This Publix location in Orlando was by my hotel, and I stopped in to buy some sodas to stock our in-room refrigerator. This Publix is exactly what you'd expect from this beloved Florida chain. The store is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, if a little dingy and worn down on the outside. The aisles are spacious, the shelves are well-stocked, and it's simple to find both everyday essentials and specialty items. Their produce and bakery sections are great here, with colorful and appealing fresh fruits and veggies and a large bakery that has a decent selection of breads, cakes, cookies, and pies. There's a nice prepared foods section too, which is great if you want a quick and healthier meal in your hotel room without having to cook. This location isn't fancy, but it carries a ton of different brands. As with all Publix supermarkets, the prices are on the higher side. This isn't the store to shop if you're looking for a bargain. The staff seems competent and helpful, and I didn't have to wait long at all to check out. Parking is free and convenient too, which is a big plus in the Orlando resort area. This location also sells Disney souvenirs. I picked up some adorable Minnie Mouse pencils that I just couldn't resist for less than $5. read more

This review is specifcally for a very nice older gentlemen named Derrik who works at the deli/food service counter. It was very busy and he was cutting meat. came over to help us over at the Deli counter. Made short talk and I made him not feel so rushed due to no help. A younger manager came over and sent him to do a different job and he finished up with us. In the day of always being pressured into leaving a tip for some teenager who won't even look at you I so wanted to give him something for dealing with no help. I saw him walking by the exit and he said "we meet again" thanked him for his help and we parted ways. Hope he sees this or his young manager, kodos to you my friend! Solid Publix overall but review is purely because of what I witnessed. I was in the middle of ordering a sub and literally talking. Short white lady with dark hair who is the manager needs to learn basic manners. She was so rude and Interrupted in a huff saying to the sweet lady making my sub something along the lines of "tell so-and-so to get out here". The employee stopped without a word and called for the other employee. She's literally doing something walk back there yourself? She had a nasty look on her face when I looked at her as she looked at me! Mad at the world apparently. Have human decency to say "excuse me" or "pardon me". I was more mad for the employee I actually told her I was sorry on behalf of what is supposed to be a leader/manager. Please learn basic human decency in your day to day interactions with employees/paying customers. read more

Great grocery store in South Orlando. If you are staying close to SeaWorld or at one of the Marriott Vacation Club properties, this is a great Publix to visit. For those of you who are new to FL, Publix is the grocery store to go to when in town. This location is clean, neat, well organized and had everything we wanted. In Florida, off to Publix. My hype was off the charts. No way they could live up to it. The service seemed slow. When I asked for the Orlando City sando, the server looked confused, so I ordered something different to speed up the process. So I had a classic chicken tender sando. I ordered a half, not sure it would be enough. And then...euphoria. The sandwich was delicious. It absolutely hit the spot. Well seasoned, with the chopped tenders and breading providing a lovely variety of textures with each bite. Just fantastic. I have been shopping here for 6 years and never had a problem using a check until today. The machine was reading the check as a third party check not a personal check. The manager blamed it on the check cashing company. Called the check cashing company who said it was the stores policy and they didn't reject it the store did. Went back in and spoke to the manager who again blamed the check cashing company. He saw it was not a third party check but would still not accept it. Never shopping there again. While vacationing for 10 days we hit up both this grocery store and a Winn-Dixie. The prices here were up there, but I am not sure if it was SOP for all Publix stores or just near the tourist area. Regardless, we preferred our trip to Winn-Dixie for the price point. This grocery store had everything we were looking for to stock our kitchen with, which we did the morning after our arrival. Husband mentioned the high price of the Tombstone pizza, saying that "it's $2 cheaper at home." Our cashier replied, "It's because this is a tourist area." Yes, it is, and the sale prices in the weekly circular ARE in effect, but high demand items are pricier here than at home. It was a convenient location to where we were staying, and buying food to cook at the condo was cheaper than dining out. This Publix was like ours at home - well lit, clean, and staffed with friendly, efficient people. It even had a section for Mickey Mouse mementos and other Orlando area souvenirs. Never reasonably good selection of fresh produce and meats, I think one of the best parts is probably the sandwiches that you can get here. They didn't have as many selections of single serve drinks those I thought, couldn't find apple juice single serve, ironically. But they do have a big wine selection and alcohol section, along with plenty of tourist Disney/Universal items and water play items. Pretty much like every other Publix out there. We were in the area and had some time to kill so we stopped in to look for a cake. It seems that the cake that we wanted is not something that they keep in stock in any of their stores from what we were told. If they had a day they could custom make one for us but I kind of needed it that day. Quite simply we were looking for a yellow cake with chocolate frosting for someone's birthday. It was their specific request. In the end I ended up having to bake one myself which turned out fine. Been to this Publix several times, but on this occasion, I had a $485 order that spread across two shopping carts. There was a young man by the name of Daniel that immediately greeted me and asked if he could assist me. He began unloading my shopping carts and also scanning the larger items. Daniel then asked if he could help me to my vehicle. Now, I've been a Publix shopper for many years, and I have to say, that I have not had anyone help me to the vehicle for some time now. Daniel made me remember why I enjoyed shopping at Publix in the first place. His customer service skills go over and beyond. I was so impressed with this young man that I even asked if he was open to a new opportunity. Daniel quickly responded with exactly the answer I expected from an employee that was so well seasoned and loyal to his employer. Publix is an awesome grocery store with everything that I shop for. But what stands out the most, is the Chicken Tender Sub from their deli counter. It's drenched in Buffalo sauce and is the perfect combo with veggies, chicken tenders, and cheese. It was conveniently located to the Sheraton. The store is mostly filled with vacationers. Publix can be pricey if you are used to shopping at Winn Dixie or Kroger. It is clean and appeared to be fully staffed with employees that offered a warm and welcoming smile. We went in to grab some vegetables, condiments, and ice cold beer to go along with our barbecue. The produce was fresh but pricey. There wasn't a lot of variety for bread but I did find brands I enjoy. There was also water toys ( noodles, floats, and body boards) available. Overall, if a local, I would probably recommend going to maybe Winn Dixie or Kroger. This Publix is one of the closest ones to Disney World. While vacationing in Orlando, my husband and I decided to stop by this location to stock up on some water, snacks and some fruit to keep in our hotel (and also great to bring some items to the theme parks to help save on money). To our surprise, there is a whole section in the market that you can buy Disney souvenirs and sun in the fun type of items. We ended up purchasing several souvenirs for family and friends back home and also a mist fan, the exact same one sold at the Disney theme parks for significantly more. In addition to the souvenirs that we purchased, we purchased the items that we had initially intended to buy when we came in. This market was clean and checking out at the register was reasonable. This Publix location is definitely worth a visit, especially to find some great affordable Disney souvenirs and gifts to bring back home for loved ones (and also to get yourself something too). read more

Compared to the Walmart we went to the night before, this was a day and night experience. Hours before Hurricane Ian hit, this location still had enough water and supplies to sell. They had all the registers open to help us get out quickly, AND the workers were unbelievably cheerful and kind during such a stressful time. Publix is publix. But let's just say what a total let down when I showed up here with my family. We went to the bakery for a Hispanic favorite... croquetas! And they don't have. This is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. They don't have? Not that they ran out, they don't make them at all!
