It was the perfect place for Wausau's 2020 Martin Luther King Day event. The main hall provided ample room for the the program which included a band, an awards presentation and the featured speaker. I'm sure that the hall is a suitable venue for concerts and other events as well. The buffet line for the catered meal was in the corridor outside of the main hall which was not ideal (though probably necessary) -- it was quite crowded when everyone was getting their food and the congestion was exacerbated with others coming and going from the main hall to the cafe etc.. The number of tables in the main hall was insufficient for the number of attendees. We, along with many others had to balance dinner plates on our laps and set our drinks on the floor while eating. I'm not sure whether the responsibility for this falls on the event planners or the hall management but it was a definite negative for me. A few other things -- positive and negative. There is a nice display of artwork from local artists displayed on the walls. Even while the MLK event was going on there at least one other small group conducting a meeting in another area of the building. Parking was limited and the cars were parked rather haphazardly (and the ice and snow of January certainly doesn't make parking easy either). We needed to park across the street -- fortunately the county offices located there are closed in the evening.

I'd recommend the owners entertain their friends outside of the room (and perhaps the sound tech turn down the bass).

Don't even waste your time going here when "DANO" is bartending. He is slow slow slow!!! This is a neighborhood type bar and "ONLY" cater to regulars...He will only wait on the regulars otherwise you will be waiting 10+ minutes to get served. If you take your chances to go, call ahead and ask if he is working.. The rest of the crew are very friendly... The owner of the bar Randy Scobell. Is a A**hole, be careful with your vehicle in the parking lot it will get damaged. Owner is either to cheap to turn on the A/C or has the temp turned up so high, the few times that I have been in there it has been extremely too HOT. If the owner thinks that he is ONLY responsible for what goes on in the bar, and not his parking lot...He has no business running a bar, or any type of business..Take responsibility!!!..Furthermore..take responsibility for your ignorant/rude and bad attitude bartender!!! read more

This is my favorite bar in town!! They have the best cheese curds I've had since I moved to WI and go well with any drink ya order. They're not a big bar so if you have a big group, you may not want to stay long but they are totally worth a visit. They also have the best chicken strips too. They always have PBR and Spotted Cow on tap so it's my go to spot for happy hour, a drink after work, or Friday night drinkin. A Must go! read more

A genuinely underappreciated little dive bar. The appetizers are delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff has always been kind. I don't know what kind of wing sauces are still available, but if you can, ask for the wings hand-spun. They're excellent that way. read more

Sorry to say the atmosphere as changed within the last 6 months. I would suggest the owner to be more involved with the anxious behavior of the bar tenders. Unfortunately, I will be contributing to the weekend Packer party's at the different location this year. read more
