direction there are both a Trader Joe's and Ctown. Both supply bags and pack them up for you and even if you supply bags they also do it for you. The people responsible for this decision should be fired. read more

The store is big and clean. Products are available. The app is the problem. The wifi us very bad here so accessing coupons is difficult and after you make your purchase you have to go wait on the service line to get a refund for the difference. The only have one person at the service register. Is slow and frustrating. The need more workers here too because things are slow. Many times the intercom called for help at the bakery. This is pretty good place to shop. It's located in a small shopping plaza. They are probably the biggest store there. Plenty of parking but it can get busy there. Most of it is under cover but there are some spots that are not covered. There is also a upper level for parking. There's an elevator or a long ramp to get to the store. It's a pretty big store and everything is pretty spaced out here. So even when it's busy there's room to move around. Pretty much like most Stop and Shops. The pretty much have everything you would expect at a supermarket and more. There's a fresh deli as well as pre made selections. My only complaint with Stop and Shop is some of the brands they carry, they only have one option for that brand. Not always the option I want but other than that, this is a good place to shop. read more

Trash! This place do not honor your points that you have earned! Today I was on the phone with Stop and Shop for 45 minutes and nothing was solved. My account was hacked by East 174th Street employees from the Bronx, they opened or gained access to my account and started using my points. My account has been down since June 2024 and several calls made did not amount to nothing!! Instacart is also trash, ever since they canceled delivery with Stop and Shop trucks, Instacart has failed! They are using any old Joe to pick up and drop off your groceries, and they go through your groceries and take what they want. read more

Shopping with my mother in a crowded underground store for carrots, celery, aluminum foil and bottled water. Oh the joy, the pleasure is just hitting me now and swimming around in my head on the walkway -- down, down, down into the abyss. Taking turns on two wheels, packing the cart with yet to be stocked bottled water towers upon skids, all still tangled up in cellophane. Tearing at it as if stuck in a giant spider web, it looked as though the end was near as we stood in line. I grabbed the non sale carrots & gave up on the foil hunt and spun around as I had to correct this, passing a high gloss black tower with bright blue flashing lights, as tall as myself. I hear the public address "Hazard in aisle thirteen" just after a sales associate answers my question with "the aluminum foil is in aisle thirteen." So I turn the corner from the rear and here comes this large black machine turning the opposite corner, heading my way -- I think nothing of it, other than realizing it's robotic. It passes two customers without stopping and slowly approaches me - 10 feet, five feet, one foot and stops and says "hazard detected". The couple of two split leaving me and this thing alone in aisle 13. Let it be said that I checked the floor as it was approaching, nothing was there, not a thing. So I looked it over not a cyber stare down, but eyes fixed in case it freakin malfunctions and attacks me. I figured the worst it could do was electrocute me like the jawias did to R2D2, I liked my chances. I make it back to the line which has not moved and mom no longer wants the aluminum foil that I almost had to battle artificial intelligence for and out of the corner of my eye, here it comes again, rounding the corner heading my way. Thankfully we got to the cashier, the stifled muttering tells that he didn't want my coupons but I could have read that wrong, he was a nice fellow. I had half a mind to tell him that I was just harassed by the store mascot bot and I think it has the hot's for me, with the following and all, but I thought better of it. read more

They used to be good when they were Peapod. Now they are terrible. First of all you pay a delivery charge plus you give a tip. Ok no problem. Its fair. But they are always out of 20% of the items you ordered so now you paid this extra only to have to go to the store anyway to get the items you ordered so what's the sense? Also, they charge your credit card the minute you place the order so you pay for everything and then you have to wait 7 business days for the to adjust it. Peapod and fresh direct don't charge your card until the order is processed and out for delivery. This happens every time. So after the 3rd time in a row I am done. I now use fresh direct. Plus they always have everything you order read more

