This company has I think three locations and I've been to the one in downtown but have not been to the one off of Florida Avenue. Each location instead of menus. And I gotta say the downtown Florida Avenuelocation and the Florida Avenue location both of them are equally great. The staff are really nice. The place is nice and clean in the indoor and outdoor seating is a lot of fun. The Florida Avenue location does have limited parking and the downtown one plenty of parking. Either way I was there to meet a group of ladies and we had a nice time discussing our businesses and enjoying black and brewed food . read more

Finally got around to stopping by for lunch and highly recommend! It's well known they have some of the best and most hip coffee/matcha combos in the area, but the food is super good as well! This place definitely draws a lunch time crowd and parking can get a bit tough. There's a Choose 2 lunch special where you can get half sandwich and half soup or salad which I wish I knew about prior to getting to the counter and ordering. Food: The pesto chicken sandwich was delicious! Pesto not too overpowering or oily. Things to note- it was definitely not pressed as much as in pictures on the website and it felt a bit skimpy with the mozzarella cheese. Overall would get again as the Choose 2 special and get one of their beautiful salads to go alongside it. Drink: Their coffee is delish and I thoroughly enjoyed my vanilla lavender latte. I've tried the matcha previously and noticed that the barista poured it premixed out of a jug. It was pretty dark in color too. So I'm slightly iffy on the matcha, but the coffee is a 10/10. read more

Stopped here to get some coffee for on the road back to Pompano Beach. My daughter got the Matcha, which had a neon green color, and wasn't what she expected. I took a sip of my coffee, and realized a sip was more than enough. The drink experience definitely a two star. However, the place looks nice and trendy, with lots of seating outside. Seems like a popular spot, with a good menu. Maybe next time we give them another shot, they seem to be with it. So my twos star is just this one time disappointing experience, but might not reflect Black & Brea's true quality. read more

Spent the day coworking with some of my favorite people at this Black & Brew location in Lakeland which was cute & cozy on a rainy day. Some of us live in Orlando & some in Tampa so this was a great spot to meet in the middle. We ended up having both breakfast and lunch here so we all got a well-rounded experience of the menu. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. For breakfast, I got the apple butter bowl (Greek yogurt, strawberries, banana, blueberries, house-made granola and apple butter) which was light & delicious. My husband had the praline bacon sandwich which he really enjoyed. We also started with their seasonal Shaken Espresso Coquito. I'm a sucker for coquito anytime it's on the menu so I had to try it... a little on the sweet side but still very yummy & creamy! Around lunch time, we were hungry again so I got the Welsh rarebit tartine (five-cheese blend of sharp cheddar, gorgonzola, feta, parmesan, and mozzarella, topped with marinated tomatoes). This tartine was light and packed with flavor! I which I could take home and entire container of that cheese spread, it was so good. Our group also tried various bowls, salads, & sandwiches. Both the chimichurri bowl and the Florida bowl were highly recommended. I was happy to see there are actually 3 Black & Brew locations in Lakeland. 5 Stars for a really great lunch (get the Florida bowl!) and perfect coffee shop to meet for some coworking. I met up with some coworkers in Lakeland and we opted to meet at Black & Brew. Right from the moment we pulled in, I noted the drive-thru (YESSSS), ample covered outdoor seating, and bright airy design inside. I ordered the seasonal coquito espresso drink (decaf) and a Florida Bowl, while my friend got the half sandwich, half salad lunch option. The Florida Bowl was sooooo damn good. It was packed with lemon-herb quinoa, baby kale, citrus grilled chicken, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, a boiled egg, and avocado crema. I didn't think I'd finish it, but there was not one grain of quinoa left at the end. The coquito espresso drink was super tasty, but honestly far too sweet for my taste. That's not a knock on it in general though, because I don't normally add sugar to my coffee, so I took a risk with the flavor. Finally, last thing I'll note is the great service. Jackie helped take our order and came by to check on us throughout. Though it's counter service, we definitely felt the love! Overall, a great spot for lunch. Great spot to hang out and cowork in Lakeland! I ordered a latte with whole milk as well as the half pesto chicken and half strawberry praline salad. I also tried my coworker's coquito iced shaken espresso. The staff is incredibly friendly, and Jackie was a delight! The latte was good, nothing exciting to note being that it's coffee and milk! I really enjoyed the pesto chicken sandwich and thought the salad was OK - the praline bacon and candied nuts were verrrrrry sweet so I ended up pushing them off to the side, but I liked the dressing a lot! The coquito shaken espresso is VERY sweet, but I'm sure it could be ordered less sweet if we knew ahead of time! There's a lot of outdoor seating here and some indoor seating as well. Finally got to check out the newest B&B! Black & Brew is an iconic set of local coffee shops in Lakeland- the original is located in downtown, and then there is a second one at the Polk County Library right along Lake Morton. Both are super adorable and the vibes are immaculate. Black & Brew is one of my favorite spots to hit whether to sit and do homework, catch up with friends or family, or even just a quick coffee to go. So it was very exciting to hear that a new location would open up in South Lakeland much closer to where I live. This location is actually in the building where the south Krispy Kreme used to be before it closed down (rip). I feel that the decorations definitely match the vibes of what a Black & Brew is about, though it still seems a bit lackluster like it's missing something. You can definitely tell it's newer and they were quick to try and be open. The outside seating is a super nice touch. Compared to the downtown location, this one has a much, much more limited food menu. Like probably half of the normal menu. But this being said, the product is still just as good as you could hope for. A favorite of mine is the Strawberry Pecan salad- it's incredible! They have some great paninis as well. And you can't really go wrong with any coffee there. The frappes are especially good and make Starbs look like a fool (it's just the truth). Lastly, this location does also have wifi if you want to do work or homework- the downtown one does not have free wifi unfortunately. One big downside is the parking- the lot is really awkward and so they have overflow parking about a block away. So if you can park close it's great but that could get annoying. read more

