I have membership to Bjs and Costco. I love them both. They are similar in many ways. Bjs is usually less crowded. I prefer Bjs because they have plant based meats. I do wish they had more cashiers though. They push the self checkout. read more

I love BJ's! Though I do have a preference to Costco for things. I feel like BJ's is growing on me a lot. With the unfortunate recent events of Boars Head deli meats (which I usually purchase at Publix). I decided to try BJ's deli and I'm impressed! The quality is great and it's much more affordable. BJ's also offers coupons (both digital and paper) that can really help customers cut costs. I think I make up for the membership price in coupons! My only complaint is that this location is older and is not always well kept as far as cleanliness. read more

First time here and it's very similar to Costco. Going on a Friday night is ideal since not many people. The prices are comparable to Costco and maybe a little less which is great. Lots of varieties. Even though lots of breads, it was short of handcrafted artesianal breads like sour dough, French bread, etc. Many varieties of different eggs, large assortment of ice cream, yogurt and butter. Olive oil and avocado oils were limited and need to research the brand. Most of their plant based milk drinks are refrigerated and would prefer option of smaller boxes that can be stored in room temperatures. They have a nice variety of produce similar to Costco. Checking out, there are a lot of self check out which is nice thou if an item is on sale, come prepared to have your coupons out to scan. The coupons are not automatically removed which is an inconvenience and not efficient. I would return with a list of food items to buy because it's easy to get distracted with the many items they sell. A clean place and ample parking. read more

I blame myself in part for this one. I should have checked. My mind kept telling me to check before I leave. Usually my son checks the placement before we leave and does a double check of the items. But... we had other stores to go to and I knew we had the right number of items, so we left. We get home and discover that I have a child's portion of chicken salad in a large container. I know they always sell out of the chicken salad and when I ordered it, there was one left. But they could have kept this one. It's just enough for a sandwich and maybe a little on the side. Maybe. I'm a grown a$$ woman, and my 60+ mom still laughs when I tell her how much I love BJ's. ;) It's true though. I really do. This Waterford Lakes location is conveniently located on Lake Underhill and Alafaya next to the Lowe's. It's only about 3 miles from the house, where all the other options are at least 10 miles away. The parking lot is huge, which is good considering how busy it gets on the weekends. We try to do our shopping on weeknights when it's way less busy. The selection of goods is what I'd expect from any big box store. I can get all the name brand items I want for toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc or opt for their Berkley & Jensen brand of generics for extra savings. Saving is pretty easy here since they send coupon books once or twice a month. During COVID they implemented digital coupons only through their app for added safety measures. They've since started accepting paper ones again, but the digital option is my go-to now. Having a membership with their competition as well, my observation is that the lines aren't as ridiculous at BJ's so I'm in and out of there much faster than at the "big C". The store is always clean and well stocked (pandemic craziness aside) so there really isn't anything bad I have to say about BJ's. read more

I love BJ's! Not as much as Costco, but it's the closest warehouse club to me. They seem to have all of the same types of stuff as their competitors (Sam's Club and Costco), but maybe some different brands and different configurations. If you shop here regularly, they send out coupons for the stuff you normally buy. We shop here mainly to stock up on non-perishables such as toilet paper, paper towels, deodorant, razors, paper plates, and other stuff like that. Sometimes, their coupons overlap so you can get two of everything on one trip. Occasionally we shop for other items like food, Halloween candy, coffee, produce, and frozen foods. They stay pretty stocked on everything and sometimes are out of an item or two. Weekends can get crazy here (same for Costco and Sam's), so I recommend trying to come Mon-Thu evening for a much more sane shopping experience. Yes, you miss out on the free samples, but how many times can you sample a pierogi and pretend you've never tried one before. They also have a Dunkin' Donuts inside too so you can grab a coffee or donut on the way out. I have not used their pharmacy or optical departments, so can't comment on those. Same with the liquor store which has a separate entrance. But they have a lot of options and a membership is required. read more

Tire center: keep your customer service expectations low. I've been shopping at this BJs for over 15 years, and never had a problem with the employees in the store. It's a different story when it comes to the tire guys. The guy who had been here for a long time was in a perpetual bad mood, and never tried to hide it. Maybe he was overworked. Maybe he hated his job. Whatever it was, I knew to expect his unpleasantness. Today, I'm here for new tires, and it's another guy working, but with the same nasty attitude. My crime was showing up 25 mins late for my appointment. When I arrived, he told me he'd have to reschedule me to prevent other customers from being backed up. Although I apologised for being late, he showed zero empathy, and was just nasty about it. He could have said, "I'm sorry, but I have to reschedule you" but chose to be angry instead when I tried to convince him to take me now. He finally relented, but had a crappy attitude about it. I apologized again as he was walking out to the service bay, but he ignored me. Aside from lack of common courtesy, his demeanor didn't instill confidence as someone whose putting on my tires. Did he take any shortcuts? Is it properly balanced? No way of knowing. Be warned. read more