The Stop N Shop on Crossbay Blvd is the worst I have been going to the other Stop N Shop on Atlantic Ave which is out of my way only because they never stock anything.. Located with a parking garage attached so there is always parking . With an elevator if you parked on the upper or lower level. Always kept clean and well stocked of everything . They always rotate out food so you don't have to worry about things expiring . Always have multiple cashiers and staff in every single department so you never have to worry about waiting too long ! 4 stars were given instead of 5 due to the structure of the building there is issues with connectivity with the phones and you might lose signal while pursuing through the the grocery store aisle . Couple of things that I really enjoy about this Stop & Shop. 1) Hidden away- At first, I drove past the entrance after making left turn from Woodhaven Blvd and on to Union Turnpike. 2) The bottle return is located in a separate area with it's own parking lot. No large crowd to contend with nor waiting on long lines when returning couple of bottles that was originally purchased at this store. Receipts given can only be used at this Stop & Shop or get cash on the spot at customer service desk. 3) Staff at customer service are very helpful with finding rest rooms and answering questions about products. I been to three Stop & Shop and each of the layout of the site are varied. 4) Always buy sale items for they are the best bargains. Make sure you use your Stop & Shop cards and cut out the coupons from circular for further discounts. 5) The ribs are not my favorite at this store, and the sandwiches are tad dry. The Oven Roasted Chicken is okay. Still prefer the ones from Grand Avenue much for they are not so overly cooked. 6) Staff helpful at self checkout and will come over and bail you out. Great shopping location! Perfect location with PARKING! Us New York's know the struggle when it comes to parking lol. It's always clean and they have great customer service. I wasn't a member at first, but they still gave me the stop and shop discounts. They also made it easy and fast to apply for a membership. The sushi bar is REALLY good and ALWAYS FRESH!! Deceiving packaging in the bakery section. Went on 5/29/22 and saw a strawberry danish with a 5/28/22 packed date. I thought the danish was fresh and grabbed it. I did not realize the bakery department places new stickers on their goods. When I went to dig into the danish, I realized the 5/28/22 sticker was placed on top of a 5/25/22 sticker. I went to the seafood department today 9,27,21. At 5:58 once I approached the guy at the seafood department, I ask for steak salmon, and he told me sorry we're closed. Then I went to speak to someone up front, I asked, what time do the seafood department close. They said they closed at 7 o'clock, but she said they started to put things away at 6 o'clock. If you close at 7 o'clock, anything after 7 o'clock you're supposed to put it away. Don't make any sense. Not worth the trip. First, the second floor of the parking garage is closed so the number of spaces on the first level is inadequate and is shared with several other establishments including a gym. The garage is gridlocked and once in it can take an hour to get a space or even to just leave if you don't have the patience to wait for one. Then, as others said, they rearranged the store to be like other Stop and Shops but the arrangement of those made no sense. Why is seltzer water in a separate aisle from soda? The people sticking the shelves leave the storeroom with enormous amounts of goods and end up blocking the now (since the remodel) much skinnier aisles so that shopping carts can't get by. Also, perishables are in those huge amount of goods and can wait in refrigerated and unfrozen for over an hour in the center of the aisle before being placed on a refrigerated or frozen shelf. I don't blame the stock people for that, I would think they are taught how to do their job by the management and are just following orders. The stock people seem hard working and apologetic for blocking the aisles to do their job. But expired items remain in the shelves. Instead of a remodel, this place should have been knocked down and rebuilt from scratch. It's only what, 25 years old? And the parking garage is crumbling! read more

