I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with the seafood department…read more I purchased sea scallops directly from the counter, requested a specific quantity, and asked that they be packed on ice. I took them straight home and prepared them the same day. From the moment I opened the package, the scallops had an off, fishy odor that did not smell fresh. After cooking, the taste confirmed they were spoiled and completely inedible. Fresh scallops should smell clean and mildly briny. These did not. I ended up throwing away the scallops and the entire dish, which was frustrating and expensive. This was not a delivery issue or a handling issue on my end -- it was a quality control problem at the seafood counter. Unfortunately, this experience has completely eroded my trust in this store's seafood department, and I will not purchase seafood here again. I hope management takes a close look at sourcing, storage, and turnover, because selling spoiled seafood is unacceptable.
