This outing really was fun for the whole family. We went, recently, on a beautiful Sunday, and I expected it to be packed. It wasn't!! It's one of the few children's places I have been that is not overcrowded and overwhelming. The only line was for the pony rides, and that was a short wait. My preschool-age children really liked the train ride, carousel, playground and animals. Their 8 year old cousin enjoyed each activity too. We spent several hours there and did everything but the paddle boats and hayride. We also packed a picnic lunch, and there were tables in the shade. We will definitely go back again. read more

This park exceeded my expectations of what a park district facility can be! The grounds are beautiful with a historic aspect to them that was cool and interesting, but not overwhelming to where the kids thought it was boring!! They loved going in the school house where a very sweet young lady showed them all about school in that time period. The carousel and train were both a huge hit ( rode twice in a row for both lol) the paddle boats were fun as well but the shining star attraction was definitely the park! They ran wild for over an hour, and as we got in the car the youngest was asking to come back tomorrow! Thanks for a great first visit! read more

So so cute! I took my 2 and 5 year old to this place and it was the perfect size for them. The grounds are really pretty and very well maintained. I LOVE how your admission fee includes everything. So many places charge admission and then everything is extra. The playground is really cute and my son had a blast on the mini zip line. The train ride is nice and relaxing, and so is the wagon ride. I really like how there are different areas to play in. This makes it much more manageable when watching two kids on my own:) Staff was very nice, as well. I wish it was closer to me! read more

This was such a fun experience. I brought my six year old niece who absolutely loved it. I loved that everything was included in the entrance fee. I can't remember it was like $20 for me, my husband and my niece. She got to do a mini zip line, ride a money, take a train ride, do paddle boats, plus all the cool attractions, play ground, mini zoo, etc. it was a lot of fun. They also let you bring your own food in too. We had a nice little picnic. But they also have concessions with snacks and food. Can't beat the price. You get a lot for your money! read more

This place is so nice for children. Open between April - October, they have a carousel, pony rides, a little train, hayrides, petting zoo, and a play area with tricycles. There are also authentic pioneer era buildings, like a farmhouse and schoolhouse, so the educational component is there. So, it costs a bit to get in if you don't live in the area, but once you are in, all the "attractions" are free! We were here on a Sunday after a big event Saturday, so I think that helped to keep the number of people down. Two year olds are hard to entertain, but this place has plenty to do it. The merry-go-round is great, as are the pony rides, but you only go around two times in a circle and are done - at least the merry-go-round lasts a few minutes!! The train is a long ride- keep that in mind if you have squirmy toddlers to deal with - there isn't a ton for them to look at while on the train other than scenery. Once the kids are older, the playground with the zip line would be great! Food is pretty pricey for what it is, but if you go often, there is a collectible cup you can get that will get you $1 refills for the season. The paddle boats look fun too, but we skipped them this time because it was so hot and once you are out on the "lake" there is no shade! read more

Who knew that Aurora had so much to do for kiddos! Brought the kid here one day and I was so impressed with all the things they had to offer with the entrance price! I'm a non-resident so I paid around $10 (maybe $8?) and everything inside was included. They have a carousel, horseback riding, a train that goes around the little pond, a few pontoon boats, a tractor ride, a (new) giant playground structured like a treehouse, and a few animals! It was nice to have all these things available without having to pay for individual things. We're definitely coming back! read more

This Place is good for little kids to go to. There is more activites whne it is warmer outside and when it is that time of year. There is some stuff to do but there isn't as much to do there as you would think. When you walk or drive past there doesn't look there is much there, bcause there really isn't. The land it self is big but there just isn't that much to do. They have a railroad with a train and it shows a great view but that is on of the only good things there is to that place. read more

I just can't say enough wonderful things about this place. My 4 year old son loves it here ! He especially loves the blacksmith, he'll watch him for hours. And he enjoys the historical museum which looks like an old back in the Day city. There's paddleboats, train, hay rack ride, ponies to ride, carousel, amazing playground, animals, pottery maker, loom demonstration, old schoolhouse (with a teacher acting out how it was years ago) and pioneer house. The things to do are endless, and for $8! ( all rides included in admission price). It's so clean and well kept, grounds are beautiful. Lots of areas for picnics. I went here with my son's kindergarten class. I was very disappointed. A lot of the buildings were closed. The carriage museum consisted of a few buggies in a barn. The pony rides only had 2 ponys and were closed half the day so they could rest, (I am all for them resting, they should just get more ponys), so almost no one got to ride them. The hay ride took over an hour of waiting to ride. If you want to go to the old cabin, better to walk then to ride. The kids had fun playing on the large playset. But I could have taken them to a playground for free and had just as much fun. There wad a little town built inside a building which was kind of neat. It showed old fashioned shops, barber shop, hot store, bank etc. But not much to do besides look at it. I will say the kids did have fun, when they were not waiting in long lines for things. I just feel it is was disappointing for what you get for the cost. read more

