What do you expect when you come across a highway roadside shack, offering food..? Are you intrigued? How hungry are you? " Stop, there's cars in the parking lot! let's try it!" Yes, yes. This divey tavern/ restaurant/meeting hall is well worth the stop and a few miles out of the way, if you're in the area. Beth, the owner and chef makes a mean, meean burger and a bevy of other grill items. She offers a broasted chicken platter that rivals any that I've seen and tasted. There's a lot of love put in every dish. If you find yourself in this remote part of Northeastern Wisconsin, stop in and say hi. Grab a brew. EAT THE GRUDGEVILLE BURGER! And, most importantly, ask about Mitzty!

Decided to try someplace new on our way uppa nort'. We weren't disappointed. This is a straight up dive bar with great staff and some great food. Started off with some half naked cheese curfs from trivers. Mmmmm yummy. For dinner my wife had the two piece haddock with a twice baked potato and Cole slaw. Great breading on the fish and cooked perfectly. I had a 1/3lb Grudge burger. Delicious with a nice layer of grease running down my arm. Definately adding this to our list of joints to hit when we head up.

My daughter and I stopped for burgers while on vacation. They had amazing bacon cheese burgers in both 1/3 pound and 1/2 pound sizes and multiple choices of cheese. I enjoyed three pints of beer on tap. The first was Grainbelt Nordeast Amber, then I had Finnegan's Amber and finally Stone Arch Vanishing Vanilla Stout. All three brews were outstanding but the stone arch was my favorite. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and shared stories about the local history and the origins of the pub. Great place great atmosphere great food!

Beth is fantastic. Really friendly and amazing burgers. Great place to stop. Just don't let the grunginess scare you away.

We got the shrimp skewers and citrus mussels with the curry sauce to die for! We kept slurping up the sauce after the bread was gone! The garlic mayo complemented the shrimp perfectly. We also ordered the forager pizza. With the crispy crust, sweet fennel sausage and the mushrooms - I am in pizza heaven! Hubby ordered a few summer beer and I had the pineapple cider. Both were light and refreshing. Our server provided great recommendations and checked on us frequently throughout our meal. Overall verdict - highly recommend it for causal dining, happy hour or a special meal. Way to support local farms and businesses. Love the outdoor seating which is great in the summer!

Crust was fantastic. Overall taste was top shelf.

They didn't do the extra extra sauce and because they have no inside service I couldn't walk up and get more. When it came time to pay, it was $18.53 for a burger side and a small drink. It looked really nice, inviting, warm. No more. I arrived, parked my car, walked to door and noted sign "drive through only." I then returned to and maneuvered car in what I thought was order line. A few minutes later an employee came to my car window, told me to drive to other side of building, where I placed my order. While waiting, I could see flames a couple feet high intermittently from the grill. So, flame grilled burger. I had driven over 100 miles from UP (Upper Peninsula) Michigan ski hill where multiple lift towers had "Chip's Hamburgers" decals high on chairlift towers. I ended up using bathroom at a gas station and, wanting to be out of car after two hours driving, eating on hood of car. As to the food, the burger was good, not great. I had a double cheeseburger. Tastes a little flame burned. One really nice point is the man handing me my order noticed my two dogs and gave me a couple dogs biscuits. I don't think I will return to this location.

The way it filled up during our visit, it seemed to be a restaurant favored by the locals. While the decor is dated and the service was ho-hum, the menu offered enough variety for most anyone to find something to eat. I ordered the fried chicken and my partner had the burrito special. I started my meal with a salad from the salad bar. While it offered only a modest number of items, everything was fresh. I preferred the small salad bar to none at all. My chicken arrived steaming hot. It was moist and tasty. My mashed potatoes came with the gravy on the side as I ordered. Overall, I found it satisfied my hunger. My dining partner had the chicken burrito (which was recommended by the waitress). While hot and filling, my dining partner called it "alright" and lamented not ordering the chicken. Overall, the community suffers from too many fast food places and not enough local restaurants. If I visited again, I'd certainly opt for this restaurant versus any of the fast food joints.
