This place is so darling. The outside doesn't look inviting but when you get into the bar everyone is so friendly. Three of us had fish fries. I opted for the poor man's lobster with the seasoned wedges. Friends got the fried perch with homemade fries. The wedges were much better than the fries. The fries were good but not as crisp as I would have liked. We sat at the bar and Mary the bartender was so friendly. Drinks were a good pour and they made a hell of an old fashioned. Ok, listen. This place is amazing. It's also 100% divey. Both can be true. Saw the reviews of this spot when we were staying at a cabin in nearby Mountain, WI. We drove up (with my parents in two, no less) and thought--uhh...they have food? And, according to Yelpers (thanks Lori!), good food? Indeed. We walked in, grabbed a table, and a server immediately popped over with menus. The menu is brimming with all the pub grub classics so there was something for everyone in our party of five. I got their fish fry, which was outta this world. Huge pieces of fish, tartar, coleslaw, choice of potato and rye bread. It was the sort of meal where the entire table goes quiet as everyone is in their own world of deliciousness. When we were finished, our server asked if we'd be interested in dessert. The dinner portions were so ample, we were leaning toward no until she offered to bring over the candy basket. Candy basket? Some places have a dessert tray Grudgeville Pub & Grub has a candy basket. Yes, please. I rarely, if ever, purchase candy bars so sifting through their selections was a real treat. I got a Kit Kat duo (mint + dark chocolate kit kat bar = who knew? Not me!). It was a fun little treat to top off an otherwise exemplary meal. First of all: Great Home Made Food. The best you will find in the area. Second: great HONEST bar tenders. Third: the clientele is the best. I come up here not so much for the beauty of the North Woods but for this place. This divey tavern/ restaurant/meeting hall is well worth the stop and a few miles out of the way, if you're in the area. Beth, the owner and chef makes a mean, meean burger and a bevy of other grill items. She offers a broasted chicken platter that rivals any that I've seen and tasted. There's a lot of love put in every dish. If you find yourself in this remote part of Northeastern Wisconsin, stop in and say hi. Grab a brew. EAT THE GRUDGEVILLE BURGER! Decided to try someplace new on our way uppa nort'. We weren't disappointed. This is a straight up dive bar with great staff and some great food. Started off with some half naked cheese curfs from trivers. Mmmmm yummy. For dinner my wife had the two piece haddock with a twice baked potato and Cole slaw. Great breading on the fish and cooked perfectly. I had a 1/3lb Grudge burger. Delicious with a nice layer of grease running down my arm. Definately adding this to our list of joints to hit when we head up. read more

My daughter and I stopped for burgers while on vacation. They had amazing bacon cheese burgers in both 1/3 pound and 1/2 pound sizes and multiple choices of cheese. I enjoyed three pints of beer on tap. The first was Grainbelt Nordeast Amber, then I had Finnegan's Amber and finally Stone Arch Vanishing Vanilla Stout. All three brews were outstanding but the stone arch was my favorite. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and shared stories about the local history and the origins of the pub. Amazing family owned business! Winners of the BEST BURGER of the NORTHWOODS. The food is top notch - with daily/weekly specials and a great dessert tray for the sweet tooth (candy bars lol)! Pretty good food. I live in the area and never stopped here so I decided I would drop in and try a burger and fries with my grandmother. It was okay, but not the best burger. Fries were great though. And my grandma LOVED her burger, and wants to go back. I'd try it again, just maybe not a burger next time. read more

This is your typical northwoods tavern with food. Keeping that in mind this place was a great stop for a cheeseburger & hot wings. Beer is cold and Mitsy the bartender was so fun. Had the Famous Grudgeville Burger and it did not disappoint. Also, one of the only places we found in the area with free wifi and a 4G cell signal. read more

lol I love this place! Having the Exterior recently updated looks nice. Above average food, based on at least a dozen orders. On one occasion 6-7 years ago I was enjoying a beer and noticed they no longer had a pool table. The "feisty" 80 year old bartender said with a straight face yah that someone had broken in and stolen it. I said No Kidding!?