Four stars for Family Fun night. We attended their last Family Fun night and we will definitely be back next summer for more. Seems like a hidden treasure as there were very few families in attendance. We pretty much had a private tractor and train ride! The grounds were open at 7 pm and a movie started at dark. I seldom write yelp reviews, but this place is excellent if you have younger children. I have 3 year-old twins and this place was fantastic! The price for admission might seem kinda steep at first, especially if you're not from the area, but the fact you can do everything in the park with no additional payment more than makes up for it. The park itself is big, but not too big. You can do everything in 3-4 hours and you wouldn't feel rushed at all. I went on a Saturday and while it definitely wasn't empty, the lines for the main attractions were always so short that my kids would never have to wait more than 1 turn to get on. My only negative would be that the concession food costs a bit much for the quality, but you can still feed a family of 4 for around $25-$30 so I can't complain too much. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

We were there tonight for the All Hallow's Eve and were very disappointed. Waited in a long line to get in. There was a mouse running around in the shop where we paid. There wasn't much to keep the kids entertained. We were done within an hour. Not worth the $4.50 for residents or the $7 for non-residents. Wish they would have had more things to do. I promised my 4 year old son a petting zoo and we got 2 goats and a pig. Not to mention that we couldn't touch them or feed them. His favorite part was the paddle boat and the train ride. There was a huge school group so when the employee told us that they would be gone by 1:30 we decided to have lunch, which we brought ourselves, while they left. We figured we would have plenty of time to enjoy things with less people around since their posted hours said they closed at 3:30. Much to our surprise there was an announcement at 1:55 saying the park was closing in 5 minutes. we had our daughters FIRST bday party here and will NEVER come here again! the staff lost my childrens most expensive gift and were SO RUDE about it! the frazzled/unorganized "manager" tried to claim it was "my responsibility" and slammed the office door in my face, then again in my boyfriends face. EVEN THOUGH we were told by the party organizer (kate) that they will absolutely hold the gifts for us until we have our reserved time on the pario and that they will ABSOLUTELY be safe. SUCH BULLSH*T. after an hour and a half of ME PERSONALLY running around the whole DAMN place looking for my kids' gift (two TABLETS- mind you- not cheap) that the staff lost (taking time away from me spending time with our guests and my daughters) the "manager" made an incident report with another manager, she started to act nervous and was all of a sudden sweet to me after i wanted the number of the director and corporate. completely ruined my daughters first birthday that they lost the gift AND made ME go to ALL the parties on the grounds to ask if they had it- no manager or staff member grabbed ahold of the situation to try to get this figured out- no one put my mind at ease. the overweight brown haired manager that was so rude only made it WAY worse with her careless and aggressive attitude. i dont remember her name. after the party was over i got a call from "rude manager" that they had given my childs gift to ANOTHER party!! of which had left wayyyyyy before we even realized the gift was gone! and that luckily they would bring it back, so i had to drive all the way back to pick it up TWO days later. When the supervisor called she tried to offer me 50% back what i paid this "party" was like $300! i said absolutely NOT, the ENTIRE experience was ruined by YOUR staff!! it was insulting that they didnt offer to refund the whole thing right away. the supervisor did refund in full after i told her how unacceptable that offer is. SMH this is what i have to remember from my daughters first birthday. F this place, whole heartedly. staff is illiterate and dont take responsibility for their own actions. their pizza sucks too. NEGATIVE 5 STARS, will never return and are warning all our friends and family of the same. read more

It was pouring rain during our originally scheduled time and they not only allowed us to reschedule but they got staff to come in with only 24 hour notice. They were very accommodating. Took my 2 year old and he loved it. We went on a Monday in the morning and it wasn't too busy. He loved the pony rides, train/tram ride, carousel, and playground. It was just spacious enough for toddlers to walk around but not too large that it was tiring. We paid $8 per non-resident adult and $7 for kids 2 and older. But the nice thing is that once you pay the admissions fee, all the rides inside are free. Overall a great place for kids. read more

What a great spot for a family to visit. Our almost 3 year old and his little cousin (2/12) had a great time. Clean, safe, fun, spacious, pretty engaging for their age and older .... Maybe up to 1st grade i would think, but it all depends on your child. Good family place. I think next time i will bring a picnic lunch. I dont know if there was a restaurant but plenty of picnic tables under shelters and shady grassy areas to sit on a blanket and enjoy lunch. read more
