BJ's recently opened a location over in Virginia Gateway in Gainesville, VA. I received an invitation in the mail for a two month trial membership - so I went in to check it out. I had the option of signing up for a year beyond the 2 month trial membership for $40.00. If I waited for the 2 month trial membership to expire and then make a decision on membership - at that point the price would be $50.00 for a year. So I went ahead and signed up for the year - which means I have 14 months for $40.00. Because the place is so new, the place looks nice and clean. I went and stocked up on things like bottled water, dishwasher detergent, and dishwasher drying agent. The one thing I will ding them on is their Membership Services area seemed a little disorganized. There were five people behind the counter and seemed like they were not well versed in the process for signing up people. There were only five people in front of me - and it took approx. 15 minutes for the five BJ's employees to process the five customers in front of me.

Custom 1/2 sheet cake decorated - awesome job per request. I provided the print out and they printed the center verbiage on edible paper!

BAKERY!!! Shout out to Baker who made this cake at my request! I showed an image of some pretty 3 colored tone roses and spoke to the baker, a little hesitant at first due to her workload but she agreed to it and it came out beautifully! So many compliments and people shocked this was a BJs cake. They thought it was a private bakery shop. So happy. Just brought in another order to pick up today, I am sure that too will be amazing! (Hmm, cant figure out how to load picture)

a wedding cake with red roses and snowflakes

Thank you to BJs for this wonderful cake they made The only thing I added were the silver snowflake toothpicks! It was a perfect wedding cake for us for only $29.00.

This BJ's is pretty good. It's new, clean and doesn't get too crowded even at its peak times. The only downside is that it is scaled down in comparison to other BJ's I have been to. As far as I can tell, it's that they don't sell clothes. Not a big deal as I don't really shop at BJ's for clothes. Otherwise it's a great place to do some bulk shopping and get good deals on electronics, appliances and more. *This business is gun carry friendly.

Quite often, I'll find coupons for something that isn't in the store. On the flip side, their gas prices are pretty good.

I always wondered why people go to Costco instead of BJ's. Costco is a madhouse, has weird hours, and no better of a selection.

Used to frequent the one in Fair Lakes and felt that their gas lines and parking were often disappointing.

This is the 7/11 I have been going for as long as I have been living here in Gainesville (I moved in Nov 2004). The person that was at the register was Mimi, a lady who was there as long as I would go to this 7/11. For some reason, something in the back of my brain said "Get a receipt and look at it". On the receipt, it listed an additional iced tea... The iced tea tea costs $1.99 although on my rewards program, discounted the iced tea purchase by 99 cents. I didn't purchase this item. I never asked for a receipt in the past. All of a sudden, for some weird reason.. I asked for it ??? I felt duped. for the past 18 years. I was dealing with a store that I never questioned and now after 18 years.. I now have reason to believe that I was being charged b/c I just didn't check. I now have the feeling that this is a practice that may have been in practice???? I just don't know.. I questioned Mimi and she refunded my $1. After looking at the receipt, I realized that there was no way that there was an accident based on where the Iced Team was charged in the chronology of what was rung up. I now wonder how many $1s I have been overcharged.??? If you go to a convenience store especially with Mimi and that 7/11 GET the receipt.. This is not over.. I just don't want others to be defrauded by this action. If for some reason, I was walking out with 2 bucks of unpaid product I would be criminally liable. Mimi just will give you back your $1.. if you question her. Don't be defrauded at 7/11.
