An annual membership is an investment but a well-spent one. Our two girls love it and we have been going on a monthly basis and mostly sticking to weekdays when it's less crowded. The summer hours are shorter than the winter but each of our visits are a minimum of two hours. There are two levels of exhibits with a vast variety that is interactive and immersive. Some of the activities require critical thinking and problem solving. Whereas some activities cater to the curious and creative little minds. There is something for everyone. My two girls particularly enjoy the second floor where there are huge wooden blocks to build all sorts of structures, the Lego section, and climber. They have yet to discover the water and arts and craft sections so there is plenty more for them to explore on our next visit.

The museum is fun if you've never been here before. We decided to come today with daddy because he took the day off and since it is still chilly outside we figured we would come here today. Fridays they are open until 8pm. Grandma, Natalie, and I have been here one other time. Now that Natalie is eight years old, she had a lot of fun and made lots of friends for the day. She liked the wood working area. In my personal opinion, It is definitely not worth the price for what you get to do. Sure it is worth $17 for the kids admission but adults and seniors should be $10 max. it's very expensive $16 for seniors and $17 for everybody else. I know they have special pricing for people on government assistance programs which is nice. But to just sit around not doing anything was not worth it. I don't think I'll be back again. Glad we came one last time. I think this place is better for kids under 6.

My daughter who is 3 loves this place! She is still trying to figure out everything but it's great exposure for her and she's learning new things everytime we go there. The place is clean and organized, staff all around are making sure things go back to their original spots because we know how kids end up just moving things around the whole museum. I like how they had a coat room. It was easy to just leave that there instead of carrying coats around the museum. They have a cafe downstairs but I haven't tried the food yet, it seems like they got kid friendly items. The upstairs has more puzzles. Overall, it was a nice setup and the kids are enjoying themselves. I don't even think I hear any cries cuz the kids are just so busy with all the different items they interact with!!

First time visiting and my kids loved it!! So many things to do, perfect for ages 2 and 3.5. Everything was clean and it wasn't too crowded. Will definitely be back.

Hands on fun for hours! We stopped here today on a rainy Sunday and it filled our morning for about two hours. There's a zillion hands on activities for your child to jump to and from! The ball with the air and hovering in the air was a family favorite! Also, the electric unit that you used to make certain items move was super neat. A fun place and if you buy your tickets online you get a $2 discount! We did this. Highly recommend!!

Friendly staff, nice little cafe, wonderful exhibitions to help children grow their creativity and I personally loved seeing relative art works on the wall. Great place for family with kids to have fun!

Awesome place! My kid loves it here. There's plenty to do to develop fine and gross motor skills. Nice venue for a party.

Do you still need to wear a mask/ show proof of vaccination?

Not required, recommended. I did see a mix of people wearing masks 2 weeks ago.

How long would you think two four year olds would spend here?

I think planning for 2-3 hours is a great idea! There are so many things to explore, and it is very exciting and stimulating for little ones (4yrs old is a perfect age!). There is a nice cafe with healthy food options (reasonably priced)… Read more

    When is it least busy?

I noticed it got busy around the lunchtime hour 12-1230. We arrived around 11 and it wasn't crowded at all.

Some of the favorite exhibits for my little ones are the trains, the bubbles, and of course the water table.

Another Sunday with my sister in law in charge of how we spend our day. She is famous for finding…read morethese obscure museums and the like to check out. Of course, they are usually closed when we get there, but this time we lucked out. The Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum at Benedictine University is really quite impressive. It's not very large, but they have a considerable collection of specimens. Taxidermied and preserved animals ranging from glass coral to polar bear. Not only are the specimens very well preserved (they put the sad furballs at the Field Museum to shame), but since most of the collection isn't behind glass you can get a really good look at them. If I didn't have the respect for museums that a Montessori school instills in a child I would be able to share a picture of me kissing a lion with you, that's how close you can get to them. The museum is located on the 2nd floor of the Birck Hall of Science. When we arrived the lights were off and we assumed Sue had confused their hours, but apparently they turn the lights on when someone arrives! We found the entrance and the docent welcomed us and turned on the lights. There is an annex across the hall with a dozen or so more stuffed creatures to check out. Aside from their impressive and well displayed collection the next best thing about this place...it's free! Free parking and free admission.
