The book was Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. You register for the class and pay online. It is an easy process. You pick up the book before the class. You have a few weeks to read the book and then show up to the book club, where you discuss the book while making a craft. I love this concept. This was my dream night/class, getting to read a book and then craft while discussing it. There were about 8 people there and the instructor. Everyone was so kind and excited to be there and talk about the book. The craft was tote bags. We took acrylic paint and painted a bunch of books on there. There were so many creative designs.  The space at Musejar is wonderful. There is a separate entry for art classes and the store. The store has some super cool craft products, as well as a large selection of fiber items, and decor. It is inviting and warm and always decorated with the season or holiday. The art space is open, bright and has everything you need to make your project successful.

What a hidden gem! I saw a sign for an Art Centre and naturally, I had to investigate! In an old…read morepumphouse, with a lighthouse on the property- you will find a quaint little art centre, gallery and studio space for classes. They are currently looking for a pottery instructor too! The gallery space was phenomenal, No pictures are allowed of the artwork, so my only photos are outside, but the space just is wonderful. The first room featured one artist- abstract paintings with vivid colors that really spoke to me and had me wanting to come home and paint! I have a huge canvas hanging in my bedroom that I spent 3 months creating, abstract- some of it was literally me finger painting, lol. But it felt the same as this body of work- playful, open to interpretation. I saw windows, faces, mindscapes. John said they had great texture and he said he easily could see my own work in a similar fashion. The second larger room doubled as a classroom/studio with plenty of storage and countertops, open flooring to set up tables for projects. I can only imagine they also use the yard outside for space- especially on a gorgeous day like when we were there. Situated right on the mouth of the Niagra River- there are stunning views with wonderful breezes off the water. All of the art is for sale, so support a wonderful artist! The selection for paint-a-pot was smaller than expected, but we were still able to find items to work on and had a good time. One thing that could definitely improve was the guidance and instructions provided. I noticed some groups received detailed explanations while others, including mine, received very little direction, and it didn't seem to relate to age or gender. Even so, it was a creative and enjoyable outing.

Walk ins were welcome and we were greeted kindly and explained the process right away. Quite a selection of pieces to choose from with a reasonable price range. They allowed each person to choose 6 colors of paint. My only complaint was the color choices were limited, you could only choose the paints with the black dots, but we made it work. They supplied everything one would need. We were there for so long we seen a shift change, lol! But both workers were so nice! Overall, the place was clean, they had enough tables and chairs for everyone, and they even hold parties or events. Our pieces look a little dull currently but we will be back in approx. 1-3 weeks for our finished, bright and glossy plates! We will definitely be returning and recommending this place!

We had the opportunity to take a class with Jennifer Hastings and her company, Create Flow. This…read moreparticular class was building an herb garden. First, we got to petsonalize and decorate our herb container. The one side was a chalkboard. We were supplied with chalk markers to complete this part of the project. We then filled the container with rocks on the bottom (for drainage) and potting soil. We then added the 3 herbs. They included basil, rosemary, and parsley. Lastly, we added whatever top garnishment you wanted in your pot. Jennifer was great with the instructions for this class and included information on how to care for our herbs at home. She was also super nice. This class was held at Briar Brothers Brewery, so we were able to enjoy a brew while there. Check out her website for a list of upcoming classes & locations. Stopped in here to browse on a rainy Sunday morning last weekend. It wasn't great weather to walk…read morearound browsing shops but after looking in the window at what an adorable shop this was, I had to stop in quickly. I ended up spending about 10 minutes browsing the amazing crafts, gifts, artwork, and more in this lovely establishment. The owner was even making some kind of commissioned piece at the counter when I went to pay which I thought was neat. For a gift shop on main street of EA, I expected the prices to be MUCH higher and was plesantly surprised by how reasonable they were. I ended up buying some homemade bath bombs for myself but plan to return soon to get some gifts for the holidays. This is the perfect place to stop to get gifts for everyone in your life! Lots of parking available on the street.
