    Attempt #4 of contacting them
    Christina K.

I went in to have a daith piercing as a walk in on Saturday morning on 2/17/24. They told me that they could do the piercing. Sadie, who is a piercing apprentice, did my piercing. She didn't mark the location or have me confirm the location of the piercing. Also, I was not notified or informed that Sadie was inexperienced and currently an apprentice. Otherwise, if I was informed of this, I would've opted for a more experienced piercer or have an experienced piercer supervise her. No one was supervising her during the entire procedure. She then proceeded to pierce without confirming location, the type of earring I wanted, or even telling me she was about to pierce me. Not only did the lack of informed consent occur, she also lost the needle and had to repierce my ear again, which was extremely uncomfortable. She then lost the ball for the barbell a couple times. She attempted to fasten the top ball and was really rough with my ear. Basically, she was not able to fasten the ball because she positioning of the earring was placed WAY too far back. I couldn't even see the positioning of the earring with a mirror because it was so off. A day later, while I was cleaning my earring with saline, the top ball fell off. I called the shop immediately on 2/18/24 because I couldn't put the ball back on because it was in such a weird position. Sadie picked up the phone and said that "these things just happen" and recommended I go to my nearest piercing shop at midnight. I live in Florida, so going back to their shop in Houston is not feasible. I went to another well known piercing shop Atomic Tattoo is the Tampa Bay Area. I had three different piercers look at the location, and they recommended that I remove the piercing because it was placed too far back and that the piercing would not heal correctly for any future rings or barbells. They ended up removing the piercing. They also said it didn't look like it was sanitary because there was a lot of bleeding and looked like it was getting infected. So I also had to have antibiotics prescribed to me as well. I informed the shop the very next day on 2/19/24 of what was going on, and I spoke to Skylar. They asked me to send pictures of the location of the piercing, which I did immediately, and that they would review it. I requested a refund due to the lack of supervision, lack of informed consent that someone who was an unsupervised apprentice did a procedure without my knowledge, and also because the piercing was placed very incorrectly. This is super upsetting for me because now I have to wait for this to heal. Scar tissue will likely develop, and I'm not sure if I will even be able to have a piercing on this ear for a daith again due to the wrong location and scar tissue from infection. The shop has been extremely unresponsive. I called the shop the next day after not hearing back in 2/20/24 and spoke to tattoo artist Dre. Dre was super nice and said he would speak to Skylar and the manager about the situation. I have not heard back since. I also texted Skylar about having no reply in 2/21/24 as well. Basically nonexistent customer service. I absolutely do not recommend this place , especially for speciality piercing. I was reading reviews from piercings before, and it looks like other people who have had a daith piercing also experienced similar issues with the positioning of the daith piercing being too far back, also had to remove the piercing and have it heal. Now I have to wait for it to heal, have it repierced if I even can, and go through another painful process again. I have an infected wound now as well. This has been the worst place I've ever gone for a piercing. The sad thing is, I was accompanied by my friends who also wanted to get piercings. After they watched me get my piercing, they opted out of having it done because the Sadie seemed inexperienced, was causing me a lot of pain, had poor technique, didn't pierce correctly, and also they mentioned the shop seemed dirty. Go somewhere else. I've attached proof of my communication and their poor communication. I have not received any compensation to fix the horrible situation and experience. 0 stars.

me after getting home from getting my septum

I went in on a Saturday night roughly 2 months ago to get my septum piercing and as soon as i walked in i felt super welcomed by the tattoo artist (might have been the manager) who happened to be in the front. That was until the piercer approached me. Now i'll admit i look younger than I am so she was right to be check my id but she wouldn't stop questioning me about my birthday and my drivers license and she was so rude about everything there. i was super uncomfortable but i had already committed to getting it that night so i just sucked it up and got it anyway. When we were back in her "studio" (a dirty back room (very janitors closet feel) with a few posters on the walls) she was still super rude about everything even while trying to describe what was about to happen. Though i felt that she was very rough while doing the piercing they gave me an amazing piercing that i do love and some quality jewelry and even a little bit of aftercare info but i just can't shake that feeling of being treated that way i wouldn't recommend if your the kind of person to be turned away by that type of environment and i definitely won't be going back for my next piercings.

