Being positioned right between the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium this spot is the…read moreperfect place to grab a quick bite and drink after a tour. I went in not knowing what to think as there were so many mixed reviews, I went with my S/O and myself came out with a mixed review. Here it is. First entering Pier 99 it is a very typical feel for a coastal seafood joint, there are plenty of humorous signs along the walls and indoor and outdoor seating options. We were sat promptly as it was a Tuesday afternoon and not a prime time. After looking at the menu we decided we would stick with appetizers and drinks, we started off with the seafood queso and the strawberry Daquiri. Our queso came out promptly within 5 minutes, was very flavorful and was easily the best part of our dining experience. Our Daquiri however did not come for 15+ minutes and we had to ask our waitress a second time for them. She had brought them out promptly after making the second request however upon getting them and trying, they were nothing notable. They did not have much of a strawberry flavor to them and though it was very nice on a hot day to have a cold drink they did not carry what I had high hopes in for a Daquiri. For the rest of our order we decided to try the hot wings (buffalo tossed) and the Fried Calamari. Both came out promptly and were about what we were expecting based off of the reviews. The hot wings were very flavorful and had a good buffalo coating and paired nicely with the ranch provided, the texture however was not there. The wings were not nearly crispy enough and could have used a couple more minutes frying. The calamari was average as well, the lemon brought it up some however the marinara was in a little to go cup and was chunky and difficult to manage with some of the calamari. The texture was good on the batter however the squid itself had inconsistencies as some pieces were crispy and others chewy. At the end of the day if you wish to stop in for a snack and drink after a day of touring the area this is a good spot to do so, however for a meal I would prefer to go a little ways further for something I enjoy more.

Then we waited.. and waited...and waited some more......not even a glass of water after 20 minutes. We. Asked a server who was behind us if there was any server available. She claimed she would check. 10 minutes later... NOTHING...NADA....BUPKISS We walked and went sompe place else. We highly recommend you do the same.

For a long time, it was frustrating to travel to other cities, visit bars and live music venues…read morewith real personality, and then come back to Corpus feeling like we didn't have anything similar. House of Rock changed that when it opened. It's been fun to watch it grow from a small local music venue into one of the biggest parts of Corpus Christi's live music scene. Over the years they've expanded beyond just the bar and venue, and the food has become part of the draw as well. I've been to several shows here and they've always been a good experience. The sound is solid, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere feels like a real music venue instead of just another bar. Even on nights when you're not there for a concert, it's a great place to grab a drink, hang out, and listen to good rock music on the jukebox. I've only had the pizza a few times, but it's been excellent every time. The crust tastes fresh and doesn't have that frozen, premade dough texture that so many places serve. I love this place. Corpus is better because it's here, and I hope it continues to be part of the city's music scene for many years to come.

Music was fun and the bar staff were nice, they started with only 2 bartenders so there was a backlog for a bit but they added another and it helped get things moving. Bathrooms were super clean on the women's side which is rare and so nice to see. Over all a great night here

She was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often despite how busy the restaurant was getting. The drinks were delicious (Thanks Ashley!) ! I highly recommend the Blue Hawaiian and the Watermelon Crush. For appetizers, we ordered the Shrimp Diablo (jalapeño poppers), shrimp cocktail, chips, and guacamole ... Everything tasted fresh and flavorful with zero complaints. (Re: the previous tortilla chip complaints; the chips had a great crunch and held up well with the fresh homemade guacamole.) For our entree, we shared the Molcajete Parrillada with fajita beef, chicken, shrimp, and sausage. Every protein was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Even the chicken, which is often overlooked at many restaurants, was moist, tender, and full of flavor. If you're scrolling through old reviews, don't let them discourage you from trying this place. Based on our visit, they seem to have made improvements. Maybe new management? The restaurant has a nice beachfront dining if you arrive early enough during holidays . Cute spot, it has a up and downstairs depends on your vibe preference. One helpful tip: there is clear signage regarding the paid parking. The parking fees are separate and are not associated with the restaurant, so be sure to read the signs before parking. We'll definitely be back!
