I have been at this spot to buy some craft items before, but I also recently went to their monthly book club and craft night and it was outstanding. The book was Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. You register for the class and pay online. It is an easy process. You pick up the book before the class. You have a few weeks to read the book and then show up to the book club, where you discuss the book while making a craft. I love this concept. This was my dream night/class, getting to read a book and then craft while discussing it. There were about 8 people there and the instructor. Everyone was so kind and excited to be there and talk about the book. The craft was tote bags. We took acrylic paint and painted a bunch of books on there. There were so many creative designs.  The space at Musejar is wonderful. There is a separate entry for art classes and the store. The store has some super cool craft products, as well as a large selection of fiber items, and decor. It is inviting and warm and always decorated with the season or holiday. You immediately feel creative upon arrival. The decor is so varied and all the tools for your imagination are right there in-store. Yarn art, markers paradise, colored pencils, paper, you get the gist. Plus there is a pottery studio! I had the best class ever with Heidi. She's an amazing teacher and a great potter. The shop has areas designated as class spots with tables and chairs for group learning. There is a couch to hang out on and knit or just visit. It's warm and welcoming and many collaborative efforts happen via classes within the community. See their website for a calendar or listing of classes. Yesterday I took my first class at MUSEjar! I made the trek from Williamsville to East Aurora and I will say it was worth it. I took a yarn dyeing class which was taught by BluBird Studio. There aren't any places in the area that I know of that offer classes like this and I'm always been dying to try it. I really like the space that MUSEjar has to offer, it really inspires you to do all things crafty and artsy! They also have a little store in the front too. I'm always on the lookout to learn new techniques or learn new crafts. The class was well taught by the artist and she helped us along every step of the way and explained things thoroughly in case we wanted to try it at home too. Disclaimer: I am not artistic by no means. I love this shop! Affordable prices for art supplies, which I have purchased for my kids and artsy family members. The staff are super friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. I've done a couple of their art classes, including the Mom & Me ones. Like I mentioned, I'm not artsy, so it isn't necessarily my cup of tea, but I have enjoyed the new experiences. It's all about making memories with friends and family, right? At least that's what I have said when my project isn't as great as others. But honestly, I've been happy with all the crafts we have made at MUSEjar. My favorite part is that they support other local businesses by featuring pop-ups. There is a whole schedule featured on their site and social media of all the stands/businesses that are coming for the holiday season (FYI - not just art; everything from wreaths and candles to ice cream and loungewear). They had a few spaces set up for classes and the whole front of the shop had some art supplies and finished projects for sale. Everyone here is so nice. The decor is an amazing mix of rustic and modern. They have a great stock of very quality and high end art supplies without asking for an absurd amount of money. Can I live here? Please? Out of all the cute places I visited during my day trip to East Aurora, this one made me want to pack up and move in the most, southtown snow be dammed. This place doesnt have a huge selection of art supplies, but I think it has just enough. I felt inspired the moment I walked in, and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that you are not overwhelmed by a million choices. You can tell that the supplies that they do have are carefully chosen, and the creative displays just adds to the fun. MUSEjar is a super fun little art store with a good variety of materials that also does a wide variety of classes. I've been a few times for figure drawing which happens twice a month, once for a long single pose class and once for a multipose class. I prefer a long pose because I'm a bit of a slow drawer. I've also attended another class - a linocut print class and had a great time. The fees for the classes are reasonable and you get to take home whatever you've made. Various local artists teach the classes and it's a good time. The store is in the center of the main drag in East Aurora so it's nice to pair a class and lunch or dinner at a nearby local restaurant. read more

Came here last night with a friend for a crafting workshop, making Tomtes, which are Swedish gnomes that are said to be good luck guardians. The store is quaint, and stocked full of art supplies and crafting supplies. It's so colorful and bright that I could spend a good amount of time looking through everything, long enough to seriously consider a crafting hobby. The class was hosted by Tammi, and she was wonderful. We were a group of twelve, nestled in the back room. There was another group doing a different craft in the main store area. Tammi was wonderful and the class was hard but satisfying. I only poked myself with my needle about a dozen times so I considered it successful! I don't live in the area, but if I did I would be returning here pretty frequently. It's a beautiful store and I love the crafting class concept, being held in the store. read more

This place is amazing! The store itself has a lot of offer in terms of supplies and featured works. What I come here for are the classes! I have taken about 4 classes here now and each has been really fun! There are multiple forms of media to try and they have private classes as well. They even have wellness and yoga sessions they have added. You can purchase online guided classes as well if you are so inclined! I love that each instructor has her own flare, and I must say I have learned something new each time and left with a fun piece! read more

C & I came here to make necklaces one cold Friday night. We love East Aurora anyway, but this is yet another reason to love it! This shop is small, parking was not well defined, but we parked on the side of the building, next to the garage. The front of the space is a shop, which has some really cool things. I totally geek out over pens, so my eyes lit up when I saw the pen space! The workshop area is in the back, and was cool - well lit, spacious for maybe 8-10 people. Ashley taught us some really cool weaving techniques to make our necklaces. It was indeed meditative, as she explained it might be. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot! I'm not sure I could duplicate what I made on my own (LOL) but, the point is that it was enjoyable and lovely, and exactly what I needed on a cold Friday evening! read more

They cancelled our class last year March due to Covid. They are now telling me that it took me too long to let them know that I would like to use my credit, and they are keeping my $60. I'm sure they make lovely things but they won't even give me credit for a future class or even offer me a discount, because their books are closed for the year. As far as I'm concerned they are thieves. read more

If you're looking for something different than your typical "wine painting night", please look no further because this is far from those types of places. It's upbeat, with amazing workshops to choose from at reasonable prices. They have workshops that range from weaving, baking, alcohol ink painting, calligraphy for beginners and advanced, mom & me craft and activities, and honestly anything you could dream about. The classes are small so instructors can teach you a variety of ways to complete your piece(s), and you usually have time to make more than one. I just finished an alcohol ink painting class tonight with my mom and we both had a blast. A friend of mine hosted a birthday party here. I painted a gorgeous painting and the owner was right there giving you ideas on what to do. She wasn't to over bearing like other art studios I have been to. It was a relaxed and fun environment! There is also an art store attached too!! Which is great! I usually travel all the way to the McKinley Mall area for art supplies. I also bought a cute shirt that the owner designed!! Definitely will be back!! read more

The resurgence of Elm Street and addition of this boutique Art store makes me so proud to call myself a resident of East Aurora. MUSEJar has a renaissance vibe boasting vibrant colors over a rustic skeleton. MUSEJar is a walk through version of Pinterest. Art supplies and paintings are displayed in such a creative fashion, you immediately start thinking of ways you can incorporate these ideas in your own house.
