My friend and I finally went to Dewey's. This is the bar I've been looking for. Chill vibes. "Dive bar" vibes. Like, where locals go to hang. And they have Trivia on the TV, sports, a jukebox but not loud DJ music. Like my neurodivergent friend liked it. Plus, I bet it's awesome in the summer with volleyball and such outside. It's really cool. The service was great. People were friendly. I haven't had the food. I think they don't serve food. But like I said, I've been here once. I plan to go againn. I love this establishment is my favorite for an evening drink, but I can't stand that the bartenders shirt didn't match his shorts. Side note he changed his shirt. 10/10 I would recommend this place. Been coming here for about 3 months and about 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday night noticed that I was overcharged on my credit card the only person that handled my card was someone named Penny I may have gotten the name wrong. came here after a long day at work with some friends yesterday. me and my friends were on our first round and my drink gets accidentally spilled. i approached the bartender with my problem and she wouldn't give me a refund and proceeded to cut me off. at this point i was super confused because i didn't even get halfway through my drink and i spent $15 on it. tried talking to the manager and he gave me a hard time as well. i really liked dewey's, and i understand if someone spills their drink they're considered "drunk" but this was completely uncalled for and the staff made me seem like i was crazy. sad to say but i will not be coming back. read more

Went on a Saturday night and I enjoyed it very much. Only complaint was the bar using plastic cups for mixed drinks and shots. I didn't get a chance to stay too long cause I went late, but the environment was friendly and it has a really cool patio. Can play volleyball, horse shoes, life sized jenga, and a juke box inside. Despite our recent experiences, this place has plenty to offer. Great outdoor area! Which is a relief because it helps you escape the atmosphere this one specific obnoxious female bartender creates. We like to come here to get away from the annoying young crowd but every once in a while we are unfortunately enough to be around this young female (brunette with tattoos) bartender who screams so god damn loud not giving a shit about anybody who is forced to be around her. Her presence alone forces us to stay outside or cut our time short visiting their establishment. You don't have to know anything about her, if you have ever been there you know exactly who I'm referring to. Im not one to complain about little things but when the staff itself is the problem in creating a cringeworthy atmosphere I'd say it's fair to put that bitch on blast. I like this place enough to come back but I'll definitely ask for her work schedule so I can avoid coming on days she works. Seriously you're a grown woman, get your emotions in check or handle your alcohol better. read more

i will never return to this establishment again. I really like the atmosphere of dewey's however the experience i had to endure had much of the opposite effect. when i arrived i had a decent experience with one pool table and karaoke and had a few reasonably priced beverages. after i lost a round of pool i bought a round of drinks for my friends, i looked at the daily specials and ordered three (3) of their daily specials advertised as the "$3.00 crown drinks" as three (3) shots. expecting to pay $9 for these drinks ($3x3). i gave the waitress my card and was returned a bill of $15.75, when i inquired about the price of my three "crown drinks" i was remanded in a hostile manner towards the owner of the establishment. when i approached the owner i asked how my three crown drinks which cost $3.00 a piece could have possibly costed $15.75. the owner replied with a callus response that specifically one other business in the area had also conned patrons with dubious advertising practices into the individual in question actually had the right to knowingly misinform customers to overpaying for drinks and that it was a legitimate business practice. this establishment is one of the most despicable and misleading restaurant / bars in the corpus christi area and i would strongly advise that you join me in taking your business elsewhere. read more
