We used them today to box up our house. They quoted $1,200- $1,500 only to find they charged $4,100 just to pack. Somehow they charged an extra $1,000 for the time it took to get the truck to the house, the price of supplies was 5-7 times higher than full retail at Lowe's, and they added another $1,000 for additional fees. A friend of mine also used their service today and was quoted $650. He already had everything packed and they finished earlier than expected but they charged him over $1,000. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. I found another company that'll finish the move for 1/3 the price. They did do a good job packing, I think, but the estimate has nothing g to do with what they actually charge. Now that we've unpacked, I found that they did not do a good job packing. They placed live plants in boxes upside down. I asked them to be careful with my son's chess set, but they wrapped the pieces together causing damage to most of them. read more

The only good thing I can really say is that they moved us and it was done on the day that was promised. A move of about 20 miles. That's about where it ends. Worst move we have ever made, and we have made seven cross country moves, so this was not our first packing and moving experience. However. Minor damage, and one missing box, but of course I did not find that for several weeks. It was a box with electronics. Don't know how that happens when it was all done on the same day, but it did. How However our boxes were well marked with contents... The worst part was them asking for and stating how much they thought the tip should be for each one of the guys who thought that the move was a big joke or at least that's the way they acted. It was all fun and games and they made no bones about their conversation in front of us.I'm not gonna go into details. I had used black tie moving 2 times prior to my last move and had a good experience. However, this last time was horrific. They broke and damaged so much of my furniture including: completely demolishing my brand new desk, kitchen table, dresser, dresser mirror, broke a leg on my tv stand, and not only dented my fridge but they took the handles off, left them at my old house, told me they were going back to get them but never did and never came back. They did pay for damages but not enough to replace things they completely ruined. They crew was unprofessional. I hired them for a move last weekend and they never called to confirm my appointment. I had to call myself and when I did call to confirm my move the rep on the phone acted like I was being overzealous by reaching out. Not that it mattered, because the DAY of my move they called to tell me they wouldn't be able to make it in my FOUR HOUR window and they were running a few hours late. I had already reserved my apartments freight elevator for that time slot and couldn't move later that night. Mind you they said 1pm to 4pm and he said they could potentially be there at 6 or 7pm. Who wants to move at 7pm at night?? I had to move everything myself including a queen mattress and it took hours to move all of my belongings. Not to mention their prices are insanely high. The 3rd time was not the charm for me. This was my 3rd time using this service, the first two times were great with no complaints so why not use them again, not a good choice. I was told I would have a 3 man crew that would start at a specific time. Two guys showed up later than the time I was given. They guys did not have any urgency to get the move done. Their office also called 30 minutes before arrival to make sure everything was on schedule. Crew was very fast and really took the effort to protect everything. The movers themselves were good. On time, very efficient. The overall experience though was not positive. I was quoted for a 2,200 sq ft move (the actual size of the three bedroom house I moved from). On my own prior to the move, I decided to ensure I minimized costs as much as possible and filled an entire separate pod (16 foot container). The pod was already offsite by moving day so the moving team literally had nothing to load into that container. On moving day, toward the end of the move, the team informed me the truck was out of room. I had to pay for another truck to come at the price of $120/hour, on top of the four man team I was already paying for. Here's what gets me. I was quoted for a 2,200 sq foot move (actual house size). I alone packed a 16 foot container in advance. How in the world did they run out of room?! To me the answer is simple; they vastly underquoted and did not send a truck of appropriate size. I totally get that things happen. But those are unexpected things: weather, traffic, more square footage than stated, etc. But I do expect the quote, if my stated sq ft was accurate (which it was), to be at least within 20 percent range at the outer end. I was quoted $1,500 and ended up paying $2,180. That's 45 percent more than the quote! ($1,500 x 1.45) That's just bad estimation on the part of the company. They did waive the additional $99 fee for the second truck after I pushed but I still feel this was poorly handled by the company. I would have been ok with 25 percent overage, because things happen. But this was 45 percent more. That's freaking absurd. Way out of the range if reasonable. Also, what in the world would have happened if I hadn't have loaded an entire 16 foot pod in advance on my own? Also, I called two days prior to my move and specifically let the agent know that I would need all of my framed art packed/wrapped. Was told it would be no problem. I didn't notice until they unloaded that NONE of the pictures were wrapped. At all. They were just jammed into boxes, or not put in anything at all. read more

