I have to say that you would seem to think that presenting in marketing themselves as a wholesale club to save everybody money would indeed save money but when you go through and your price conscious and you find prices that are a dollar a pound more for chicken or three dollars a pound more Than meat at your regular grocery store. Why spend the money now granted the variety of products to which they service and provide are far greater than that of your local grocery store perfect- example clothing. truly is it worth the money to be a member when really you don't save a lot of money. I had a screw in the sidewall of my tire, so I went to the Tire center the evening of 12/9/20. There was no one in there when I first walked in, so I went back to the car for a few minutes. When I went back in, this little guy came from the garage area in a pretty bad mood. He acted as if I was a bother. I was there before 7 pm & they closed at 8 pm, so I'm not sure what that attitude was about. Anyway, I told him about the screw, and he had me fill out the receipt form. Then he pulled my car in the garage only to then tell me that it couldn't be repaired & I'd have to replace it. The crazy thing then was he told me NOT to buy a tire from BJs because their warranty sucked (his words). He told me to go to some place called Discount Tires in Raleigh with a quote that he printed out for a completely different tire than I have. I have a new car. I'm not riding around with missed matched tires!!! Then he told me that Sam's club and Walmart tire centers had better warranties than BJs too. He topped my air off & I left. I ended up going to the dealership the next day for a tire. On another note, I order groceries from BJs via Instacart & it seems that every single time I order meat and produce, the meat is brown & the produce is already sprouting & growing into a doggone plant!!! The store manager at BJs in North Raleigh is very rude and unprofessional. I was on the phone with the Tire Bay Supervisor about getting my tires replaced. He was very professional and was really trying to help me. The Tire Bay Supervisor assumed he put me on hold when the store manager came in and was raising her voice to the point her voice was echoing. He was trying to explain he side of whatever the situation was, and she was cutting him off, she kept raising her voice as if he was a child. This should not be happened especially when excellent customer service starts with her. I felt so bad, I apologized to him because it was very embarassing. BJs gas is excellent! Short lines, if any, and low prices. BJs online could be better! I purchased a Vizio TV from BJs online before Thanksgiving. CEVA Logistics delivered the TV to my home address. I paid professionals to install the TV over my fireplace. Unfortunately, during their installation and unwrapping of the TV, we witnessed it damaged. I contacted BJs customer care, and they created a return order # on November 21, 2022. The date is now December 16. Unfortunately, I have waited since November 21 for BJs to pick up my TV. I contacted BJs customer care and CEVA multiple times, and neither one kept their numerous promises to pick up the TV. Additionally, adding insult to my injury, BJs sent an email stating that they have yet to receive the returned TV and must have it by next week, or I forfeit my return opportunity. read more

Received a postcard from BJ's in the mail and thought I'd stop in to sign up for the free three month trial. Once I got to BJ's, the employee at the help desk was nice enough to point out to me that the other offer on the postcard was actually better in the long run. Other postcard offer was pay $25 for 12 months and if I don't like the club, get a refund any time. The other option was the three month trial and when that ended, I'd owe the full $55 yearly fee. I went with the $25 option and we'll see if I end up shopping at BJ's enough to keep the 12 month deal... On to the store, it's very clean and very organized. The handful of employees I interacted with were all very friendly. I got a free sample of teriyaki chicken which was so good that I ended up buying the item, $10.99. Overall, I just wasn't sold on shopping there as a main grocery option. I tried to mentally compare items I knew I could get elsewhere - a four pack of soft soap brand hand soap was about $6.99. I typically buy Softsoap at the Dollar Tree, so BJ's price was way higher than my local dollar store... I price checked Flonase, wow. It was very high compared to what I pay for Flonase at Lidl. So, two for two, I was disappointed. I gave the store a full shot, though - I went up and down nearly every aisle. I ended up buying organic gummy bears for lunch snacks $13.99, hamburger rolls 12 pack $2.59, wasabi peas (huge container) $4.99, teriyaki chicken heat and serve $10.99, Welch's fresh nectarines $4.99, and a few other items. My total was just over $100. Just not sure I'll be put BJ's Wholesale into my regular rotation - once you go Lidl/Aldi, it's hard to pay what other stores charge! Might use gas pumps there if I'm down by Triangle, but they aren't convenient to my home location. Discounted gas is a plus, though. How do I love BJ's? To begin get your mind out of the gutter and let my wax poetic here for a few. You do not need to show your membership card to get in. A little time saver and much appreciated. Their deli counter is second to none. Dietz and Watson meats are available as well as their own house brand, and cheese, don't forget the cheese. The price of the cold cuts is on average $2-3 per pound cheaper then if you go to Harris Teeter to get your delicious Dietz and Watson. The savings are there, yes you pay for a membership, but the savings are there to compensate for it. When I signed up the lady helping me mentioned getting a BJ Credit Card which gives you $.10 off per each gallon of gas that you purchase. That right there pays for my membership each year. Plus you got points that are actually money to be used in the store. The store is always clean, the employees are friendly, the lines are never too long, sometimes you have to wait but savings = time which = money. There are many other things available at BJ's but the gas and deli are where I spend most of my money and just the savings I get from these departments makes it worth my while. read more