I have been a member of B.J.'s for years and, for a big box store, I have always thought it was good. My primary reason for selecting B.J.'s over competing big box stores was convenience. This location is literally a few miles from my house. A few highlights of the store. The deli counter offers a decent selection of cold cuts and cheese at very good price points. I particularly like the cappicola here. Their meat department is also pretty good. They could use a bigger selection, though. I do try to avoid here on the weekends, the people do seem to fill the aisles and cause a second set of lines as someone stares blankly at two separate cereal boxes trying to decide which one has the more fiber or appropriate sugar to keep their lids super hyper. Actually, it is in the meat department that I find the congestion. No big deal, that's what Monday through Friday is for, not to mention getting there at opening. B.J.'s offers a lot (both literally and figuratively) in terms of bulk purchases. I recommend the shopping but not the tire center, I bought my tires online and set up my appointment for tire installation, when I checked in the people in the tire center asked me how did I get the appointment I told them I booked online, the guy continues to complain, after checking in the car I walked into the store, when I went back to the tire center I was already there 45 minutes is when they told me they didn't have my tires in stock, I walked back in the store and got a full refund. No one seems to know where anything goes or anything needs to be. Also they don't have an idea of what vendors will be in the store and when. Bj's fan right here!!!! I've been a member at Costco, Sam's (still am) and at of course, Bj's. Honestly, Bj's is my favorite for several reasons... Products, prices and customer service. They have a lot, if not most of the product that I consume at home and for excellent prices. They have constant running coupons and even if you left your coupon book at home, they always are happy to provide you with extra coupon books. They do not require receipts for returns, they do not card on the entrance and employees are always eager to help. All in all, product selection is awesome and I love that they are not stingy with the coupons booklets, like other wholesale stores. read more

New crew in the tire center. Perhaps a little more training on customer service, time management, work load management and knowledge of the service you offer. Do better BJ's, don't set your people up to fail. Made an appointment for a tire repair. Left the tire on Monday evening for a Tuesday appointment at 12:45pm. Returned on Tuesday at 12:45pm, was told they're 2 hours behind. Ok, did my shopping and went to Lowe's and came back over two hours later to be told that I don't have paperwork (that was NEVER mentioned before on my prior 2 visits) AND that I missed my appointment time. After speaking to the asst manager they were able to fit me in. However at this point I felt I had to sit there to make sure it got done. Waited for an additional 30 minutes with my groceries in my car for my tire. What a disappointment. Will not be purchasing tires from here again. read more

I love this place. There is nothing bad about this place. The worst thing about this place is that Aldi is close to my apartment. BJ's takes everything that is wrong with other stores and makes it better. Sam's club sometimes sells things in too much bulk. They'll either sell you a 50 pound bag of rice or a giant, singular can of beans. BJ's will sell you a 30 pound bag of rice and a pack of multiple, more moderately sized cans of beans. It's the perfect amount of product while still being bulk. Other places don't have readily available coupons. BJ's has theirs front and center of the store and even send them to us in the mail. Perfect. And they have free samples! This place is wonderful. I usually get coffee, baking ingredients, meat, and produce here. All at great prices, and mostly with coupons. I fully endorse this BJ's. read more

I made an appt yesterday 03/20/2024 for 03/21/2024 at 12pm. I came in about 10 mins before and waited about 30 mins to even be acknowledged. Once someone came in I attempted to pay. 3 different cards were used and there was a limit error on all 3 cards. Called my financial institution and all cards were fine. I was told to pay when I came to pick up my car. Around 330 I received a call saying the manager attempted to call me earlier(no missed call) to tell me they will not put the tires on my car until I paid. I live on the other side of town and I was not coming back to pay and come back again. The manager agreed to do the car and pay when I came back. When I returned around 520 the price was different than earlier quoted and I was told I had to wait on a manager. 30 mins later Devi comes to override additional charges and gives me 20 dollars off. Devi did listen to my concerns and apologized for the inconvenience but I will not be purchasing tires from here in the future! read more