These guys are fast!! Terrance and another gentleman helped me out with my move today. I rented a Upack trailer, so I needed movers to transport my things from the terminal to my apartment. I appreciated that they let me know their ETA, were able to move everything into their truck in half an hour (1 bedroom apartment), and still made it to the final destination the same time I did! I needed to run to the bank and was pleasantly surprised that they were finished when I was on my way over. At the apartment, they were again so careful with my belongings, yet efficient and fast! I also noticed that they took the time to rewrap some furniture with their own materials, which was very thoughtful. I loved the entire experience. The two gentlemen kept the mood light and cracked jokes the entire time (even while it rained), which I appreciated because I was a stressball. Can't recommend them enough! Needed to move several heavy furniture (couch, washer/dryer, kitchen table and a few heavy storage containers) into an apartment which is unfortunately on the 3rd floor (no elevator.) The appointment setup was easy, they said they'd be there around 8-9a and they followed up the morning of letting us know they're ETA. They charge $99 an hour with a 2 hour min plus service fee and gas surcharge--all ended up being under $400 which is an amazing deal. The two men who helped move us were named Jorge and LaDon and they were outstanding! They were quick, helpful, and thorough in our move. They even uninstalled and reinstalled the washer and dryer and even informed me that I needed an outlet converter. 10/10 would request their service in the future. read more

I've moved over a dozen times and this has been the worst experience of them all. This company does a great job at marketing and manipulating people to give positive reviews. Unfortunately, their people do a horrendous job of moving. The 2br apartment that I vacated has taken me 5 hours to complete after the guys who moved me left the job unfinished. An entire closet, rugs, a laundry closet and a coat closet were left literally untouched! The excuse was that they didn't bring enough boxes. I had no idea they left this much behind. Movers were great but the price was significantly higher than I was originally quoted.

They did what they were supposed to do but they came in an unmarked truck that had no padding on the sides to protect our items. We moved around the corner and a few of our items were damaged. We opted out of the extra coverage because of the good reviews we had read. If you get their services make sure you get the extra insurance otherwise they only give you pennies on the dollar for your damaged items. read more

I recently moved from Birmingham to Memphis so this move was actually coordinated by the interstate division. The estimate I received was much higher than those of other companies, but I reconciled the difference thinking that I would get exceptional treatment. Wow, was I wrong! First of all, the lead mover was exceptional. He wrapped things carefully and took great care with my belongings Everything else, horrible. The truck was too small or there should have been two. I remarked TWICE before the move that I had a lot of stuff. The mover was by himself for the first four hours because of a mistake in scheduling. A second young man had to drive down from another city to help and they were still short a mover. Because of limited space and not enough manpower, it took 14 hours to pack a 3 bedroom house! The two movers had to play a giant game of Tetris all day to get my items to fit. I was so exhausted by the end of the day, I ended up giving furniture away to my neighbors! When I confronted 'corporate' after the move they tried to blame this on 'unforeseen circumstances' and offered to credit me a whopping 5% which ended up being around 3% because they had the audacity to claim that my load was heavier than estimated! One person I spoke with said, "What do you expect us to do?" If the customer has to answer that for you, then you are in the wrong business! This company has blown up obviously since my incident occurred. It was 2014 when this happened. My house was a complete mess I'll admit. The movers did not want to deal with packing it up. They could have simply walked away. However, they took it upon themselves to call the police and make false claims about me. They said I had a dope needle hanging out of my arm when they came in. The Colony police department came out and checked me for track marks! I have never used drugs in my life! This was bizarre. I'll never forget it. I just saw a Black Tie truck and went on the website and seen how they have expanded. Ok first of all, these guys really push (verbally) for a 5 star review on Yelp. They brought it up to me multiple times during my move. I had 3 guys that came to move a 1700 square foot home. They were late by almost an hour. It took them 8 hours to move and they couldn't even fit all of my furniture and boxes into the truck. I had to spend the rest of my weekend finishing moving. Again, this was a 3 bedroom 1700 sq ft home. The worst part is... I had recently bought my wife a new jewelry box. After the guys left, I noticed that the lid was on upside down (mirror facing out) and somewhat crooked. The movers broke the jewelry box. Then, attempted to fix it by putting the lid on wrong and didn't say anything to us about it. I wouldn't trust this company and definitely would not recommend them. Unless... you want movers who will show up late, milk the clock (you pay by the hour), and damage your things without informing you. read more

I was moving from Aubrey to Fort Worth, from a first floor apartment to a third floor apartment, and these guys did not complain at all moving my big couch up to the third floor. They were so positive and helpful. We were stuck in afternoon traffic so they took off 30 minutes from the time they were going to charge me. So the amount of time loading and unloading including the driving was only 3 hours! TERRIBLE. They showed up over 8 hours after they were scheduled and then took twice as long to do the move which meant they didn't finish moving me into my storage unit until midnight. I had very carefully labeled boxes that I needed access to while the goods were in storage and asked that they be up front - they paid no attention whatsoever. Made me pay by signing something on the phone - bill ended up being $850 as opposed to the $3-400 I had been told after carefully detailing the contents of my two bedroom apt. I called several times after the move to get a receipt and they never sent one. Worst part is that when I moved out of storage I found they had completely destroyed the bench to my antique piano, stolen my entire set of wedding china, and apparently rifled through some jewelry I had in a rubbermaid box - the individual containers were strewn about and the gold necklaces were missing (luckily I only had a few). read more
