Sometime ago I came to this restaurant for breakfast it was decent . Brought my husband back. It was about 10am in the morning and they informed me they're not gonna serve breakfast anymore just coffee and biscuits. Very disappointing. In fact the young lady was extremely rude about it. Some time passes and I decided to go back again. The same thing happens! The excuse was they're a small kitchen and they can't accommodate. Apparently no more breakfast food available at 10am on a Sunday for breakfast . I just happened to see this store front and decided to give it a try. I would have never know it was there if I didn't see it while leaving Home Depot. The outside is cute and it seems to be a quiet little location. Inside was really pretty. There was lots of art work and it looked like artists are able to hang and sell their work at this cafe. I ordered a mocha latte with oat-milk. I think the size of the drink is small for the price, but they say they have fresh roasted beans. From what I can tell they so seem fresh and my latte is really delicious. It's not overpowered by oat-milk and has a sweet taste, but you get more of the coffee. read more

I loved the Eggs Florentine, a healthier version of the Eggs Benedict. I'm not a big breakfast potato fan, so I didn't eat much of those although the seasoning was good. A few pieces of fruit rounded out the approximately $16 breakfast plate. The mocha latte I was not a fan of because it tasted burnt, so that was a waste. There were several other menu items I'd love to go back and try when I'm in the area at breakfast time. The server was friendly and efficient running 6 tables alone. It was a rainy morning, so nobody was sitting at the outdoor tables. It's definitely a cute little place with great food. Another Westside disappointment! I wanted very much to have a great experience. There were just too many issues that can't be overlooked. I left wanting and expecting more for a high end breakfast. Pro - The coffee is delicious. Con - No one ever refills your cup after its gone. Pro - The hollandaise sauce is fantastic. Con - I ordered a classic Benedict. The first poached eggs were raw with unset whites. The replacement set were hard boiled. No attempt to rectify the second failure was offered. Pro - All the ingredients seemed to be high quality. The potatoes were well seasoned and the fruit was fresh. Con - The restaurant was severely under staffed. Many patrons that sat after us left because they waited 15 minutes or more for menus or coffee. The staff that was there was competent and friendly, but they never had a chance to keep up. My server ultimately got me some "to go" coffee when we tabbed out and this sort salvaged what was a pretty bad $40 breakfast for 2 experience. I know a lot of owners want to blame covid, but a lot of restaurants out there are performing very well in this environment. I will try them again someday and see if they rebound. read more

