The coffee is good, but they falsely advertise pricing. They have been made aware multiple times and continue to do so. The price on their menu is not what they try to charge you. The menu clearly states $4.75 for a latte with two flavors, when you get to the window, they try to charge you $5.50. This is a violation of federal law under 16 CFR part 464. read more

I was in town visiting family. I had been to the main location several times. We decided to do the drive through here. It was a bit disappointing. So before we left, we looked up online what we wanted to order. The problem happened when we arrived and realized it was a much more condensed menu. Apparently the locals knew this when we talked about it, but just a suggestion is maybe mention that anywhere on the website for people who haven't been there before. The next issue happened when we started to order. On the coffee's they were out of skim milk. So we ordered with 2%. When we pulled to the window they told us the 2% was expired and all they had was whole milk. So we had to use that. They were also out of two of the pastries we ordered. We finally had a completed order of items they did have available, a cinnamon roll and two donuts with coffee. I had the cinnamon roll. I got a cinnamon roll that was the very corner and the part that was the corner was very hard. However, once I got away from that and more towards the center it was excellent and they smother it in icing. Exactly what you want in a cinnamon roll. I also got a vanilla iced donut. Very light icing and I didn't get the vanilla. The donut itself was wonderful. It was a cake donut but it was a light cake batter which was different but in every good way. It perfectly bridged the gap between what can sometimes be a heavy cake donut and the lighter sugar filled ones. Just the couple disappointments that came with this would probably have me not revisit this location, but you can be sure to find me at the original one when I am in town. read more

India defeats the purpose of it being able to see what they even have available and having to eat it in the car. We left and probably won't be going back anytime soon. Came here to grab some coffee while driving through Virginia and had a terrible experience. Employees are very rude. They don't allow you to come in, I tried to ask the guy working there something and he said he couldn't hear me so I asked if maybe he could open the door so he could hear me clearly, he rudely refused and told me if I wanted to ask him something it would have to be through the drive through window. Stumbled upon this place during my travels through Bristol. Compared to where I'm from, pricing and quality been good each time. I get standard glazed yeast donuts and they are so light and airy and the perfect amount of sweet. I've also been happy with the lemon bar, pecan bar, key lime pie, and others I'm forgetting. I love that I can do drive through but has homemade feel. The only thing I was not a fan of was the large almond cupcakes. The cake was dry, and the icing tasted VERY heavy of almond extract. My little kid who loves sweets especially cake and icing wouldn't even eat it. I will be back and I call to check hours everytime I'll be in the hour now to make sure I can stop by. read more

We walked over from our hotel to find it was drive thru only, not a big deal. They have a sign with all of the donuts they have, we got a maple iced donut, a Bavarian cream filled and a blueberry muffin. So delicious! read more

I purchased 6 $14 fundraiser cards from my granddaughters basketball team beause I felt sorry for her when my daughter told me nobody would buy them. I'm not a fan of the location downtown, but in this case each card gets me 1 dozen glazed doughnuts, which I love, and I can help out the team. Now I have learned why the team had such a difficult time selling them. You never know if you're going to get fresh, day old or even older doughnuts when you order. I have been to this location 3 times to redeem my cards. The first time the doughnuts were fresh and they were the best doughnuts I have ever had, even beating that famous chain, which says a lot coming from me. The second time the doughnuts were a day old and not good. The third time the doughnuts were older than a day old. I ate one and trashed the other 11. I'm not going to be redeeming my other cards. I also saw people walking over from the hotel next door to turn around and walk back after seeing the "drive thru only" sign on the door. I would not return for this reason because if I want to order something other than doughnuts, I want to see it before i order it. read more

We usually go to the main Blackbird location but there was a huge line today so we decided to try the drive-thru location on Commonwealth. They were completely out of cake donuts; not surprising what with Blackbird's popularity, but still disappointing. We ordered 2 chocolate mini cheesecakes but they were old and gummy when we ate them later today. First time I've ever had something stale or less than delicious. :( read more