Black & Brew - because everyone should know what love tastes like. Some high school kids recommended this place several years ago and took me by. That's when my addiction began. This place is far more than food - it is an atmosphere where you can go and truly relax. The food is amazing. My favorites are the Strawberry prailine salad, chicken pesto sandwhich and bacon praline breakfast sandwhich. There is no place I've found anywhere that makes savory food that brings nutrients and flavor everytime I go. Their iced chai tea latte's are amazing. AMAZING. If you have tried them elsewhere and are 'eh about them...give these a try. Their Lake Morton/library location was always my favorite - but was a bit far for me. It was worth the drive. Then they opened their south location. I couldn't imagine how they would bring the same atmosphere to an old donuts drive thru place. They have done it. I go there to just breathe. Customer service is also top notch. I never ever leave thinking an employee is anything but patient, friendly and accommodating. Even when I ask for their strawberry jelly after the fact. Seriously - I don't know how they manage to make their food so consistently but they do. As I said - love in every bite. read more

The white bean salad and whipped feta, paired with the marinated chicken makes a perfect lunch. One of the best gourmet breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten. First thing is the egg soufflé is ultralight silky creamy smooth deliciousness, not that overcooked fake eggs served near those golden arches. I ordered the BEC sandwich. Next it's covered with cheese and reg bacon and I added the praline bacon $2.25 extra. They cook it perfectly. It's on Born and Bread sourdough bread (outstanding local bakery go there) which takes this sandwich to another level. Finally I asked for some of their tomato bacon jam and wowee that's Unami. It's savory sweet delicate crunchy and your taste buds will dance. I toasted it a little bit when I took it home for a little extra crunch. They have a few locations. Their espresso is my favorite and my typical orders are a cappuccino with 1 extra shot and heavy cream or an iced caramel macchiato with an extra shot and half sweet. They are delicious every time. Their bfast sandwiches as well as lunch fare are always tasty and fresh. Yesterday, I had a caesar salad and lobster bisque. Delicious! The bisque was so creamy and buttery. This seems like a newer location of a Lakeland classic- Black & Brew! Parking is a bit limited, but there is overall parking past the neighboring hotel at the bowling alley. I got a vanilla alley and a biscuit breakfast sandwich. Both were enjoyable! The biscuit was the star of the show. I appreciated the actual plate ware, but they do also offer to go. Indoor seating is limited but there is a bunch of outdoor seating. There were also signs for an online ordering pickup process. read more

Since no one wears a name tag here I can only describe her as a heavier set dirty blonde female with a hoop nose ring. Just beyond rude. Please teach your staff something about giving good customer service. It's hard to want to patronize this business or even tip staff when you are confronted with such an aggressive attitude. 2.5 stars total, you just can't recover from poor service. read more

Food and drinks are always amazing! I live three minutes from here and work 8, therefore making it my main spot for coffee and an amazing salad for my lunch. The last few months I've noticed an extravagant decline is moral. My only assumption would be management or someone higher up (I've been there plenty of times.) I hate to see the smiling faces I once walked into change so drastically in just a few months to no fault of their own I'm sure, as only a few of those wonderful faces have changed. They're all what seem to be so young too which upsets me more because it's generally management or higher ups that makes an enjoyable job like this COMPLETELY MISERABLE. I know what it looks like to be Burt out because of the work and be burnt out because of the people you are under. Baristas are great. Doesn't seem like upper management is doing what they need to do for the store though. Do better whoever you are. Such a cozy gem tucked off of a seemingly meh street in Lakeland. They have a drive thru which is so unique for a more craft coffee shop. Their patio is covered and so cute, very spacious with lots of tables and room to move around. Inside is a slightly smaller seating set up but they have a comfy couch bench with 3-8 tables (if you split them up you get a lot more) and two single seat window tables. My husband and I loved this cute little restaurant. It was like a panera style but WAY better. My favorite thing that I've tried is the strawberry salad. The goat cheese melts in your mouth and the praline bacon is something I've never had before and can't get enough of. My husband and I both got iced teas that were very good just not very sweet but that was alright. The service was quick but the seating is limited. There was more seating outside than on the inside. The only reason I only gave 4 stars was because they only had one item for kids which was the bear toast. Unfortunately, my son wasn't a fan of Nutella so he didn't eat it and we had to by him a muffin. I wish they would have options for kids. But regardless, we will be back but it will have to be only for a day date. read more

Drive thru is only for pick ups that are pre-ordered (which is not my style, so disappointing but guess it works for them.) Tartine was divine-I wouldn't have tried it but there were few pastries to choose from. So appreciated the deeper dive into their menu. Took some great chili to eat for supper--flavorful.