This is a small cafe with limited seating. There are 6 four-person tables with no standing or sitting waiting area inside but there were 2-3 chairs outside to wait. The inside decor seemed dated and sort of hodgepodge thrown together. When we were there, at least, it wasn't that loud of a place which was a big pro. Neither of us enjoy a really rowdy or loud breakfast spot so it was nice to find more of a chill-vibed place. When we arrived, all inside seating was full so we sat outside (they have about 4-5 tables outside as well), but it was rainy and chilly, so people were deciding to wait for an inside table instead of eating outside, or leave instead of wait. There were no heaters which would have made outdoor eating more enjoyable. Several of the tables had umbrellas but not all. The servers were realistic. They were friendly and tried to be as accommodating as they could be. They recognize the restaurant is small and tried to get us in as quickly as possible. They made up for the above in great food and good portions. Half the people left with to-go containers. The food was good. We heard compliments from other guests, "Tell the chef this food was delicious." And I agree. I could taste all of the components of my dish. Everything had a pleasant flavor and nothing was overpowering. One other con I suppose is I don't understand having large coffee cups with such small handles. I have a hard time picking them up and it feels like the cup is going to break off from the handle. It's not a cheap cup, but it is impractical. Food was fantastic and the service was great. I had the breakfast croissant, my husband had the Phoenix omelet both were outstanding. Another patron was having the pancakes and I asked if they were as good as they looked, her response was "best pancakes I've ever had". I'll be having the pancakes next time! OK, this is a tough one. We were there and granted it was Mother's Day and they were crowded. The food was good and the portions were More than adequate. There are only 6 table inside and less outside. We met there as it was between us and Mom. And it got Great ratings on YELP. That said, The Good : They had a Rose for each mother! As mentioned, the entrees were good and serving size was Great. The Bad : After being seated we wait and ordering, we were told what they were out of. Then after ordering, in addition to what we were already told, we were informed what two of us ordered they were now out of. We were there 90 Minutes before we FINALLY got our Food. And we were served two at a time, so two had to wait and watch two eat. So do not go with more than two if you want to eat together. When we were asked if anything was wrong, instead of apologizing or at least showing some empathy, they just adamantly explained their kitchen was small and that was just the way it was. We were in the area and were looking for a place to stop. It's a cute little cafe, and love the concept of the black and white photography and art. We did come when they were switching over from breakfast to lunch, so the wait was a little longer than probably usual. Two people who came in after us left because no one came to get their drink order. I think the key thing here to remember is that you cannot get breakfast here all day, which may have swayed our decision to stop. BUT, I'm also glad we didn't know that before hand and still ended up stopping in. Their breakfast menu looked tasty, but since it was lunch we ordered the Chicken Pesto and Smoked Turkey. There was a lunch special of a burger and fries and we asked if we could have fries with our sandwiches, but were told they were only if your ordered the burger...a little disappointing. However, I can look past not being able to get fries because our sandwiches were very good. Thick cuts of Turkey, fresh ingredients, the bread was toasted to perfection. My side salad was lovely and the "Cole slaw" was a delightful mix of kale, cabbage, craisens, and sunflower seeds with poppy seed dressing. Amazing service. They said they were running about 30-35 behind on food. Which I really appreciated them letting us know that while we sipped on our coffees. Speaking of coffees you have to get their chai latte. It may be the best I've ever had. The Norwegian Benedict was so well done. From the just slightly over poached eggs, to the capers and red onions, with the star being that hollandaise sauce. I really enjoyed this dish. Going to be honest I don't really get the cucumber. But loved the seasoning around the plate. I think it was togarashi. The pancakes were also above average. With a crispy crust and fluffy interior. Can go wrong with them. ESPRESSO MADE FROM BADLY BURNED COFFEE BEANS !! This is a local cafe, and I love to support such establishments...if they are good. Sadly, this place is not. Bad drinks, bad food, bad service. Nice menu, but it's made out of cardboard and you can't eat that. Even at the crummiest cafes, you may get flavorless espresso, but rarely do you get burned beans. Well, here you do. And mind you, they advertise that they roast their own coffee beans. I hope they fire that person, if they wish to stay in business. I should have read the Yelp reviews more closely. Somebody else complained of burned coffee beans way back in December, so it's clear the problem is of long standing and still not fixed. I went here since they had lox Benedict on the menu. The Benedict turned out to be stuffed with slices of raw onions, and liberally sprinkled with capers on top. Was that an 8-year-old in the kitchen, experimenting with what foods not to combine?? I will add that the lox Benedict dish was gorgeous. Whoever is in charge of arranging how food is plated is masterful. But I came here to eat, not to do a photo shoot. And then there is the service. Two waitresses only, and they were just slammed with the work they had to do. Everything took super long. I asked for salsa for my potatoes, and was told it's coming. I went to pay my bill, and still no salsa. Finally, if none of this dissuades you, consider their capacity. The place is tiny, and half the seating is outside. If you come on a day when outside dining is a bad idea, you will probably get a breakfast by the time lunch rolls around. Back to my old standby, Wildflower Bread, next time I'm eating breakfast out. Visited today around 11:15 am and was told they "ran out of breakfast". How does a place touting Sunday brunch until 2pm, run out of breakfast at all, but especially on a weekend, when people are off of work and can actually go out for brunch? I really want to support local businesses, but it was pretty annoying to drive all the way there and be turned away because a restaurant doing breakfast daily and brunch on Sundays "ran out of breakfast". In my 45 years of existence I've never had this happen. Clearly, someone failed at their job and didn't plan or stock the kitchen properly, and seems to continually be very consistent at it. Not likely to go back. First impressions are everything and every other breakfast joint in Phoenix has a handle on basic planning, especially for busy weekends. It seems Keith M ran into the same problem I did, 3 months ago, but noone seems to care or want to fix things. Is anyone reading these?! Other reviewers mentioned this issue, as well. So, to me, there is no desire to improve & serve customers better here. Please do better, owners & management. read more

WOW! What a great little hidden cafe! This little cafe is located in North Glendale in the Upper West Side. This place is hidden near the Home Depot off of 59th ave and west Behrend Dr. They offer lots of interesting breakfast dishes, salads, sandwiches, all kinds of coffee related drinks, pastries and danish. It's a tiny place with only 6 tables inside and a few outside. They offer wait service and I noticed an application for alcohol so that might be coming. I tried the Californian Chicken Salad. I was really surprised and impressed that they made the chicken fresh to order and was seasoned nicely. My salad contained candied walnuts, sliced grapes, sliced oranges, avocado cubes and greens in a balsamic vinaigrette. I thought this is among the best salads that you can get in this part of town. ($13.00..subject to change) My husband tried the BBQ Chicken Salad. It was also made with the fresh grilled to order chicken, corn, black beans, cheese, tortilla strips, lime and came with dressing and bbq sauce. He really enjoyed it. We also shared a croissant. I hate rating a small business poorly but we've given this establishment several chances to impress as we live close by. But today's service or lack thereof from the teenage male was enough to stop attempting. We showed up at 11am (hours 7am-2pm) and the minute we entered the door, rather than a "hello, welcome in", our greeting was "our breakfast service is closed". Not being picky we said, "ok we've never had lunch here so we can give it a try" to which he rolled his eyes and said we could sit down but he would not take our order for 30 minutes while they finished with the remaining customers (2 tables) that were still having breakfast. Never wish anyone poorly but hope ownership is more engaged to know how they are represented. In the past, food and service were questionable so we were already on Strike 3 for the restaurant. I'm good with going daily to the Hot Bagel location just around the corner by a few steps that is always packed or even the Biscuit Cafe close by for a quick local bite. Or getting to First Watch or The Place. All of which we've had hundred of amazing meals over the past 20 years in the neighborhood. read more

New Year, new place to eat. We decided to try this cafe this morning. Arrived around 8:00 am and sat outside on the patio. Inside music a bit loud for us. The service was excellent! She explained the special and other helpful menu info. Hazelnut latte and hot chocolate were perfect on this crisp morning. Hubby had the non-menu special, croissant breakfast sandwich, and I had the American breakfast. The server said the potatoes were delicious and she was spot on. Bacon and eggs were delicious. No complaints here, good portions. Pancakes for dessert, think French toast and pancakes got married. Yummy!! One final try, a cup of their coffee with cream and sugar.
