I initially ordered my drink online through their website. Upon arriving, I did notice that they were fairly busy so I waited a little bit. After 15 minutes, I went up to the counter to find out what was going on, and they had never received my online order. So, I just ordered it with the girl at the counter again. I patiently waited again and realized that 4 people who ordered after me got their orders. I realized that I probably wasn't going to get my drink, so got back in line at the counter and by the time I was actually helped again, it had been 21 minutes since I placed the order at the counter and I could not wait any longer, so I had to get a refund and leave without my coffee. So, I stood in this coffee shop for 35 minutes waiting for one coffee and never did receive it. They were busy, but not that busy. And, the employees all seemed to avoid making eye contact with anyone waiting at the counter or trying to get their attention- especially on the side, where you wait to pick up your order. So, I had to wait until there was nobody in line just to check in on the status of my coffee. I wanted some breakfast before we headed to the airport. But we didn't have a ride and didn't want to bother our family, so we ordered via Doordash. Coffee is pretty steep here. Coffee is a must for me, especially when I'm traveling back home to the PNW. I opted for Black Rock Coffee Bar as one of my fellow running friends had posted about them previously, so I figured they'd be a good option to try this trip. The outside is unassuming in a strip mall parking lot, however once inside you get the chill coffeehouse vibes. The service was a little slow, especially since there was no one in front of me, but I wasn't in a hurry so it wasn't an issue. I studied their menu and selected their seasonal coconut caramel cold brew. The cold foam was delicious with a hint of coconut and the cold brew had a nice subtle sweetness. I hope the manager/ owner sees things and wants more information. I love coming here but my last visit really bothered me. The disrespect that one of your staff members has is incredible. When my girlfriend was ordering through the drive through the girl who was working could not understand her and kept getting the order wrong. She told her she was going to pull to the window so she could hear her better. She responds with "No you have to order there" Not only was she rude when taking her order but I could hear her talking shit to her co workers about my girlfriend. The management team really needs to make sure their staff knows what is and what is not okay to do when working. Have some common decency and respect to your customers. read more

The coffee is great, unfortunately every time I've come through they have missed or switched my drink up. If I ask for hot it'll be iced or vice versa but I come from service industry so I usually don't mind taking it either way. Now, Ive ordered a hot coffee with cream and they forgot the cream, I drove back around and the young girl who took it back to add the cream was not very friendly considering the missed communication then started at me blankly when I asked for a stopper so it didn't spill in my car. Not typically one to leave reviews but I just felt off leaving the drive thru and thought I would share. Hopefully they turn a new leaf and become a bit friendlier. Ordered take out and I have to say upwards of $7-$8 for a breakfast sandwich is quite a lot of money. However their coffee is sweet and tasty. The sandwich was filling, but the bagel itself is tough and chewy. Not sure I will order food here again. I've gotten various drinks here and 95% of the time they taste great. The caramel blondie is really yummy. I also loved their peppermint specials they had and wonder if they would make them upon request other times of the year other than Christmas time! Black Rock has been on my list of places to visit for a while now and I am so glad I was finally able to stop in. I was only there for a blip, but they left a great impression on me. The service was so lovely. A very friendly and warm group of staff. I ordered an oat milk latte and, this is hard for me to say, I enjoyed it better than the lattes I get from that popular coffee place that rhymes with "all bucks". This looks like a great spot to stop by and do some laptop work. Which I am hoping to utilize sometime during the Summer. read more

I'm always happy when another coffee option is added to the list in Eugene! They had their grand opening today and things were very promising of how this place will serve the community! Although the line was very long, the baristas were getting drinks out so quickly and the line moved fast. They were all also very friendly and very knowledgeable of their menu even on a super busy opening day! I really, REALLY wanted to like you!! On 10/3 I came in and the coffee was amazing!!! Service was on point too. Now to this morning. Came in for a nosh and drink (inside) and sat there. And sat there. AND SAT THERE. 5 minutes passed. Not a single hello. No single acknowledgment of my presence. All 3, two gals and a dude, so HYPERFOCUSED on the screens in front of them, they cared less about their surroundings. They made eye contact once or twice, alas, nothing. Completely inexcusable. Your inside area was quite full too. Judging by the screens you were so incessantly fixated on, there were maybe 4-5 orders. Still does not excuse the fact that you can't even simply greet someone and say, "good morning, thanks for coming in, we will be right with you". Had you done that, I would have stayed and continued to be a customer. Going forward, there will be nothing but shit reviews and referring people to go elsewhere. Sorry, not sorry. read more

