This place is so darling. The outside doesn't look inviting but when you get into the bar everyone…read moreis so friendly. Three of us had fish fries. I opted for the poor man's lobster with the seasoned wedges. Friends got the fried perch with homemade fries. The wedges were much better than the fries. The fries were good but not as crisp as I would have liked. We sat at the bar and Mary the bartender was so friendly. Drinks were a good pour and they made a hell of an old fashioned. The pricing was so inexpensive. With a couple rounds of drinks plus food it was only 85 bucks. So not only is this place great for you stomach it's also light on your wallet

Ok, listen. This…read moreplace is amazing. It's also 100% divey. Both can be true. Saw the reviews of this spot when we were staying at a cabin in nearby Mountain, WI. We drove up (with my parents in two, no less) and thought--uhh...they have food? And, according to Yelpers (thanks Lori!), good food? Indeed. We walked in, grabbed a table, and a server immediately popped over with menus. The menu is brimming with all the pub grub classics so there was something for everyone in our party of five. I got their fish fry, which was outta this world. Huge pieces of fish, tartar, coleslaw, choice of potato and rye bread. It was the sort of meal where the entire table goes quiet as everyone is in their own world of deliciousness. When we were finished, our server asked if we'd be interested in dessert. The dinner portions were so ample, we were leaning toward no until she offered to bring over the candy basket. Candy basket? Some places have a dessert tray Grudgeville Pub & Grub has a candy basket. Yes, please. I rarely, if ever, purchase candy bars so sifting through their selections was a real treat. I got a Kit Kat duo (mint + dark chocolate kit kat bar = who knew? Not me!). It was a fun little treat to top off an otherwise exemplary meal. Don't let the out of season Christmas lights, ancient linoleum, mismatched vinyl chairs fool you--this place is serving up legit eats. Get to it!

Haven't been here for a while and today's meal just confirmed why I need to be a regular. Hands…read moredown the best food, beer and service in the Wausau area by far! We got the shrimp skewers and citrus mussels with the curry sauce to die for! We kept slurping up the sauce after the bread was gone! The garlic mayo complemented the shrimp perfectly. We also ordered the forager pizza. With the crispy crust, sweet fennel sausage and the mushrooms - I am in pizza heaven! Hubby ordered a few summer beer and I had the pineapple cider. Both were light and refreshing. Our server provided great recommendations and checked on us frequently throughout our meal. Overall verdict - highly recommend it for causal dining, happy hour or a special meal. Way to support local farms and businesses. Love the outdoor seating which is great in the summer!

Gave us considerable attention and respect. Five service. We sat outside on a beautiful patio nicely decorated with beautiful flowers. Decided to split cranberry walnut salad and it was delicious. Fresh greens with blue cheese and vegs accompanied with a vinaigrette dressings. Perfect size to spilt. Followed with the Margarita pizza with added pepperoni. Wood fire grilled to perfection. Crust was fantastic. Overall taste was top shelf.

We found this place by chance and so walked in without reservations. They initially turned us away…read morebut with further discussion and a few cocktails at the bar eventually made room to accommodate us. As with many cases this season they were very short staffed and trying to offer good service to those that had made reservations. Our server had several tables including one of 16 people. I can't believe how good the service ended up being with Karen our waitress. As a seasoned vet in this Industry she was on top of everything. Additionally the food was Breyer than I had hoped for. We all started with the salad bar which was clean and organized. They did end up running out of ranch dressing which was a disappointment but that was the only thing that fell short the entire evening. After the salads the four of us has the French onion soup which was better than most I've had. This was followed by our main course. Two of us has the 10 oz. Fillets, on had the 16oz ribeye and lastly one liver and onions. All the steaks were fabulous and the liver was also good from what I hear. There was no rushing, Karen our server timed out servings perfectly and the evening turned out spectacular. A big kudos to the Manager for getting us in. This will be a part of our rotation moving forward. Don't forget to make reservations!

We've been coming here for 14 years, but after our latest visit, we won't be back. A few years ago,…read morethe restaurant changed ownership. They remodeled the interior, and while some may like the update, we miss the old-school supper club atmosphere. The menu has also been cut down and is now pretty bare bones. The service was slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy. We waited over 30 minutes for our food, and they forgot our appetizer. The prices have increased, but the quality and value have definitely gone in the opposite direction. I always ordered the Pub Special and could never finish it because the portions were so generous. This time, the portion was noticeably smaller, the bun was soggy, the sandwich had no flavor, and the au jus was only lukewarm. To make matters worse, fries are now an extra charge. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. A place that was once one of our favorites has lost the atmosphere, quality, and value that kept us coming back for so many years. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
