I had a nerve-wracking problem with my 66 Mustang -- the brakes failed. I requested a roll-on truck, and AAA sent me Black Horse. I've had very bad transport experiences with this car, but I knew right away the driver (Charlie) was gonna be OK when he used his hoodie to cushion the tow cable when he winched the car onto his truck. He was very careful about touching the car, asking my OK for opening the drivers' window and telling me step-by-step what he was doing. It was only 3-4 miles to my repair garage, and he was slow and careful getting the car on and off. If you have a car you are neurotic about (in a good way), I 'd recommend Black Horse Transportation LLC. read more

These guys are top-notch. I've dealt with them twice now in the last week, two different drivers, and they both were really great. Knowledgeable, very friendly and so QUICK! So I called them when my car broke down. The guy told me that the driver will call me very soon. Waited 25 minutes. No one called. I called back and no one picked up. Eventually had to tow using police tow which costed the 2.5x of what these guys quoted me. Be careful with these. And I got a call 12 hours after I requested. I would not say it was a very good response time. read more

It started off fairly well. John waited patiently while AAA tried to rip me off because "I used my roadside too often,"although I still had more free towing etc left to use". After AAA accept that they made zero sense and authorized the tow, I asked John to wait for me at the location,so I can show him where to put the vehicle. I HAD VALUABLES IN THE TRUNK AREA THAT I WANTED TO TRANSPORT FROM THE VEHICLE THAT WAS BEING TOWED TO ANOTHER CAR THAT I WAS FOLLOWING THE TOW TRUCK IN. I wanted to park on a specific side. He speed ahead, dropped the car off where HE wanted to, DROPPED my keys in the drop box!!! Then waited. I pulled in, expecting to see the car on the tow truck. When I inquired he told me that's where HE always leave the cars AND he already dropped the key. My items were in the trunk, paintings and tools I wanted to transfer. A box of clothes that was packed for donation. I WAS ANGRY!! For the first time I used profanity!!! Nothing I could do, talk about a LONG DAY!! Imagine, you are rendering a service! Why not listen to your customer? AAA owes me monies, so I stayed on the line to ENSURE that they cover what they are supposed to. He evidently stereotyped me and decided I HAVE NO SAY,NO VOICE IN THE MATTER because I didn't give him CASH!!! AND I LET THE INSURANCE DO WHAT I PAID MY POLICY EACH MONTH FOR THEM TO DO. Worst thing is that the AAA dispatcher was sending a new tow truck request and I told her that since Black horse was already where we were I would love for them to give the gig to him,so they went above and beyond to let him tow me. Matt came out with a flatbed & was unable to tow my car, but assured me a wheel lift would be able to in the morning. Matt was very professional & I appreciate that he tried to help me. The next morning, I get a call that the wheel lift could not tow my car. I called the main number to ask for an explanation of why two drivers said two different things, because I wanted to understand & figure out what my best option was to get my car to the shop. I spoke with Al, who was rude beyond belief. He cut me off & wouldn't let me finish my question, to the point that I had to ask if I could speak. When he finally allowed me to ask for an explanation so I could understand, his explanation was that he's "the boss, Matt knows some things but he doesn't know everything." He never actually explained the reasoning behind why the wheel lift couldn't tow it & he hung up on me. Completely unprofessional behavior. I guess when you're the boss, you can act however you want, but I will never use this company again. read more

My truck broke down on the way home form work. It was great to see Josh pull up to get me off the side of the road. Josh was so helpful! I was planning to be without a vehicle for a while, and rent a car. Josh suggested Advanced Automotive in Chantilly. He called them, and the technician checked out my truck while it was still on Josh's rollback. I was informed that they could do the repair. One hour later, I was driving out of the repair shop in my truck. Breaking down is not fun, but Josh from Black Horse made it much easier. He seemed only concerned with helping me, and did everything he could to meet my need and make sure I was satisfied. He even texted me later to make sure they took care of me at the repair shop. I am so happy with my service from Black Horse Transportation! I had a very tricky situation with where my car was stuck, and Eddy took the time to carefully figure out how to get my car out. I had talked to three other towing companies, none of them were very responsive or could get my car out. Eddy took the time to figure it out and he and Barry got the job done. Tow truck driver was on right time and was courteous and professional. The only reason I am not giving Black Horse Transportation a four or a five star rating is because they charge 10% transaction fee on credit card payments, which is high by any standard. This fee is not disclosed in advance, or on the final receipt, and although there is a section on the receipt where customers are given an option to pay by check, the driver said the company did not accept checks. read more

Black Horse Transport are extremely careful, respectful towers with top notch equipment, a wonderful attitude and reasonable prices. Blackhorse transport is amazing. I had my car brake down on 28 in Chantilly in the middle of rush hour. Called Blackhorse and Al answered with full confidence that he could help me in a timely fashion.