Don't go to this stop and shop location! The management is horrible here. My company gave the employees $100 egiftcards to help with the rising food costs and I tried to use it on 8/20/22. I had my full cart of groceries and I gave my egiftcard that i printed out to the cashier. She called the supervisor and the supervisor said we need the physical giftcard. I told her my employer only gave me the egiftcard and they said that was accepted. Then she went to the manager and the manager comes out saying they dont accept egift cards and they was nothing they can do. I showed her the email from my corporate saying the egiftcards were accepted at any stop and shop location. The egiftcard had numbers and a pin on it. I therefore asked the manager to type in the numbers in the system and it should work. She said oh there is no proof from my company that this is a legit giftcard and that it could be a scam. They then put my groceries in the back office allowing my groceries to defrost. I started to get loud because they were embarrassing me and I wanted to stick up for my other coworkers who could of possibly been going in later that day with the same giftcard. Only after I made a scene, the manager Jenna a young African lady said she was going to call the corporate office. Then 15 minutes of me waiting there, embarrassed as heck because everyone was staring at me the manager said my egiftcard went through. I said I told you it was a real giftcard! Why do you guys assume Im lying! I showed you the emailed from my corporate. I never heard of any company in 2022 not accepting egiftcards! The management just thought I was lying and wanted to not accept my egiftcard so I can pay full price for my groceries. Stop and shop makes tons of money, $100 is chunk change for them. They acted like i had a giftcard for a million dollars. So disappointed in the management of this stop and shop and I would never return. Stop & Shop sale prices are generally better than all the other markets in the area outside of maybe Keyfood. I usually drop by to stock up on junk food, packaged goods, frozen favorites and other non perishables. You've really got to examine stuff you buy here, some stuff is expired or a day before expiration. I'm not sure why but the meat case some times contain packages that are partially opened. I'm sure it's not because it was packaged that way, some shoppers that are just idiots. When it gets really busy here tempers can flare, especially at the self checkout lanes. The elevators move super slow and the lesser capacity elevator that goes to the far end of the parking lot is much slower. I know one day I'm gonna get stuck in these elevators and wonder why I just didn't walk it. The parking lot is sometimes a mess to park in. There isn't a lot of room to maneuver especially if someone is waiting for a spot. It's a much better experience if you go early in the morning, late in the evening or better yet not at all. read more

Used to be great. Great staff, great product. But then they rearranged the store...poorly. Nothing makes sense. Example: Bread aisle, bagels are not bread? find them near detergents. Breakfast sausage in one place, unless it is on sale, then see aisle closest to seafood . Used to have great produce, not so much anymore. Before I start, I shop at this store every weekend for myself and, while there is a pandemic going on, for my parents as well. Pandemic rating: two stars... By and large the front of the house staff, cashiers, managers etc..., have their masks in place and are generally helpful, wearing their masks properly and socially distance. Different story for the back of house staff and the sales reps who stock the shelves. This weekend I saw a minimum of 5 people doing go-backs and stocking shelves with masks below their noses and one with it down below his chin. That is a frequent occurrence. Also this weekend I saw several customers with no mask on and no attempt was made by employees to intervene or show them the door. In general the store is clean and more or less stocked. I do wish they would get rid of that robot that seems to have a camera at ground level looking up women's skirts. Not to mention that it just bumbles about getting in the way and being a hazard. Also as I was exiting, I saw a security guy accost an elderly man, demand ID and ask if he had weapons on him. What in the world? This was clearly a harmless old guy going shopping. Limiting entry to the store? Not at this location, ever. The one-way aisles and social distancing ended at least six months ago. A dedicated cleaning person 8AM - 8PM daily? I must've missed this on my last hundred or so visits. Unless you mean the $35,000 robot that roams around getting in everyone's way, but that thing doesn't clean, it just looks for stuff on the floor so it can stop and sound an alarm. Everyone but little kids hates that thing, but there it is. Did you ever visit this store, Victoria? Did you ever ride the rickety elevator down, and walk across the filthy, stained, debris-strewn carpet in the vestibule area that hasn't been cleaned or replaced since Day 1? Kind of like the men's room which has had the same stains and encrusted filth for ten years. They removed the pay phone eons ago - why is the frame still there? What about fresh stock? Well before the "supply chain" issues began, I would see the frozen food cases half full, then a week later a quarter full, then the next week almost nothing. Same in the chips aisle or wherever. Where are the deliveries? Where is the inventory management? Like I said, this long preceded supply chain issues. Yet Key Food, a couple miles down Union Turnpike but presumably a step down from Stop & Shop, manages to have perpetually full shelves. Walking into this store used to be like going to Publix in Florida; it had that bright, shiny, clean feel. Now, it's borderline grungy. That "who cares, it's New York, screw 'em" approach to store management just drags the place down. And it's a shame. I am a newbie to the Stop & Shop supermarket chains. I was a ride or die Pathmark gal until they closed all their stores years ago. Lol. I love food shopping and usually frequent the smaller markets like Keyfood and C town. However, Stop&Shop is growing on me. This particular market has a "free" large parking lot which is very convenient since it's not in an area close to a lot of public transportation options. The supermarket is always clean and customer service seems fine. I like the sales offered and the big variety of products. I enjoy trying new products and this market offers a variety of cultural items. Like most markets, they have their busy times and I've been on line for almost an hour waiting for check out. Overall, I love this supermarket and will frequent it more often since it's so close to my home. read more