Before: nightmare piercing - would never be able to change from this style

I had the best experience with Chris at Black List. I had just gotten my forward helix pierced at a different shop, out of town, when the ball on the horseshoe fell off. That place was a nightmare and she didn't even pierce it with a stud like I wanted. And the placement was terrible! Who pierced a forward helix with a horseshoe? I called Black List to see if they could reattach the ball for me. Chris helped me fix the piercing to be more of what I wanted. He was kind, patient, and gentle. And my ear looks incredible.

Immediately after removal. Piercer at 713 said irritation bumps were already forming 3 days in

I previously had nothing but kind words for the shop, but I had an experience that forced me to find a new piercer entirely. I had previously gotten a daith done by Brittany and had a wonderful experience. She really made me feel welcomed, listened to, and walked me through the entire process. I wanted to go back to her for my other daith, so I scheduled an appointment with her. Walk in for my appointment saying I'm there for an appointment with Brittany and once the forms are signed, Chris walks out, already gloved up. Later I found out Brittany had a family emergency and that's why she wasn't in the shop, but I didn't know this at the time. I was confused when he walked out, but I was prepared with all the questions I wanted to ask beforehand. We get into the room and the stuff is already laid out, but I didn't see the jewelry. I tried to advocate and ask questions about jewelry, the angle, talk about my previous experience and just ask why Brittany wasn't there- but before I really knew what had happened, he started counting down with the needle against my ear. I didn't even think to react, I just bit my tongue and it was over. I was frustrated to not have much of a chance to ask questions, but he already was putting in jewelry while talking to my dad (I'm a minor, so he had to come with.) I looked in the wall mirror and was surprised to only see one bead. Because of the angle a daith is at, I couldn't really see, so I was going to ask for a hand mirror before he quickly started ushering us to checkout. I was already disappointed with the experience, but the jewelry was already in my ear. Not much I could do. That's when at the checkout, I asked about jewelry size. He then told me he used a curved barbell. A daith is typically pierced with a ring for a lot of reasons- the main ones being for the healing angle, reducing movement in the piercing and reducing likelihood of irritation bumps. The curved barbell has nothing to keep it in place, so even without touching it, it kept rotating and moving constantly. I went to the internet for answers and quickly realized this wasn't something I could fix myself. Went to 713 tattoo in Houston and they told me the best chance I had at saving the piercing was to take it out and re pierce once it's healed. This was devastating. I had been waiting months for this piercing and now I have to wait even longer just to re pierce properly. When taking it out, the piercer informed me that the barbell was externally threaded. This basically means the threads are on the outside and will rub against the inside of the piercing during insertion and removal. I didn't take pictures of the barbell itself, but I'll add pictures of the angle compared to my older one. Takeaways: do not sign forms until you see the piercer you want. Ask questions and advocate for yourself more than you think is necessary. I was just trying to be polite and wait my turn, but that got me an expensive mistake (in time and money) instead. It is YOUR body and you should have complete knowledge and control over what's happening to it. Safe to say I will not be coming back. I hope that Brittany does well, but I have been continually disappointed by service here. It was excusable when I had a good piercing to make up for it, but now I'm out a piercing (which cost $40), $15 for removal at 713, and 2-4 months of healing before it can be redone.

I recently had my conch pierced here and I love it . I felt very welcomed and walked through the process. I love my piercing and now I'll see how well it heals up . I wanted an industrial at first and instead of them just letting me get one, I was informed my ear wouldn't fit the anatomy for it . They had an ear chart up ,which I also thought was helpful so I could determine my next choice of jewelry but overall friendliness, customer service, etc 10/10

I went to get my nose piercing for the first time and the guy asked me if the placement was good or if I wanted it to be somewhere else which I liked. The pricing was pretty I paid $20 for the regular nose piercing. They next day I went to get my first tattoo done and Dre was really nice and at first I was going to get it on my finger with red ink when he told me that it might end up looking crooked and end up fading after time so he let me think about the placement and ink color. I decided to get it on my forearm and he asked me if it was my first tattoo, which it was so he started to tell me that for my first tattoo I chose a good place to have it and that it was a good size tattoo. He was done tattooing me after what I believe is 3-5 minutes. The whole experience I got from both days was worth my money.