I don't know if they changed suppliers or just have baristas without proper training, but I have left 3 times in a row disappointed with my drink. I used to like visiting this place as a Friday treat in spite of the hefty price tag, but the quality seems to have gone downhill. The Fuels are inconsistent and overly sweet with too much syrup at times (even for an energy drink) and the iced and blended coffee drinks taste aggressively burnt. There prior rich espresso flavor has been replaced with that of a old coffee. To add insult to injury, the staff's demeanor can be a bit brusk at times. Given that this is hands down the most expensive coffee place in the area I would expect better. Cute branding though. read more

Our company received a gift card from a Vendor. I took some pretty detailed and complex orders to grab the coffee for our office. When I first walked in I was greeted immediately by a young woman making the drinks. Hi how are you? Then the young man taking orders stepped in I think his name was Jonas?? Anyways they made the drinks teased me cause I only ordered a water. LOL. When I delivered the drinks at work. I heard wow this was the best green tea! OMG this blondie is the best. Etc. The Manager and or Assistant had popped her head out of her little spot working drive through and smiled. People need to remember most of these individuals are college or high school kids. They are young, working tons of hours this summer to save for the school year when they have to drop hours for classes etc. Just be patient, be kind and give them a smile back. read more

The staff that work here truly are amazing. They're so personable without feeling like they're in your car right next to you lol. I have been waiting for this place to open. I like having more options available besides the other popular competitor down the street. I left my house an hour before my doctor apt today just in case there was a long line in the drive up, thankfully I showed up during a non peak time, and there was only one other car ahead of me. I am not much of a coffee fan, but I will drink tea's, or energy drinks once in a while. Today I was in the mood for an energy drink. They brand their own called fuel. They also make one that is all organic. I didn't try that one today, but will next time. I got strawberry coconut flavor. I would have to say they have the best in the market. Here is a back story on that for me. I used to frequent their competitor down the street back before they carried their own branding. They had flavored Red Bull. That was my jam. One day I show up, and they changed the game with their own. I till this day still think it is gross. So I will go to regular coffee stands just to get flavored Red Bull's. Now that I have tasted the fuel here, I will no longer have to search for coffee stands. I also had a lemon poppy seed muffin too that was really soft, and fresh. I should stay away just for those alone. The service was great, and fast. I can say I will definitely be a returning customer. 6/2/19 The last few times I have come in my fuel drinks have been really warm, which left me a bit disappointed considering I had to let my drink sit around to let the ice cool it off. I am guessing the fuel comes in a can. The cab was not refrigerated, they pour it over the ice, they pour the warm syrup on top which equals warm drink! The flavor of their fuel is great. I would love a cold one! Now if that would stay consistent I would be a happy customer. I may just be returning to Dutch Brother's, or my other coffee places that actually have Red Bull's. This establishment had lost my business as a consumer and as a driver for DoorDash! I have been to this Black Rock location numerous times and I have been to others as well, such as the one in Bend! The difference between the two is like night and day! The last time I was at this establishment, I attempted to voice my concern to the employees in a respectful manner there that their enacted policy of marking the orders ready, though the order is not, is deceitful and back handed! The orders are usually not started until the customer or driver arrives though they mark the order ready continuously! I was then refered to the owner, who just happened to be there at the time, who had a "matter of fact" attitude and did not understand that the way they conduct business is wrong because they are taking time away from their customers and drivers and recommended I don't pick up orders in that case, if I had a problem with it because thats the way they set up contracts with DoorDash! Compared to the location in Bend, this location is lousy at customer service and has lost my business as a consumer and a driver for DoorDash! read more

This week I met a business person who was considering advertising in a publication that I work with. I ordered a large non caffinated ice tea for me and a coffee for her. I told them that I wanted a small amount of ice in the tea. When I got my tea I took 3 or 4 sips and it was empty. The glass was completely full of ice. I brought it to their attention and they said that I had to pay for a refill. They were very unfriendly and disrespectful. I told them I would not come back in the future. Sub par drinks. I find if I don't repeat my order at window and ask if that's what I got then I usually don't get it. "Oh you wanted cream?" and staff stand there with iPad asking for tips upon payment, even after getting order wrong. ask for tip amount instead of having customer enter or offer. read more
