The doctors here are amazing. Dr. Michaud and Dr Cless!!! Face to face staff was warm welcoming and efficient when visiting in person. Unfortunately billing insurance people not ideal. Condescending and did not identify themselves and insurance person when discussing health information. Just checking boxes and not helpful in working the problem. Def not an advocate for the patient. But everyone one else especially drs which really is all that matter are amazing. read more

17/10/2024 I NEVER to come back to this office. I felt like I finally had a person to to help me answer questions in office because the manages Lindsay, lacey, and haven have are offside, in meeting. Aleiy is not in the Blackhawk group, and no one else is able to answer my insurance question. This office without the last person to care is sad! I've been a patient of Dr. Roberts for 15 plus years. I have always had outstanding care. He listens and I am part of the team in managing my care. He knows the medical community and when I have been referred to specialists I have been happy with those connections. There seems to be different people in rotating through the front office but I have always had a good experience with call backs and any help I've needed. I would advise people to stay far away from here if you value your time whatsoever. My husband and I went here for his annual physical and after we got there in December we were told "oops, your provider had to leave early... did nobody call you?. My husband looked through his voicemails - nothing. He later saw a missed call. He is on meetings all day. Who on earth leaves a missed call without a voicemail? They were barely apologetic that we showed up there and wasted our time. Since we were there, we asked to fill out the forms and the front desk girl said that would be a good idea to save us time next visit. Fast forward to 2023, we showed up 12 minutes late to our appointment (yes, we are at fault for that). But most offices have a grace period. And, you'd think they'd show us some consideration since they cancelled our appointment without telling us last time. But.. no. The girl at the front tells us to fill out the forms. I say we already did it not even 2 weeks ago. She then says "I'm sorry but you filled out the 2022 forms, we have a new form so it's policy you fill it out again". WTF? Why did we just spend 15 minutes filling them out last visit? Then the front desk girl tells me that since we are late we will either have to reschedule or wait 1 hour to see the provider. This is to see a PA. We were under 15 minutes late. This office is completely disorganized and chaotic. If this is how they treat people who are there for an annual physical, I can't imagine how they treat people who are there for an actual medical problem. read more

In this day and age of treating people like numbers, Suzanne listens, offers solutions that are customized to the situation, and doesn't follow the cow trail of today's commoditized medicine. My experience with this urgent care facility was great, mainly because of the help that the physicians assistant, Dan Heaney, provided. I had a wound on my right leg. He cleaned and treated the wound and prescribed antibiotics for me. Over and above that I was able to communicate with him for several weeks about the situation of the wound. I would send him photos of the wound and he would provide additional advice about treatment. He also gave me a referral to the wound care center at the San Ramon Regional Medical Center. read more

I've been a patient here for 20 years. The front office staff has become abysmal. So rude to the patients that it's actually alarming. They're in the Health Field and deal with people who have real medical concerns and ailments. They simply don't seem to care. I called with a painful protrusion in my Throat and had trouble swallowing. They couldn't see me for 3 days....which is okay I suppose, but the way the Receptionist (MaraLee, I believe was her name?) was so condescending and rude, then hung up on me without even confirming the apt date or time. I had to call back. They do not even pretend to care or try to be cordial on the phone. She did offer an Apt with Susan the PA, but as other people have reviewed here, she simply does not seem to care how you are feeling and is so very dismissive toward you when you are trying to explain how you are feeling that you end up just walking away feeling like you're stupid or crazy- or both. I saw her for extreme fatigue and painful joints, headaches, amongst other things that kept me in bed with two small kids at home and she actually told me "You're just depressed. Dysfunction office, irresponsible staff. I made an appointment back in February for mid-July, for my first visit with one of their MDs (we switched from Kaiser). In the interim I saw one of their PAs (who forgot to subsequently call my prescription into the pharmacy). Fast forward several months, yesterday I called their office to verify the time and date of my upcoming appointment, I was told that I didn't have one. I am positive I scheduled an appointment for my physical, so it's really rather bizarre. I then requested a practice manger to call me back - no one did. I've never had an experience this bad in healthcare. Usually patients are treated with respect and appointments don't just disappear off the calendar... Needless to say, I'm not going back. They lost a patient and additional referrals I would've made. (I'm a local physician). I hope someone from Blackhawk medical sees this and takes steps to remedy the problem. read more