I stopped in to refill two propane gas tanks; and, the line was long already. There was a gentleman that insisted his tire damage was covered under warranty; and, that necessitated a manager's approval. He was not going to let anyone else proceed with their transaction until his repair was done, so there were 5 of us waiting for propane until his flat was fixed. Then, he insisted the tire technician/cashier/propane person also fill up all four tires; and, fill up his air tank for his home. He apologized to all of us, which was specious; but, the tire man did a great job. He managed to ring all of our purchases up while the gentleman sought out his warranty papers; talked to the manager; and, answered his phone repeatedly. We just queued up outside; and, then he proceeded to fill all of our tanks. It took a long time, as there was only one person working the tire shop; and, although the repair wasn't extensive, the gentleman demanding his sole attention was time-consuming. read more

Overall a good club - except if they (corporate BJ's) don't comply with their advertising for money back (get $10 when you spend $150). The money is supposed to show up as a reward coupon (in coupons), but if it doesn't show up and you contact their customer care email - they will tell you they will forward it for correction (but no correction occurs). If you contact back customer care on the same email thread asking "what happened to the correction?" - no response. So, just prepared to be disappointed on some of their offers. read more

This is the BJ's located closer to my home. It is conveniently located near a Lowes. Parking lot is huge, always has plenty of parking. Location is always clean and well lit with clear signage above the aisles. BJ's has everything you might need. Tv's, appliances, electronics. Office supplies, mattresses, bakery, deli and meat market with a small area for seafood. Everything. This is the place for fresh meats! The customer service is always on point. When needed, assistance is friendly. The aisles are well stocked. The cashiers are always friendly and helpful, if they notice an item has a coupon in the coupon book, they alert you so that it can be applied. We continue to visit this store. read more

The selections are unpredictable for some things, but the quality is good except for the Berkley Jensen brand item which is their store brand. They have a ton of large size items and the prices for those are usually incredibly less expensive than it would be at Publix for example. They have some clothes, selection is limited, but sometimes decent. They implemented some new self checkout for the majority of stations ... which is worse than the previous method with cashiers being timed for checking you out so they were stressed out and in a hurry. I was on the hunt for a wholesale store, and a neighbor suggested BJ's which I had never heard of prior to moving to Orlando. Then a few weeks ago there was a Groupon deal that was $50 for their membership but came a a $50 gift card and numerous other coupons to use. I really like this store, it is very clean and organized and the staff are super friendly. It did not take me long to figure out where things were located, and they are always offering tastings throughout the store. They also have a big parking lot so parking is not an issue at all. My one disappointment is that I fell in love w a new flavored water the first week, and is so common in wholesale clubs it was nowhere to be found the next week. I wish they had an app for their coupons because I have a hard time keeping track of paper coupons. But then that's prolly why they do that. read more

I spent 2 hours or more buying things and when I went to pay with the option they created to buy now and pay later, the worker YVONNE was RUDE to take my things out of the box where I pay myself and told me that I had to do it with a cashier, decently I went to the cashier and he had no idea how to pay the way I would, because they work there and don't even know the options that the club has, on the other hand SELENE D, challenged me to do it by myself and He assured me that I would have to wait a long time at the door to get out. It should be noted that I was with my baby, less than 1 year old, crying desperately because he was uncomfortable. I've been a member since 2005, but I just signed up for Costco today. When my BJ'S membership ends December I will NOT renew because it has slowly slipped. No longer carries my dog food which is the main reason I hung on. I bought tires at 250.00 a pop, got a nail after 15 mos. They did prorate, but I had to pay another 149.00 so I'm at almost 400 for 1 tire. I am at 5 days out and still no replacement tire (wasn't in stock at Lake underhill store) with no explaination or concern at all. I bought a birthday cake 4/13/24 it was horrible dry and the frosting was dry and hard. I took my RX for glasses there and it took three visits, and a month to get it close, but I still get dizzy so I barely wear them. They renewed our membership automatically December 2023, not once but twice, under my husbands name and charged his same card. We NEVER authorized auto renewal we always do in store. Lastly east Orlando does not have gas pumps, Costco Winter Park does for .20 a gallon less than local stations. Membership fee is $60 so same. read more

