Great service sooo many options and great family atmosphere! Amazing food done right!

Lots of waiting: at the door, at the table (they tried to seat us right in front of the kitchen door even though there were others ready), waiting for coffee that didn't come, always waiting for the waitress. Onion rings came right out of the freezer. Waitress couldn't take cash so we had to check out at the register with the dude who couldn't even look at us and mumbled something unintelligible. Cute little diner that got extremely busy while we were there. Food was good! I had the Bread Pudding French Toast. I wish I had asked if the bread had raisins (cause I don't like raisins), so I ended up picking them out. My daughter had the Joe's omelette which she said was delicious and definitely what she was craving. Grandson had the Volcano breakfast which he wasn't able to eat all of. Few restaurants know how to prepare and cook Chicken Fried Steak. I found this one after Al T's (best in The Golden Triangle) closed. Black Bear had great service and food two years ago. The Chicken Fried Steak was perfect. About six months ago, everything started to decline. The service has gone from bad to terrible. Today I had to remind the waiter that I had ordered a salad. It arrived after the main dish was served. Chicken Fried Steak was overcooked to the consistency of a piece of leather. Seasonal vegetables tasted terrible. Another one bites the dust! read more

Food was good as usual but sat us @ a table in back with mop and broom and dust pan propped up behind us. GROSS & UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

I usually love the food here, but the service today was very disappointing. I don't mind waiting to get a seat due to being busy. I don't mind if the order wasn't exactly what I asked for... I do mind that the waitress never came to refresh my coffee, while refreshing other customers right next to me. I waited 20 minutes for the food and the manager brought it to me, and tried to make excuses why my 1 order took longer than 4 orders from one table that was returned and replaced. Not to mention that I was sitting and ordered before them. Then it was an incorrect order so I had to wait longer. I always enjoy this place so I'll chalk it up to a busy day. Did I mention that never saw the original waitress again, and I am currently the only person occupying a seat in her area lol. She is literally cleaning the booth in front of me and did not ask if I needed anything. Thumbs down today. read more

Came in for dinner on a Sunday. Had a waitress (with a mask on) walk by and make a comment about me sitting at the bar. At the same time another customer who had clearly not been helped got up and walked out. Right about the time I was deciding if I would stay, that same waitress walked up to the cash register scolding the woman there telling her she needed to put a hold on seating anyone else because, "I can't keep up with all this". It's important to note that the dining area was less than 1/2 full. I will not be coming back as long as there is a manager that keeps people like this employed. Zero stars! Good location to hotels. Good variety on menu- breakfast all day. Welcomed by staff and seated quickly. Restaurant clean. Food out pretty quickly. I always order sausage patties (cost extra) because I don't like consistency/flavor of links- when came out, was link sausage pressed to patty- not for me! Scrambled eggs were ok- needed some season. Waffle was very good! Huge biscuits with gravy, looked good but didn't end up trying after sausage was not great. Reasonable prices for too much food ( per menu- too much food is their goal). If you want waffle- worth the stop, rest not sure if bad day but would not go back for unfortunately. read more

This review is based on 2 visits 3 days apart 1 lunch/dinner and the other for breakfast. My first visit they were out of almost everything except breakfast food, my waitress explained this to me so it was breakfast for lunch/dinner. I still tipped $30 because the waitress did the best she could. The second visit today was a disaster, started out great, I ordered a omelet and grits and the waitress was on it....20 minutes later I was informed that my order would be late because the cook had some issues while cooking, (ok I understand no problem) 15 minutes later I get the omelet (still no grits) and it was completely bland. I live that you can get breakfast, lunch, dinner all day long! Including prime rib when available. Loved the service and food. I had the blackberry stuffed French toast. This was very good! I loved even more the truck stop attached to it! Showers, massage chairs, 3 foot length Twix bars, and leather gifts. read more

Horrible Managment Conduct; what an embarrassing situation the entry service agent, slender "Ashley!" An embarrassement to this business. Closes at 10 PM; walked in like a 9:10 PM and she literally begins to bark about how they closes at 10:00 PM and the cooks needed to leave. Said they could only fix burgers chicken strips and some other item. Said I wanted to order the meat loaf, so he yells at the guys if there is time. Took less than 10 minutes to get to my table, withstanding I told them upon entry. She did it not only to me, a Mexican man, but to a white family and a black couple that took a table, looked at each other and got up and left. She appeared to be entertaining others seated at the bar. Horrible conduct for anyone, but she took the cake. Waitress I think; Ashley also was noticeably embarrassed and was a great waitress. Tipped her $10 on a $27.44 ticket and gave her $3 more in cash she was so great. Skinny black lady that I think I heard someone call her Ashley. I hope real management reviews the video of 05-01-2025 from like 9:10 PM to 9:30PM. She should never be allowed to serve in whatever capacity when dealing with customers. Shameful and disgraceful conduct. Researching for general, district and regional management contact info in order to report. Called management of that location but could only leave a voice message. I hope they return my call and included if any retribution calls will take harrassment action. I work in the customer care position for a law office and would seek recourse if such occurs. Service was slow and horrible. I ordered off with creamer. Never got the creamer ended up drink the coffee black. It was actually ok. The food was not so great. I ordered the pancake and omelette. The omelette came first. Despite having added other ingredients it was flavorless not enemy a sprinkle of salt and pepper. I'm not sure why but my 1 pancake seems to had been forgotten about. It came like 10 mins later, Not hot, and then I had to wait on the syrup. I won't go there again. read more
