Toward the end of the massage, I was asked by Julia if I wanted an extra half hour. When I asked how much, she responded with "$118" - which I assumed to mean $118 for the 1 1/2 hours total (which made sense at $80 per hour for the least expensive swedish massage I thought I was getting, less a small discount of $2 for the extra half hour). However, I responded merely "no thank you." I got another 5 or 10 minutes, but was shocked to find out that I was being charged for an extra half hour that I did not get and that I was not being charged for the basic swedish massage, but for the considerably more expensive deep tissue massage at what I believe to be in the ballpark of $100 per hour. In the end, I ended up paying $130 when I expected to pay $80 - I could probably have held out for a greater discount, but did not want to ruin the relaxation vibe. Part of the problem could have been Julia's poor grasp of english, but this could have been partially avoided had the english speaking receptionist been present and asked me what I wanted when I entered the shop - instead, she was not present until I was paying and leaving. Too bad. Back to M&Y down the road.

It just sounded like a way of listening to the body. There was alot of focus on my upper body (shoulders, front and sides of neck and in between shoulder blades) which is where I stated I feel the most tension. I didn't receive a whole body massage. There was alot of what seemed like working on different pressure points throughout the body, I don't know if that's the way to word it but it definitely wasn't a massage like I have experienced with past therapists. Also, there was conversation the ENTIRE time. I couldn't be rude and not respond but a relaxing massage to me is one with no talking unless I am signaling pain or the therapist asks about the level of pressure.
