I came in at 4 on my last visit and was asked to come back at 5 for a fill and pedicure. By 6:15, dyeing my very long pedicure process-- when I asked why no one has started my nails, I was yelled at then ignored while I watched them take new walk ins and pretend they had "appointments". By virtue of the fact I was asked to come back at 5, didn't I have one as well? Another patron noticed this and also mentioned it had happened to her there. The manager ignored it and pretended not to notice. The whole vibe of the staff is that they are basically doing you a favor. Please. Nothing could be further from the truth. The work is barely acceptable -- but it's close to home. I finally directly asked the manager why I was forced to wait and she fed me something about being short staffed. However, I later watched yet another patron get both hands and feet serviced at once, so I have no idea. I will say there is one man there who does an okay job, but to my sadness he was absent that day. Thus, I had to settle for whomever I got. She was nice enough, but her talent was limited -- to put it nicely. My fill looks worse than my original new growth. She didn't even remove the lifting product first. All bad. I'll need to remove these by the end of the week to protect the integrity of my nails. Oh and remember I arrived at 4 -- I left at 7:50. So much for an early drop in. I came here consistently for such a long time but they keep "selling" the place to new owners. It went from Ruby Nails, to Lilac Nails, to now Glow Nails in an insanely short timeframe. I stopped coming here months ago when Lilit and Juli left and I made the HUGE mistake of coming in today for an emergency mani/pedi. They have only one person here and neither one of us speak each other's language. She doesn't speak English and I don't speak Armenian/Russian. I did not receive anything I asked for since no one else is here to help. I asked for my gel x to be removed so that I can get a fresh new gel manicure. They were not removed. I asked for a specific design. I definitely did not receive said design. Not even close. I asked for a specific color from the color book handed to me for my pedicure only for it not to be available, but I suspect the young lady helping me just couldn't find it tbh. Important to mention that during the pedicure I literally had to levitate my legs in the air because the foot stool wasn't staying when i placed the weight of my foot on it, which made it slide back every two seconds. She tried to hold it with her knees and pushed it back constantly so it would stay in place and stop sliding but yeah obviously that didn't work. I'm not kidding when I say my thighs and lower abs are gonna be sore because of it. She kept putting the blue light machine right on the toes, too, which would mess up the polish. She had to start over several times. You read that right. Start over. Several times. I am the most patient person in the world and this will not matter to me a year from now so I did not make an extra effort to get mad and stop her (as if I could magically start speaking Armenian/Russian anyway). This is by far the worst nail salon experience i've ever had. The young lady was so sweet but she has NO business being here by herself with no help and no way to communicate effectively with clients. To her credit, she attempted to use Google translate but none of it made sense. It was getting completely lost in translation. All in all it took 3 hours to finish my services and it was a disaster every second of it. It then took an additional 15 minutes to make my payment because she was on the phone with the owner (I presume) to get help with accepting my form of payment. Some people just don't deserve a business-- a good business person would not allow this to happen. How is this going to be sustainable in client retention? It just feels like a cash grab for these people, no type of passion for the business aside from money and it shows.

I called in a day ahead and made an appointment (which I would recommend). I got there 20 minutes early and was lucky to be taken by the only male technician there (when I called and asked for him they said he was booked). I was only waiting in the seating area for 4 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and when I wanted to respond to one of the other workers, the male technician translated everything so I was able to understand everyone. I got a full set of acrylics, stiletto, long, gel, and sparkles, for only $38. I couldn't believe it. He was very gentle with my hands and used the metal spinning file delicately. He took extra time to make sure everything was even. He caught me admiring my nails a few times and asked me each time if they were okay or if I wanted him to fix anything. I really appreciated that. He made the nails nice and strong but not too thick. I walked out of the salon happy, pain-free, and absolutely satisfied with my new set. Instead of trying to help, she told me, "I'm not a machine." I then asked if she was saying she couldn't fix them, and she replied, "No, I'll just give you your money back." What I don't understand is how someone who specializes in doing acrylic nails could think this was acceptable work. I wasn't expecting perfection, but I did expect my acrylic nails to be applied evenly and with care. It wasn't just the quality of the nails that disappointed me--it was the way I was treated.
