had been looking at their online Labor Day deal price on 65" OLED LG TV. Got me in the door. Went in to look. 85% chance I was going to buy. greeter was more interested in rummaging though bags and checking receipts for outgoing traffic than greeting new guests at all. Walked by. No sales people in electronics/ TVs. Stood around for 10 looking at the picture on all of the 30 some choices and decided I like the picture better on the Samsung even though it was $200 more. left the store, for outside - to do my own online research. (Not what you want as a seller). decided I wanted the Samsung instead. Looked at all the 100+ boxes didn't seem it. Went looking for a manager. (Inconvenient). Found at front BSing with another mgr. Didnt address me in a timely fashion. said I'd like to buy a TV do you have a sales rep for electronics that could answer questions/ get me a TV. He says the "were not best buy". IE no salesman and you're pretty much on your own. he does send eventually send a guy to help me find the TV. The guy says " good news and bad" we have 3 but they are on the top shelf up there; can you come back in a couple of days." Sorry I'd like to get it today. So, it's right there on the shelf I'm looking at the box but, they can't manage to get it down and in my cart for purchase !!! I'd say that TV was defiantly one of the top 5 most expensive items in the entire BJ's store. left cordially. drove 5 minutes to Best Buy. had the TV I wanted purchased and was on my way home in the next 15 minutes. Most of the staff here are incredibly rude. On multiple occasions we have experienced disrespectful staff. For example, most recently, we arrived at 6:30pm on a Sunday, fully knowing that they close at 7pm. We knew exactly what we needed, but when we walked in the staff-woman at the door exclaimed "we close at seven" in a scolding tone. I understand a need to communicate a closing time, but the way it was delivered was unnecessary. I am sorry you have to work on Sunday nights but that is not your customer's fault. Then when we were leaving at 6:50pm my husband wished her a good night, and she blatantly ignored him. It was incredibly rude. On top of that their selection is not nearly as good as the location in east Syracuse. Overall, a disappointment. read more

This BJs is actually one of the nicer ones. It has a bakery, meat counter, and a deli in it. There are things here that aren't at all other BJs. The staff are always kind and pleasant. I have never had a bad experience here. read more

I have been very happy with my experiences at BJs, including returning an item that I mistakenly thought was broken (it was not) and including the tire store, where, when I once forgot my appointment, they squeezed me in the next day (if I was willing to come when they opened and leave my car there all day, which I was happy to do). My only issue is that as a single person, I cannot always make good use of bulk items. read more

Not enough help waited 20 minutes for help end up going to regular check out and the guy couldn't figure out what the yellow slip meant so I got pissed off and slammed the Cart with 200 in groceries in it in to the service desk and walked out this store is no better then tops up the road read more

I have lived in the area for several years and have been going to BJ's off and on the whole time. The store is always clean and well stocked. The employees have always been friendly and helpful if I've needed anything, or just to say hi or ask if I need anything when walking past. I'd definitely recommend people use the store if they're looking for a less expensive means to shop for a higher quantity of items. We've even bought a laptop here when on clearance, which was a steal. Not sure about the MaryC rant either but in my experience, when an employee has any type of response like that, it's in direct response to someone being incredibly rude and inappropriate first. Personally, I've seen people at this BJ's being very rude and the employees are quite respectful and patient in return. I appreciate having the store in the area and will continue to ignore the Mary C's of the world. read more

Did I really pay to shop here?...... So first of all, the prices are not that great on many items, so I have to wonder why I paid to shop here. Second, the coupons which can save money are sometimes difficult to meet all the requirements (limited time period for use, correct sizes, correct style, etc.) Staff is uneven, some are nice and funny and recognize the somewhat ridiculous nature of this "savings fest" and others, well, just humourless and brand defensive. Wegman's is a better, less time consuming store for food. I suppose if you want to buy a tent and 25 lbs. of sugar on the same day, BJ's is your store all the while keeping your eyes on the coupons, and whether the programming of the cash register is keeping up with the promises. read more