Went in for my first appointment and physical to see Dr. Shah. Lousy bedside manner followed by complete lack of follow up and poor communication left me waiting in a pharmacy for nearly three hours. Physical exam was a joke. Referrals to specialists were basically a stack of print outs with no context given. Based on the pharmaceutical sales rep waiting in the lobby and the high volume of people moving through - I'm guessing this is one of those doc in the box scams. Definitely no credible doctors would work here. I'd recommend going to a real doctor if you need more than to have your feet tickled and ears examined. Allison was highly responsive, informative, compassionate, and effective... way beyond expectations! This review is based on the experience with Janet (or Janice), the person who does the medical prior authorizations. She shows a lack of follow through and when speaking to her she is very condescending and defensive. When dealing with people who are ill and nervous for procedural outcomes, it is important to be professional and compassionate. These are two qualities she lacks. The doctors in this clinic are great as are some of their mid levels. It is a very very busy office and things fall through the the cracks. As great as the clinicians are, it is people like Janet and her shortcomings that can give a practice a bad reputation and compromise patient care. read more

She was patient, asked lots of questions, took the time to understand my concerns and ordered the necessary tests. I remember being incredibly uncomfortable because rather than listening to my concern she begin to make her own opinions and judgments. And she continued to do that throughout the whole visit. I'm so confused! Last year had a physical, had a blood test before the exam and then at the exam the doctor went over the results, explained the numbers. Meridian is very aggressive when you push back with her on what's right I wasn't sure if she was really the personal I should have been speaking to with the way she argued with me and after saying " well what do you want ". During my last appointment I got vaccinated for yellow fever (going to Peru in August) and a couple days after noticed a little bruising (normal) but then the area around the injection started to get red and irritated. I dropped by the office in the AM and the receptionist notified the PA, Susanne Goeb who saw me within 5 mins. Very pleased that I was seen so quickly at such short notice. Susanne was very pleasant. Also, stopped by the drop in clinic last week because I got bit by a bug in San Luis Obispo over the weekend. My left hand started to swell up. I was in and out in 15mins, this was excellent. The PA, Erin Thurman was just as attentive as Dr. Roberts and Susanne. Must say, I haven't been drawn on with a ballpoint pen and sharpie so often :P (this was to outline where the swelling occurred and to make sure it didn't spread). Level of care is substandard. When you call to get test results, plan on it taking at least a week before anyone calls you back and then be prepared to get yelled at because you complained so that you would get a call back. Also, when you call be prepared to wait on hold at least 30 minutes and then be asked to leave your name/number so they maybe call you back the next day. read more

If it was possible to give zero stars this group would deserve it. It is never ok to leave a patient connected to EKG for an hour and 45 minutes without checking back with them. My wonderful General Practitioner; Dr. Reginato asked Aimee B. to help me with a referral to a specialist, but unfortunately there was a problem with my brand-new insurance. Aimee promptly contacted me and she made several expert suggestions on how to resolve it. I expected to be able to fix the problem with my insurance quickly, but my expectations were not to be.... I caught food poisoning and couldn't return Aimee's call. At this point, many support folks would just drop the ball, but I'm glad to say that Aimee was more professional than that! She regularly reached out to me (both email and phone) and she gently offered her assistance. Because of Aimee's support; when I recovered, I knew exactly what I needed to do. After I obtained the needed information from my insurance provider I sent it to Blackhawk Medical Group via email. Since it was Friday afternoon; I didn't really expect a response until Monday, but almost immediately Aimee returned my message. Without my asking, she cheerfully worked on my referral until it was successfully resolved that day. Aimee has been pleasant, organized and professional throughout and I thought I'd let everyone know how satisfied I was. This really improved my medical experience at a time when I needed it the most. I've been a patient here for over five years and have been meaning to write a Yelp review for just about as long. I have the unique experience of not only being a patient but having also called on them as a pharmaceutical representative years ago (no, I have nothing to gain in writing this review, since I'm no longer working.) But I did learn some things about picking a physician after 25 years in Pharma sales. For me, it's essential to find a provider that stays up to date on the newest medicines and medical literature. I want a doctor that listens and cares. When I need to be seen, I want to call and have the staff do their best to get me in soon instead of in a week. When I need a refill I want a practice that tries their best to get it done asap, even if I should have requested it sooner. I get all of that with this practice. Mind you, I'm polite and don't act demanding and this is the treatment that I get. They also have a walk-in clinic, across the street, for after hours or for when you need to be seen right away and don't have an appointment. So if you're looking for a good primary care practice, I highly recommend them. Dr. Humphrey is my doctor and I can't say enough good things about him, but I'm also very comfortable seeing any of the other providers, since they're all really good. read more

My husband and I became dr Humphry's patients 23 years ago when they had just opened their private practice in black hawk . The first few years his patient care was excellent until few years ago where they had so many patients that they wouldn't have time to answer the calls ! This place has become a business factory and patient care is the worst that I had seen.