Todays experience required assistance only the assistant says to me "Okay, Hold on" She leaves and 15 mins later I'm still waiting. She comes back and starts to use her computer, which is right near where I'm waiting. So another 5 mins go by and she's gonna walk away again. I said "excuse me miss, I think you forgot about me?" I just want to pay and leave but apparently I need assistance to put in my card. She says "okay, hold on"... I said "NO! My ice cream is all but melted my patience is GONE. Either I pay and leave now or YOU can put the contents of my cart and my melted ice cream back on the shelves." Arrogantly, she scans her card allowing me to make my purchase. This is my first and LAST club membership with these people. read more

Very poor selection of good meat. And very poor quality beef. Many top grades like filet mignon are "Select Grade". Sam's carries Choice and even Prime meat. Many items are cheaper st Walmart neighborhood market. Much better selection of can goods. Produce isn't very good either with a couple of exceptions like fresh string beans in a bad. Tomatoes are old and spoil fast. Check out is long. No pay as you go app like San's. No jewelry anymore. Bread sucks. Not much reason for me to go their anymore. read more

I have now been a member of BJ's for about 2 months and have made 4 trips there so far. Since it is just my wife and I with an empty nest, I was not so sure this place would pay for the membership but I was wrong... I now buy ALL of my paper products here. they have the brands we use and the prices are great. The downside of having a sports car is I can't fit their TP and P Towel packages in my trunk. They also carry all of the common toiletries we use so we just buy bigger packages but at less cost and less frequently. Since we buy organic whenever possible, I have scrutinized their products but I am able to find a better selection than I expected I would find. They even offer bacon and sausage that is sodium nitrite free. Their organic produce selection is nice but their prices are just as high as the other stores so I still shop for my produce at the produce market and farmer's markets for MOST of that. They have a few organic meats that save me a trip to my butcher shop but I still buy most of my meat from my butcher. In the dairy section, they have my favorite yogurt so that is great. They even have organic milk but I wish they offered the gallons instead of the 1/2 gallons. Shredded cheese for my breakfast burritos they have in a handy size and I just freeze what I don't need now. Eggs I just get by the dozen at a organic farm 10 mins up the road. My wife loves her wine and even though they don't have a great selection, they have a few everyday wines she likes and they are great for cooking. For the better wines I tend to pick them up from various wine stores in Winter Park and Sanford so I am not too concerned about that anyway. Now that we are all stocked up and have adjusted to their offerings, I must admit I like buying a handful of items and being done. There are a few odd items they do not offer BUT they have a place on their website you can request items at. For empty nesters like us, we probably do not save as much as others that are more budget conscious than we are. At this point I am more about convenience than price but BJ's offers many of the things I need at a better price but only if I am willing to buy more of it at a time. I am OK with that because it just means I will rarely run out of items. I have found I am just replacing perishables and backfilling. I must say that they have an impressive offering of olive oils, dried spices, and preserved items. Their brand of sun dried tomatoes, hearts of palm, capers, pepperoncini, olives and spicy veggies are actually very good and the prices are as well. I am making more recipes with them and experimenting more and more. I tried them out of curiosity but I have to admit their brand is good quality. Give them a try if you are close to one. BJ's is a wholesale club much like Costco or Sam's Club. In our opinion it is better than both of those options for several reasons. It is also closer to our house, but since you don't live at our house, you can ignore that. *They don't card you just to come in the store and look. *They are very organized and even have small reminder signs on most (probably all?? but I hate to use absolutes) of the items with coupons in the store flyer. *They send you both a generic coupon book each month AND custom coupons that are somewhat creepily and somewhat handily based on items you've purchased recently. *They also send seasonal books with even more coupons. *They also allow you to use manufacturer's coupons PLUS THEIR COUPON. *They let you use more than one manufacturer's coupon if they item is packed correctly. If you buy something that is bundled together, but is individually wrapped in separate packaging, you can use a coupon on each item. (Example: 3 bottles of shampoo in one shrinkwrap = 3 manufacturer's coupons can be used. But if it's just 1 bottle that's 3x as large = 1) Ask an employee if you are confused, they can probably explain it better. *They actually have nice produce and meat. This location seems to stay fairly clean and organized. We like it. My only ding on them is their carts are often FILTHY! Like extremely nasty. Whoever is in charge of this at this store doesn't do a good job at all. read more

When I first moved to Waterford Lakes, this was the closest warehouse club around, but over the years I've grown to like it quite a bit. Great selection of stuff, and they accept any form of credit card (not just Amex like Costco and Sams). The only dark spot in BJ's selection is their meat dept. I've been continuously under-whelmed by their meat selection and quality. Granted, they're not as bad as Winn-Dixie, but Costco's meat selection and quality is a order of magnitude better. read more