I ordered a set of winter tires on December 10. I was given an appointment to have them mounted on December 18. On the 18th I received a phone call that the tires had not arrived and I would be notified when they did so. Three days later I called back and was told the tires still had not arrived and they would look into it. On the 23rd when the tires still had not arrived I canceled the order and went somewhere else where I was able to purchase the tires and have them mounted while I waited. And the price was considerably cheaper than what BJs was going to charge. read more

I am surprised by Mary C's recent rant. Sometimes we can get frustrated when we don't understand or know how to use technology. I wonder if there was even some embarrassment to those behind her in line that know how to properly use the scanner, as waiting for someone slow can be awkward. Furthermore, there is no place for personal attacks and hatred to be shown against workers. While Mary C does have the option to shop elsewhere, I will continue to visit the Ithaca BJ's whenever I am visiting the area. I have NEVER had a bad experience in the Ithaca store and frequent BJ's where I live in Florida. I would recommend to anyone and upset there isn't one closer to Elmira. Finally, a word to advice to Mary C. There are normal check out lines available for your convenience. read more

I have had only positive experiences at this BJ's and have never had a negative encounter with an employee, as other reviewers report. The store is clean and easy to navigate. Sometimes they are out-of-stock or don't have what I want, but I assume this is because this is a smaller version of the usual store in more populated areas. I will continue to shop there and have recommended it to friends who also are very happy with it. read more

I have been a BJ Club member for over 3 years. I have shopped at numerous BJ Whole Sale Stores over these years and never have I encountered such rudeness as I was subject to today. Today while I was shopping I decided to use the self check out as the "1" open regular customer service checkout had a very long line. I was scanning the items I intended to purchase and the register scanner would not read the bar code on the item I was trying to scan, nor would it read other items I tried to scan. I pressed the button for customer service and the woman that I recognized from previous visits to store came over and I stated " I am having problems with your self check out" her reply was " It isn't my self check out ". Her tone and mannerism was very rude, I have witnessed her in past visits to this BJ's and her being very rude to employees around her. I believe she is the Head Cashier at this store. After her rude comment she grabbed a hand scanner and scanned the item I was having problems scanning and then slammed it back into the holder and walked away. I said " Oh I didn't see that scanner I can use that to scan the rest of the items from my cart ?" Her response was ,"I don't care if you want to" and continued to walk away. I continued to have difficulty scanning my purchases using either the hand scanner or the register scanner. Needless to say I was not impressed with BJ's self check out experience. I believe they need to address this issue further. I regularly use self check out at Tops Market and Walmart stores and have never had such problems and difficulties with any of those self check out systems. Moreover than that is being frustrated with the attitude I regularly see displayed by the above mentioned employee today. As I have already stated I have seen her in the past treat other store employees in a terrible disrespectful matter. Today when I first entered the store and walked by her when she was having a conversation with another employee I overheard her say " Well I won't have to ever worry about being fired, the inspector loved me by the time they left the other day, I received a few hugs even". I am seriously considering taking my business to another BJ's even though it would be further away from where I live. I have always been very satisfied with the products and the employees at BJ's, aside from this Head Cashier. Her customer service and employee communication skills are a negative 10. In my opinion she should not be in the position where she has contact with the general public without given intensive communication training. Again I shop regularly at the Ithaca store because it is closest to my home. After today's experience I am not sure I will be returning. Very dissatisfied and disappointed BJ Club member. read more

Bjs Ithaca SUCKS, it's very unorganized, they run out of things constantly, there very inconsistent, the workers are rude, the cafe is the worst, they shouldn't even bother. They try to sell burnt, dry pizza, they close at a whim, and one time I went for soup and they were out, I went for cheese pizza, they were out then I asked for sushi they were out and they had one hot dog left. It was about 6:30 pm. Horrible place. This is constant there. Stick with wall mart or target. I tried to give them a chance being new. I was very excited to have a bjs in Ithaca but that has all changed. read more