Store was just renovated. Probably cost millions, however they have the most disgusting restroom in the city. They should have gutted it and built a new one as part of the renovation! The current restroom has been filthy and woefully maintained for years and now the stench has just become part of the tiles and the grout. There is no amount of cleaning that can fix it. Went into store with husband to get groceries today. Apparently there is a section at one end of the store where a single line forms for check out, but nothing near registers stating so. My husband and I did not realize this as we walked towards registers to look for an open one. Unloaded our stuff as we stood there for a few minutes waiting for the man in front to pay and go through coupons. A miserable, power trip woman who works there (NIDIA G.) came up and said were you in the frozen section?! Thinking she thought we left something behind or something since it was an odd question, I said no? She then reprimands us and says you're cutting the line!! My husband said sorry, where is there a line? She continued to be extremely rude and tell us how we are "cutting" the line and there is apparently a line in the frozen section - how were we to know that?? Are we in High School with the way we are being spoken to? I said there is nothing showing there is a random line for check out in the frozen section, which is not in eye view and you clearly cannot see. Kept saying don't cut the line as if we are children. I told her not to freaking talk to me that way in which she yelled "don't curse at me!" This lady is nuts. This lady is rude. And this lady should not be dealing with any customers. If I wanted to curse at you, I have some select choice words I would have used. Would have been totally fine if she said politely that there is a line that you didn't see - not the way she accused us of purposely "cutting" people. It is not our MO to go grocery shopping and then try to "cut" lines. For the record, a man behind walking behind us also went to an empty register next to the one we were at without waiting on this line so he obviously didn't notice either! The manager was nearby and came over, however I couldn't even get a word in as this nut case kept yelling she cursed at me. I DID NOT CURSE AT YOU. He just continued to push her away, literally stopping her from following us. Trying to cover her behavior CLEARLY by saying "she cursed at me." Meanwhile, we make it to this hidden line in the ice cream section..and there's 3 people on line. I mean jesus lady. Did you think we were pulling a fast one on you? Get a grip and learn how you should and shouldn't speak to people in general. We are all dealing with enough.I still can't believe that this miserable human being is allowed to talk to customers at all. The manager should have 1000% percent apologized on her behalf. He was however busy trying to tell her to shut up. I literally couldn't even speak to him because she kept talking over me, obviously not wanting him to hear what she said to us and how she said it. 3 stars because we usually don't have employees accusing of us purposely cutting lines and starting fights with us and there is one super friendly employee who we chat with every time we go there. I genuinely enjoy shopping here. Very large, very well-stocked and clean. This store is larger, better managed and better stocked than other Stop & Shops in the area. There is a Starbucks inside for my fellow caffeine addicts. This contrasts with the coffee machine (which was out of order last I checked) at the Grand Avenue Stop & Shop. Staff has been responsive to my requests for particular hard-to-find items. The parking lot is not well designed. The first level is dark without much maneuvering room, though the parking spaces are wide enough. There is a winding ramp to get to the second parking level, with elevator access to the store. The second level parking spots are plentiful but too tightly spaced, raising the risk of damage from car door impacts. That said, the parking lot here is STILL better than those at other nearby Stop & Shops. read more

This is what I call a supermarket. It's extremely organized with aisles all clearly marked with labels. It's extremely clean and yes, shoppers can get lost here. They carry a very large selection of products that no ordinary supermarket carry including a large international aisle. Lots of brand names and generic brand names to choose from as it give shoppers lots of options. This location is indeed not easy to travel without a car. As a native Queenster Glendale is not easy to access as it's not near any subways. read more

This is one of the larger stop an shops I have been too, and I appreciate the size. Its clean inside, usually everything is fully stocked. The have a great beer section, great produce section and their bakery is amazing. Some of the staff are pretty nice, some are just there to work lol. They have a star bucks inside and a bank. They have to elevator locations to access the store, one by the main entrance and the other by the self-check out area. As with most of the Stop and Shops, they have the robot cleaning the floors at a slow pace, with constant stops because people dont know how get out of its way. Its almost as if folks want the machine to hit them lol. The deli section is good and their options for hot food are better than most stop and shops. read more
