Crane Creek Cabins - Soooooo bad. Not at all what is being described.

It's clean and that's about the best thing I can say. The photos and information provided for these…read morecabins is incredibly deceiving. The cabins are small, very small. The sleep capacity of the cabins while yes, pull out sofas allow 2 more people to sleep... it's just waaaaay too crowded for the amount of people the description says the cabins can hold. One cabin in particular only has bunk beds. Additionally, I hope you don't mind having to use the toilet sideways with your feet in the shower. Another point worth mentioning is the bridge you have to cross to get to the property. The bridge is on the verge of falling into the creek below. Not to mention the fact that getting over said bridge with a truck and trailer is what nightmares are made of. The bottom of our trailer drug the entire way across and with no where turn around after we crossed the one lane bridge from the main road that is currently under construction (which the owner failed to mention to us), we had no choice but to continue across the bridge and hope our trailer was not completely destroyed in the process! Lastly, as far as views go. Oh my. There's a run down and abandoned trailer directly across from the property. This trailer had frequent traffic. This traffic consisted of several vehicles where the party would park, exit the vehicle wall around the property once and promptly get back in their vehicle and leave. And it was never the same vehicle. And it was at all hours of the day and night. While the property has 24 hour surveillance, the owners should probably aim the cameras at the trailer and what could only be described as drug trafficking occurring a mere 15 feet away from the cabins. The views of the hillside from the front porch of the cabins are incredibly unsightly. For the price you are paying to stay here, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. We've paid the same price for much, much more luxurious accommodations. Book at your own risk.

We found it through air bnb but wanted to put in a yelp review because we liked it so much. We like to find new towns/areas to experience on the way to the beach and really enjoyed this spot. I guess (according to the welcome binder in the cabin) the couple who own the place, the husband had a buddy from childhood who was a state trooper buddy and died while on the job. The whole cabin was decorated in his honor with his pictures, favorite things such as sports teams, etc. They built a second cabin in honor of another fallen trooper. Thought it was a really cool way to honor those who have served our country and I loved "getting to know" this young trooper through the things in the cabin and learning his story. The cabin was really nice and modern (for a cabin) on the inside and very clean. There's a fire pit and seating out front, also a picnic bench. Great view from the porch. Very peaceful surroundings. We went to the Painted Peak Brewery and the locals were very friendly. We obviously stuck out because everyone seemed to know everyone, but they were very welcoming. The brewery had karaoke and there were a lot of really good singers! Small mountain town but quaint with a handful of restaurants with decent hours (didn't close too early). Everyone we met in the town of Tazewell was so friendly, including the lady watering the courthouse porch flowers. There's a state park nearby, Hungry Mother. Highly recommend this place! We will be back!

But once we got there, it was beautiful! The lake was stunning. We stayed 2 nights - Thurs/Fri. I wished we could have stayed longer but it was booked. We mostly went out on the canoe and fished. My husband was obsessed with the fire pit. There weren't any spiders in the house so I was grateful lol. We were 20 minutes from civilization. You can get groceries from either Food Lion or Walmart. There aren't a lot of restaurants unfortunately. The closest cafe only had breakfast on the weekends so we had to venture further. I'm a luxury kinda gale. I love staying in a nice hotel. I understand this kinda place isn't a hotel, but if they're claiming luxury, they need to step it up some. I was expecting a little more Pottery Barn and less grandma's house. The place would have been perfection except for a couple things - needed better shower heads, towels, bath mats, bathroom rugs. The chair cushions on the balcony were dirty and they need to move the sofa closer to the tv in the living room. However the rest of the house was downright cute and cozy. Overall, I had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this place.

He is a liar and the rental home conditions are definitely the worst I've ever seen. This home should be condemned. A group of 7 of us rented the Miners Inn to ride the Hatfield & McCoy southern trail systems (Pocahontas/Pinnacle Creek/Indian Ridge). $795 for three days. Mr. Adam East (rental owner) claims the house is clean and comes with all the amenities one would need while staying at the Miners Inn. He states this in his description of the home and the amenities provided. This couldn't be farther from the truth. This place is a trash dump. The rental home conditions was horrendous and filthy, the worst rental I've ever seen. I rent rider homes like this one at least 6-8 times a year in the same area. This one takes the cake. I will let everyone know that I can the truth. It was obvious as soon as we opened the door the house was not cleaned in a long time. Dirt and grime from the floors to the ceiling. Rat/mice feces on the cooking stove, 1/2" of dust covered the ceiling fans, spiders, fleas, beetles, bees, etc we're crawling all over the household, couch, beds, floors, walls etc. Human feces smeared on the wall in one bathroom. Mold and mildew throughout the showers in the bathrooms and a musty, wet odor throughout the home. Needless to say we were blown away how anyone could flat out lie and obviously falsely advertise this rental home the way Mr. Adam East had done. I tried reaching out to Mr. Adam East and he declined to speak to me or refund our money. Mr. East will be hearing from our lawyer and the health department of West Virginia was notified. I dont usually write bad reviews but this was definitely warranted. Mr. Adam East and his Miners Inn operation is pure highway robbery at its finest. I have pictures as proff if anyone would be interested to see for themselves. Again just beware and rent from somewhere else.

Full kitchen with everything we needed for 5 guys to cook all the food we brought in. Large kitchen table for us all to eat. Large living room to to hang out and watch TV (although we didn't do this much since we were outside enjoying the weather and then too tired from riding so we went straight to bed for the next round of riding). Vey small issues were limited TV channels and wifi wasn't working. Again, no issue for us since we were riding almost all day. Easy check-out on Sunday. Great location for hitting many trail heads and a few restaurants near the area. This house is no our list to rent again for the next time we visit.
