I went with a friend to browse around in their men's Department. The store was clean and organized. They are expensive like a Dillards or Macys, so be sure to look for coupons on their site if you are in the mood to make a purchase. They had very nice clothing, which was what he was going to browse for. He wanted business attire. They have a great selection. I have no complaints. Men's Belk Great place to take your man. Yes it is in the mall but has its own entrance and you can find just about anything you are looking for..... shoes to suits. The reason for the 4 star. I had to do a return on an online purchase and stopped at the entrance and asked Diana/Diane where I could do my return and she said she'd be glad to help me with it. I didn't have my Belk card with me but she was happy to help. She looked up my account and made my return as smooth as silk! My go to place for clothes, but I have to wait for the sales. Store layout is ok but it is always a problem finding a cashier. The prices are better than other places and the have good selections except in the handbag department. Everything is the expensive stuff now. Belk is a department store that is very similar to a old school now instinct store in New York called Stern's. Belks, like Stern's and Macy's offers coupons and reward credit cards. Belk was founded in 1888 by William Henry Belk in Monroe, North Carolina, with nearly 300 locations in 16 states. Headquartered in Charlotte N.C. I have only shopped here twice when in the south. Now that I have relocated and have been in search of quality clothing for work, I decided to visit again yesterday. They were running a few good sales and I needed business casual comfortable summer clothing for work. They offer brands such as The Limited, French Connection, Micheal Kors, Jessica Simpson, Ralph Lauren, Coach and Kate Spade, Lily Pulitzer to name a few. I will definitely say this store is dedicated to women in their 50's. There is nothing fresh faced about the styles and brands. This is the only reason I shop for work clothing here. They have a large selection of houseware items as well. The children's section is terrible. Nothing at all to choose from. Customer Service on the sales floor is hard to find. read more

It was a busy Saturday and I received great customer service in every department. Some store don't have sales woolen on the floor anymore but Belk still does. Belk is one of my go to department stores when I am shopping for myself or someone else. You can find something for everyone, plus the service is always great and they often have fun shopping events. Recently I attended a Trunk Show in their handbag department. Have you ever visited the What Goes Around Comes Around handbag department inside Belk Crabtree? It's located on level one near the Eyewear and other handbags. They offer an amazing selection of pre-owned (or as they say PRE-LOVED)  handbags from luxury brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton ,Chanel , Prada , YSL and more! I was impressed with how some of the bags looked brand new yet at a better price! I purchased some jewelry for my wife today at Belk's fine jewelry department. The young lady ( I should have gotten her name) she was wonderful. She was very polite, professional and very knowledgeable of the merchandise. I really appreciate a sales person who knows the stock etc. She was so good that I purchased a few items. This Belk is beautiful and very well stocked. I used their bridal registry for my wedding and had a good experience registering and completing my china and crystal sets. The cosmetic department has the very best service of all. The sales associates are friendly and very helpful, obliging with samples and testing different fragrances and makeup items. If you are a regular customer you are usually greeted by name and they'll even clue you in on upcoming sales. If you want a good selection of china, crystal and housewares, Belk is awesome. They carry all the major manufacturers and the Fiesta Ware lines, Kitchenaid appliances and more. Clothing and fashion stock is great. The store is hit or miss in terms of customer service. I would write that off to careless youth, except that I've gotten the same offhand and even outright dismissive treatment from the sales associates. I've been ignored although in line, had the person behind me addressed first, or even been glanced at and passed by without a word. The last time I shopped the associate didn't speak to me even once throughout the entire transaction except to announce my total amount due, although she continued her chat with her coworker. She bagged my items, held it out while looking at and talking to her friend. I sarcastically said, "you're welcome" and walked away. They started laughing after I turned the corner and they thought I was out of their site. I don't think I am SPAYSHOOL or anything but a hello and thanks are not too much to expect as a paying customer. Great store, sketchy service. read more

The men who work here are incredibly creepy. I saw these men follow around young teenage girls and follow them into dressing rooms and take pictures of them. This was the workers!! Very disappointed! When my kids get older I will never allow them to go into this belk ever! It's horrible how this world has become and I am very disappointed. If you're a young girl or have young girls please keep them away from this place! You wouldn't expect this from a nicer store, but here we are. read more

Ok. Short and sweet. Had to go to Raleigh to pick up a carpet so decided to stay overnight and have a fun trip. First the mall where they are, is just off the highway. It was a Saturday afternoon and traffic was bumper to bumper. So if going would say pick your times. Parking was limited so we said hey. Let's call the phone number and pickup the carpet. We called about a half a mile from the store, followed directions to the pickup area and viola. The guy was carrying the goods out in about five minutes. I am writing this review for the Makeup Counter at Belks. For the past 15 years, I have purchased my foundation at Department Stores that have make up counters. Belks is the store that I have gone to since living in Raleigh. April at the Laura Mercier counter has matched colors for me perfectly. She has always been so knowledgeable about skin tone, colors and types that work best for customers. Within the past year or so she moved over to the Bobbi Brown makeup counter. Because I trust her completely I too switched to their makeup. Although she would work for one makeup company, she never hesitated to recommend other types if she felt that would better suit the customer. She is always honest with her recommendations and will never steer a customer to one product over another because of a higher price to make a sale. Well now she works over the entire Makeup department and Belks couldn't have picked a better person to do this job. I highly recommend and can't say enough positive words about April in the Belks Makeup counter. She is phenomenal! Go to her for any makeup questions and products. But for the collared polos, I wouldn't recommend or you will have a heck of a time when trying to remove the entire one piece when trying to change their diaper! read more
