The gym was a very nice gym. It wasn't too crowded and had a lot machines to workout on. You have your cardio machines and free weights and much more. If you staying at the hotel next door. I highly recommend coming here because the hotel gym isn't the best. If you want a good workout then come to this gym. The staff were really nice and loved how they make shakes at the shake bar they have. Each staff member had a smile and looked like they wanted to be there. At the shake bar, You can get a shake for only 8 bucks I believe. It wasn't expensive at all. The place is cleanish if that makes sense. It's a gym so it's hard to fully clean the gym. The lockerroom and bathroom was very clean. I felt really safe at the gym and comfortable. It was really nice to have an atmosphere like that while you are working out. All equipment was very well kept up in maintenance and didn't feel old and run down like some gyms are. I was really happy about that. Overall, I give them a 4.4 out of 5 because there isn't really any accessories in the gym like hot tube etc but highly recommend them to have a good workout.

The not so good; this place is really filthy. Bales of dust & hair are everywhere underneath dumbell racks, around the bases of machines and on the bottom of lockers. Kind of gross. Each day around 3 the sun hits the nearby bank skylights and sends a retina-searing, lincoln arc welder-like white light into the space. Really difficult to see with the blinding solar glare - but what you do see is every spec of dust/hair/detrius on the floor, on machines, etc.. I realize he light thing is not their fault but maybe get some glare screens for the windows? Lastly, it's cramped - tons of machines but not a lot of space around them to work out comfortably, you are really on top of each other. The gym has great potential though & I hope that they improve!

The light blue pole building is as unassuming as most Crossfit boxes are. What makes this place special are the people who enter its doors. Owners Nick and Ursula both welcomed me, a travelling stranger, as warmly as all their local athletes. Both have a heart for Crossfit - both in the mechanics of doing tough workouts well and in building the sense of community that can really set this style of fitness apart from almost all others. Crossfit is tough. Sometimes very tough. To quote Crossfit Manayunk's video (search it on youtube): "sometimes you will give 110% and it just won't be enough". I have no doubt that at this box the trainers would be right there with you. Nobody is left to flounder here. I've never had a bad visit to a box but I can honestly say that my exploration of Crossfit Acadia was one of the best. The physical establishment is appealing (how do they fit so many Concept 2 rowers in that small space?), the coaches skilled and the customer/athletes friendly and welcoming. Humans of any fitness level can benefit from Crossfit and if you are fortunate enough to live within driving distance of this affiliate - I highly recommend you consider stopping by.
