    Hawaiian poke bowl with jackfruit
    Nidhi P.

Wonderful restaurant. Our server Kate was very polite and made great recommendations for our vegetarian request. We ordered the jackfruit poke bowl and it was delicious. We also ordered burrata and that was equally amazing. Their veggie burger was also very nice. Kids grilled cheese was a disappointment though. It was Memorial Day weekend so obviously the place was crowded and service was a little slow but it was a great experience overall

Food came out very fast, entrees were delicious (fries could've been fresher) The Y viogner was delicious - atmosphere is beautiful (but loud- need fabric and plants). Bartenders were very helpful with the menu. Many selections and a great variety for all diets.

The food here was okay! Decently fresh when it came to the poke. I'm grateful I ordered the sauce on the side, as my company did not and it was a little much unagi and dressing on theirs. Overall the ingredients are fresh and the menu is probably one of the more imaginative on the island that I experienced. The owners of a once food truck now brick and mortar restaurant should be proud. We had reservations and ended up being seated in a reasonable amount of time. It was awkward to wait 1+ hours between sitting, appetizers, and finally our check. We sat at 6:30 and didn't leave until after 8 as their "last table" but the servers were very sweet. We were originally going to be seated closer to the kitchen but I requested the room facing the street which was away from several large groups/families with toddlers running the floors. They were out of nigiri and sushi but had plenty of everything else. Appetizers were fried well and the poke bowls we all ordered were fresh. Portions of the apps were quite small but then everything else was larger than expected. My partners tacos came out not so great. The breading was soaked through and very soft. 0% crispy. We aren't sure if it were from being cooked improperly (the fish itself was fine) or if the cilantro crema on it had soaked through while the rest of our entrees were being prepped. Overall we would be willing to try again maybe on a less busy night. They still seem to be figuring out service. Menu TLDR; Shark bites (decent, like very soft and fatty fish sticks), hot honey fried oysters were okay but not spiced enough, fish tacos (soft breading like it was not fried properly or left out too long... similar to microwaved fish sticks) had good ratio of meat to taco, tuna islander poke was probably the best thing we ordered with sauce on the side and was very fresh.

    Cute paintings

My friend and I stopped in for a quick lunch. The fish tacos were delicious! We beat the lunch rush so it started off as an empty restaurant. People filtered in and it ended up busy. Our waitress was attentive. The inside was pretty and clean. I loved the artwork on the walls

Delicious seafood dinners. I had clam strip basket and my daughter had the shrimp basket. Good size portions. Nice atmosphere with locals paintings on the walls. Very enjoyable.

We stopped here for breakfast before heading home. The staff was friendly and were attentive to our needs while we dined. I ordered the huevos rancheros, while it was fine, the presentation left me longing for something else. I would definitely give this place another shot but would order something different.

One of the best crab cakes I've had. Thank you to our server Janice who recommended them to me. Quite lunch Wednesday 10-22. Loved the honey ricotta appetizer too. I am sure they are busy during the summer. Keep up the good work! Also local artist painting displayed for purchase.

Nice place, good food. The expansion from food truck to sit-down eatery was a good one!

Chincoteague oysters are clean tasting, very briny, and super tender. I just had it with a generous squeeze of lemon and that's all I needed. I will dream of those oysters, seriously. The grilled flounder was fresh, but a little under seasoned. It would have been A+ if it had been generously salted before grilling (adding salt at the table just isn't the same). BTW, a flounder platter has three filets - so I'd recommend sharing. The sides were also generously portioned. (Onion rings will make you happy.) We had a great server, we were glad we visited during low season because I bet this place is PACKED when tourists are around.

Maybe we'd come back to try something else, but probably we'd just leave this joint for the locals and check out another place. What we got: Cream of crab soup - 4* the best thing of the night. It was delicious and I wish it came with a buttered piece of bread I could dip in it. Coconut shrimp basket - 3* the shrimp are very coconut-y and I realized I just didn't love that. It came with 6 pieces of shrimp, way too many fries (they were only mediocre), 2 delicious hush puppies (best I've ever had), and 1 pickle (nice crunch). The coleslaw side was also good and had apples. Overall though I was disappointed that $17 got me a pretty unsatisfying dish. Fish and chips (friend flounder) - 3* average but nothing to write home about. Once again a lot of fries (obviously, it's a fish and chips meal) but they just weren't that good. The fish was alright as well, malt vinegar and lemon didn't jazz it up as much as was expected. The pickle, coleslaw, and hush puppies were the best part of the meal.

There is a small lot behind the restaurant. It was easy and there was plenty of parking since it was the off season. I did not have a reservation but, I was seated as a party of one pretty quick. The tables were draped with white table cloths, a nice table side light, sweeteners, tall clear glasses with a black napkin and tall salt and pepper shakers. The walls were a darker and lighter gray, hues of black and whites scattered throughout. I was in love with the old photos and the black and white prints throughout. There was a stunning glass sculpture hanging from the center of the dining room. It maybe a Chihuly glass chandelier. If it is not it resembles it. Hues of amber, orange and whites. My waitress came over within a few minutes and took my drink order. She informed me of the specials and brought over some bread, butter and herbed oil. I just had to try the cream of crab. On the menu it states it's a tight lipped recipe. The cream of crab was delicious. They have done their own spin on it. It came out piping hot. It had a slight kick to it, as if there was some sort of pepper in it... jalapeño? Could just be regular ground pepper. Overall, it was pretty good. My meal came with a choice of salad. It was either a garden salad, Caesar salad or tropical salad. I ordered the garden salad with ranch dressing. The salad was ok. Nothing to rave about. It had shoestring carrots, two cherry tomatoes and 2-3 types of lettuce. It did the job. I had the waitress choose my main dish for me. I could not decide. It was between the stuffed shrimp (stuffed with crab imperial), or the crab cakes. I opted for the vegetable of the day which was green beans. My waitress surprised me with stuffed shrimp, broiled. I'm so glad she went with the broiled vs fried option. She said it was the best way to go. The crab imperial was creamy and flavorful. The shrimp were a little on the smaller side. I personally did noThe green beans were nicely seasoned. For dessert I had the waitress choose agin. A choice between their strawberry shortcake which was a special, white chocolate coconut cream pie, or the vanilla crème brûlée. She chose well, the coconut cream pie. It was so good! I saw other tables around me being delivered their food and everything looked really good. This place is definitely a popular eatery. They will remain on the list to come back.

Being in mid March, we were offered a table close to the bar (away from the windows), so we'd stay warmer --but we couldn't resist the lure of sitting on the high chairs and looking out at the boat traffic, sparse as it was. Fresh, savory, done just right. The waitress was helpful: proactive, attentive, but also gave space. The guy next to us was a regular who asked about my husband's entree as it took about an hour to come out. His oyster appetizer took about 30 minutes when asked for more crackers the bartender said okay I have a box right here,15 minutes later I asked a lady behind the bar for them as the bartender totally forgot. What really stood out to me was something very unusual and questionable that I saw behind the bar. The bartender took a completely empty vodka bottle and what appeared to be a full vodka bottle to the corner of the bar. He poured about 3/4 of the full bottle into the empty bottle, put the spout on, and then started pouring drinks. In Maryland, that would be a liquor board violation, and it definitely looked shady. I'm a lightweight, and after two crushes I usually feel relaxed. During this visit, I had five crushes over about 90 minutes and felt like I was drinking water. For a 150-pound female who doesn't drink much, that was extremely suspicious. It really made me feel like they water down their alcohol. Between the slow service, being ignored, and what I saw at the bar, I would not recommend this place for drinks. If you want good drinks, go somewhere else.
