I walked into Carlos's shop unannounced and without an appointment. I had a tinted replacement rear window on my 2019 VW Golf that began to bubble.and I wanted it removed. I had heard good things about the shop and that he did excellent tinting and had very reasonable prices. He spent about 45 minutes removing the old tinting, did it with kindness and without an appointment and did it well. There are a million tint shops in the area, DO NOT PICK THIS ONE. The guy was rude from the jump and quoted me higher than other shops, but I lived across the street so decided to go anyways. When I went to pick my car up I noticed the defroster strips were patchy and you could only see little pieces of them. He said that is normal and it will fix itself once it dries. Sure enough it didn't so I called him back on a Tuesday he gave me attitude and said "call back next week". After getting the run around he finally told me to bring my car in. He said "I will try to fix this and make it 100% but no promises" .. ??? Sounded off but I tried to stay in good faith. When I came back all visibility of the defroster strips were gone (most tint jobs you can see the orange strips through the tint). I noticed the tint was all scratched up across the entire window. He said I brought my car in like that LOL finally he said OK give me the receipt I'll give you a refund. And the whole time im waiting for it to process he's talking to me like im his wife "you have an excuse for everything.." " this is crazy" " it's always something" .. crazy that I payed for a tint job and wanted it done right the last thing he said as I was leaving was "it looks better than when you brought it in" .. ??? Looks better lmfao I payed for a complete job not to "look better than before". Now I have to waste my time heading to another shop to get it done correctly. After buying my new car, I was very impatient to get the windows tinted. I wanted 3M products (which most tinting places won't offer, and certainly aren't 3M certified). 3M has the best tinting out there (I spent two years in the vinyl business). I called West Coast Tinting, and they took me immediately. They got the job done in less than 2 hours, and even let me use their charger for my phone, because I had let it run down. These guys go above and beyond for their customers and they do a fantastic job. I bought the 3M Crystalline (not many places carry this, as it's the top of the line), and love it! I was going to go with the regular 3M tinting, but after they showed me how much this film blocks the heat (not to mention 99% of UV), I was sold. Their work has a guarantee, and my films have a 3M warranty for life! (So, if I move, and have issues, 3M pays an authorized dealer to fix it--any authorized dealer...so it pays to go to an authorized dealer.) I posted some photos of my car. I love how you can see clearly through the film (see pix from inside looking out) and how the films go from a sort of clear glaze finish (on the clear film) to darker shade as you move around the car. The darker shade film looks much darker from outside than it is from the inside (see the photo taken in the rear view mirror). The darkest shade of Crystalline is only 20%, but it does the job (back window and rear side windows). The clear film looks like stock tinting, but has a nice clean, custom looking finish. The car looks classy--even better than I'd expected--and certainly far better than traditional film. This film is supposed to keep your car cooler (a plus on these crazy-hot days), and protect the interior from UV sun damage. From what I've read on the film (reviews online), it does indeed do that job. I look forward to that! :) Totally recommended! read more