We like Bj's a lot which is why he have a membership. We have a small family but we love to stock up on essentials so that we won't have to buy them again for a long time When we arrived the parking lot wasn't full and the parking was great. I always seem to get the same parking space every time I go. Which is great. We had to go to customer service because our Bj's card had expired the lady that checked us out was really nice and she made sure that we had everything that we needed. While we were standing over there my husband notice that they had taken the food from the club and she did inform us that they were putting Dublin Donuts inside some of them but she wasn't sure if their store would get one. The store is well organized and well stocked. The only downside is that they only have original flavors of things nothing special. For example I wanted to purchase yogurt for my son and they only one choice with 2 flavors. And it would have been a waste of money to purchase a huge box of yogurt and he only liked one of the flavors. I never purchase my fruit from here because I feel like it goes bad quickly and it doesn't really look fresh. Overall it's a great store for household items and staples in your home. read more

BJ's Wholesale Club I am more than disappointed. Hubby purchased brand new cookware for me from BJs in July and the 3 largest pans have all warped. I can no longer use them on my ceramic stove top. Problem started right away but has slowly gotten worse. They have never even been in the dishwasher. I called customer service last week about it and was told I was just outside of the 90 day return window. Yet the online return policy clearly states ONE YEAR. I was told to file a claim with Calphalon. I called Calpahalon today and they let me file the claim - we will see. However during the call the rep questioned if I had contacted the store first and I told her I had but this caused me to re-consider and call BJs again just to see if they would do the right thing. I spoke to 2 more people today who basically told me to go pound sand and go through Calphalon. I told them I would be cancelling my membership and the asked me if they could help me with that! $200 item with very little use - defective but the MEMBERSHIP store won't help me avoid going through the whole warranty claim. As an experiment, I called Sams Club who told me as per their policy they WOULD allow me to return the item during the warranty period. I called Costco who told me according to their policy I could return the item INDEFINITELY. So..... I learned a lot this week when it comes to return policies through clubs. I am 5'2" so when I'm shopping sometimes, I can't reach certain things. Well, I jumped and jumped, used all my tricks but I couldn't get it. There were 2 employees talking by me. I asked for help and although she looked at me in the eyes, she looked away and continued to talk to the other employee and just walked away. Then the other employee walked away as well and helped another customer. When she finally came to me, the first thing I noticed was, she is shorter than me, how is she gonna help? She looked over and noticed that she can't reach it either and started walking away AGAIN. Then she said oh I'm gonna get the hook. It took us literally 10 minutes to take a look at a cooler. Bonus!!! We used that option. The interior was incredibly spacious with fun and assertive sales/sample servers. They were sweet even when slightly sale focused. Pricing signs very clear. In my opinion this BJ's is ok if quiet is what you're looking for. There is hardly anyone there during the weekdays. This are limited amounts of staff meaning maybe one or two cashiers. I prefer to shop at the one in Garner. It is clean but some items in the coupon book, this location does not carry. read more

Typical BJs with all the same kind of stuff. Location is kind of awkward. Its tough to navigate in and out of their parking lot and get back to Capital Blvd. Shopping center itself is a bit run down looking and there are several lower end stores in there. If you are a woman, alone after dark, you will not appreciate the parking lot. It's super dimly lit and like walking in the dark all the way to store entrance. When you add random cars of people pulling up in the darkened areas getting out of cars and speaking to each other like a drug deal through the rolled down windows (also with the smell of weed), you may not feel very comfortable if you aren't parked right up front. read more

Like most membership/warehouse clubs, BJs is big and well...warehouselike. They carry a similar selection of items to other clubs in the area including electronics, household supplies, and large sizes of grocery items to more economically feed your family or one large person with an out of control appetite. So what sets them apart? Well for starters, you don't have to whip out your membership card for entry. You'll need it to pay, though. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but it is nice not having to get it out twice per visit. Second, they take manufacturer's coupons and will stack those on top of BJ's coupons if they have one for the same item. Since their prices are pretty similar to the other clubs this is great. Third, they take Visa unlike some other places. They also have self checkout lines. I have kind of a love/hate relationship with these in that they're seemingly convenient, but I can't ever use them without the "assistance needed" light coming on. The trick seems to be having patience and not going too fast. One thing I'm not the biggest fan of with BJ's is when they move items to a different location. Sometimes if they have a coupon for an item, they'll move it to an end cap or middle of an aisle to spotlight it. The problem being that they don't leave any in the regular spot where I'm used to finding it so I'm left to think they just don't have it (which sometimes is the case) or I have to wander the store to find what I'm looking for. Went on a trial membership, bought $98 worth of stuff, and were happily out the door when the alarm on the way out triggered us as criminals. Uh oh...turned out the evidence was an open cd that was in my pocketbook. I immediately apologized that I had forgotten I had a cd in my purse...one that I had been listening to at work. (although I had obviously walked in the place with it and it didn't trigger an alarm). Anyway, I was seriously treated like a criminal. Made to wait while they went to look for the cd that was in my pocketbook. Waited and waited, and here was my saving grace...thankfully my taste in music is not popular, so the cd in my pocketbook was not one they sold there (thank you Linda Eder), so I was finally allowed to go without jail time. Now I realize the error was mine. I should not have walked in the store with an open cd in my pocketbook. However, I had just spent a good amount of money in the store, had explained the situation, and was still treated like a CRIMINAL. Years go by. Had boycotted the place. Time to make peace. A new "free trial membership" arrives in the mail. Decide to give it a new try on a Saturday afternoon. In we go, only to be put in a LONG line with ONE person working in the long line to get customer service. After waiting 20 minutes and not moving, we opted to leave and never come back. Am not giving it one star, as I realize some people who have memberships here obviously find value to the place. We can't seem to get that far. read more

