I have never tinted my windows on any of my cars that I owned. This was my first time. I found Blackout Tint through Yelp. I looked at other car tint places but they seemed okay. This place looked legitimate. I didn't really call around to other places for estimates. I just saw the ratings of this establishment and thought I would give Mike a try. I came in on Tuesday got an estimate, he showed me the options for the tints. I made my appointment for Thursday. I dropped my car off and he called me when it was ready. In and out 1.5 hours. I held back on having the two front windows of my truck tinted since purchasing it over a year ago because of my schedule, but I found time last month to make it happen. After considering a few options, Rashmi V.'s review had me sold. Setting things up could not be easier. I called Mike and asked to set up a 10am appointment on a Monday late last month. Just give him the year, model and make of your ride, the number of windows you need tinted, and the type of film you want and Mike will give you an estimate for the job. Long story short, I waited about an hour for him to tint the front driver and passenger side windows; that was actually far quicker than I expected. I was charged a very fair and reasonable price, especially considering the quality. There are plenty of places to get your windows tinted, but Blackout is among the best out there. When Yelp works, it works well! I found this tint shop through Yelp and sure enough, I am very pleased I brought this guy my business. I called around 9AM, stating the type of vehicle I have and my need to be out of there by noon. Mike (the owner/tinter) told me he'd need at least 2 and a half hours and would rather not do the work if he had to rush it. That sounded fair to me, so I reworked my schedule and brought in the car. He was helpful in my choices of tint (lighter or darker) and even provided some knowledgeable tidbits about the laws and such. The 1st vehicle Mike tinted for me was way back in 1994(?). I believe I've had him do about 6 vehicles for me. I've been thrilled with all of them. I still own the truck he tinted back in 2004. The vehicle has always been parked outside in direct sunlight and the tint still looks great after 14 years. He does great work and uses quality window film. Unfortunately as someone else mentioned, sometimes his phone etiquette is not that great and the availability to have work done is not there. I know my scheduling is difficult/sucks, but I'm probably gonna have to go somewhere else to get my current car done. I've been trying to get in for almost a year without success. The guy says... we arent working today. What? Its a wednesday? Ok...whatever. Paid another place. Just picked up a BMW X3. Drove by this place again (close to my house)..... AGAIN?? Gate is closed. My family and I have been going here since 2006. We've had Mike re-move tint and add tint over the years totaling about 8 cars. Mike is always fair and does a really, really good job. (If you not happy bring it back and he'll fix it!) I refer him when ever I get a chance. Prices I've been Quoted: Removal of Tint on Front Windows Only:$20 Only Once was I charged $50 for removal of tint because the car had racing tint so it had been layered. It took him a little over 2 1/2 hours to get it all off. Front 2 Windows (Only):$50 - $60 depending on size Back 2 Side Windows and Back Window: $90 If you do all 5 Windows: $120 save $30 Remember: Size of window on car will make a difference. (None of our cars were trucks) P.S. None of our cars has yet to get those ugly cheap-ass looking bubbles that occurs when someone doesn't use the right materials or when someone did a poor job or just flat out didn't know what they were doing. You get what you pay for. Also, he'll remind you when you're thinking about doing an illegal tint that may land you back with him to remove it. He'll do the work but he will warn you when it gets too dark. read more

He was booked but told me that he would call me in the event someone canceled their appointment. Lucky for me Mike called me and told me that I could swing by earlier due to a cancellation. I went yesterday around 4pm just to find out they were fully booked. A walk-in might be out of the question if a place that has 5 stars being highly rated would actually be busy. I made an appointment for Friday, but he called me back at let me me know I could do it today (Wednesday) at 930am. I went down and he let me know between 4 (or 5 types, can't remember) types of different tinting to let me know what is legal and what is illegal to the state of California. It was informative that they could go as dark as limo dark for the back windows and only a slightly tint in the front for the front for legal purposes. Now, while buying a car I was offered tinting to the my car which was pretty expensive. A friend of mine told me that was way out there. So I talked to these guys and they gave me a fraction for what the dealership was offering. It took approximately an hour and a half. They let me know what I need to know before I could enjoy the tint. I was driving off by 1115am. read more