Tires - very well rated tires at competitive prices - I cannot say enough how I have easily saved $50-$200 on a set of 4 tires on more than one occasion by shopping around at the discount tire places and eventually coming back here for the tires. Membership "Perk" Rewards for in club spending - my plan gives me back 5% of my in-club purchases as rewards to use at the register and gives me an additional $0.10 off of gas at the BJ's pumps. Competitive pricing (including with BJ's coupons) if you know what you're shopping for and what the competitors prices are. For instance, if you know you can get boneless skinless chicken breast on sale at Krogers for less than what the club is offering, by all means, go to Krogers. Acceptance of Manufacturers coupons (other clubs do not do this) FRIENDLY COURTEOUS checkouts - people do not treat me like I'm an inconvenience and they are happy to strike up a conversation during the checkout process. Acceptance of All major credit cards instead of limiting to one like other membership clubs Returns without a receipt - yes, it's for store credit, but they will do it. Sometimes, one will find a deal that cannot be passed up because it is just too good of a price (like 75% off of a particular item that one KNOWS cannot be bought for that price anywhere else). Today, August 29th, I went to BJ's. We live 30 miles from there, but I have had a membership for about 10 years when I lived in Maryland and now 10 years here. I bought what I went in to buy and then some other items. A cashier did (NOT) do his job and apparently forgot to charge me for 2 items. I wasn't feeling well and was stopped by the person who counted items that did not tally. At that point I was ready to go get my money back and leave. I was directed to Customer Service, who identified the 2 items. I left them-and one was what my husband had wanted. I certainly did not feel like a valued customer and said there were other places to shop. I find there are a lot of places anymore that do not properly train their employees and service seems no concern to businesses. When I feel like I have been treated poorly-not my fault that the cashier did not do his job correctly. I would have paid for the items and hadn't realized that I hadn't. After 20 years, they don't sound like they want to keep their customers. I am thinking I can help with that. read more

Im going to have to give this location 1 star. We are new to BJ'S . We have been loyal customers to Costco, but since our family has gotten smaller (kids moved out ). We decided to go here, cause you can buy smaller bulk. My husband and I where there on Wed. We bought our membership. The lady at customer service was very pleasant, talkative, attentive and she knew her stuff. As we walked through the warehouse I realized they weren't so much cheaper in price then Costco and it will last longer. The meat is definitely lower quality then others. When we where at the register the cashier was rushing us. I did not know I had to cut out my coupons before. My husband to her to hold on while I fished cutting coupons, but she insisted on continue to scan my items. I was very upset, I think I might have missed on savings. When we payed and proceeded out NOT A THANK YOU.. I'm definitely going back to Costco.... there was a living social or groupon deal to buy a membership back in April so we did just that. Since then my family and I go here for bulk items. recently it was my one stop shop for refreshments needed for my daughter's 4 yr old party. The items like popcorn,chips come in a large bag and its buy one get one free. The italian meatballs found in the frozen food section ( covered in bbq sauce) were a hit amongst guests. The fruit and veggie platter were fresh and a good price. Everyone loved the birthday cake. The bakery staff was very helpful in showing us a selection of ideas for her butterfly themed birthday that were only on the pc,not in the book. We got to customize to our liking and it tasted great. My lil one enjoys when we have to shop at Bj's because they have the shopping cart cars that allow for her favorite doll to be a passenger. Alos there is a guy at the entrance that greets her with a "hey , you wanna build a snowman " line from the movie Frozen. Then we proceed to start shopping with a smile! read more

I love this store. We get a boat load of groceries that last for cheap. Someone complained about spending 80 bucks on not very many items. The fact is we leave with an over flowing cart for around 200, and the food lasts a good while. It's nice not having to replenish on toilet paper, dishwasher soap, paper towels, and trash bags except for maybe once a month? It's a great feeling. Don't buy tires here. I purchased 4 tires and scheduled a time to get them installed all via their web site. At the scheduled time to get the tires installed BJ's had 3 of the 4 tires. They didn't call or EMail to inform me. Three days later they had the fourth tire and when I go there to get them installed they say the tires are oversized and won't install the tires. I ordered the tires from their web site and after a couple of calls to the Tire Customer service line they confirmed the tires were the right ones and installed the tires.
