    Fatty Beef Soup with Noodles
    Deborah O.

I'm confused as to why this place got such a low rating. I almost didn't go but I'm glad I did. I loved my food, talk about flavor! I got the Fatty Beef Soup last night and refrigerated it and had it today and it was still perfect! The lady at the front desk was able to communicate with me clearly and my order was her recommendation, I wanted pork belly but she said fatty beef was her favorite, I added eggs and chicken to it so I could have more protein and eat less of the noodles and I had my personalized meal. I'll be back next time I'm in town to try something else. This might be the best thing I ate on this trip.

This place has amazing authentic real Ramen. It's so flavorful shop full of seaweed and beef and mushrooms bamboo. I got the stirfry noodles with shrimp as well it was really good except for it came with a lot of potatoes in it, I've never really had potatoes and my Japanese food before and I don't eat very much potatoes but the Ramen was amazing.

super confused by the low ratings because the food was SO good! Noodles were soft and delicious, pork belly was tender and super flavorful highly recommend, can't wait to try more menu items!

We got the fried noodle dish, dumpling noodle soup and shumai - all absolutely delicious!! The restaurant is taking good precautions to keep themselves and others safe during this pandemic and their staff is very friendly and helpful! They gave us some great suggestions on what to try since we had never been there before. We look forward to going back again!

Hand stretched noodles! Need I say more? Actually I have to or Yelp turns your review into a tip. I visit Blacksburg a few times each year and I'm a variety guy so this trip I searched for some new eateries and found No. 1. It's a great find the menu is very well executed and the portion sized was immense all while keeping the price low. This is a seat yourself order at the counter place the lady was helpful but young and inexperienced so her description of the dishes was inaccurate. I enjoyed my pan fried beef noodles non the less however I didn't eat most of the weirdly jerky like beef disc thingys. I also orders an appetizer which cane a few minutes after my entree. You see you order at the counter and they call your number given on your receipt so you can run up and grab it. They also serve everything in take out foam boxes. This is a turn off but a clever move because you are going to need a takeout box anyway. Overall the food was good (except the beef) the place is kind of cute, definitely roomy, and costs were low.

I had heard some good reviews about this place when it first opened so I definitely had to drop by and try it. Sadly to say I was pretty disappointed in how things ended up. First off, theres no service here, which is fine but I really couldn't tell by just walking through the door so that should be more explicit. Essentially the process is grabbing a menu at the front, ordering and then waiting for them to call your number. If you choose to eat in, then you just seat yourself, and you throw the away what's left and the box in the designated trash can. I ordered the soup dumplings and beef noodles to go. The soup dumplings were okay. The beef noodles had almost no flavor to it and the beef was extremely chewy. I also thought it was little pricey for how it ended up tasting. Theres also a language barrier with the cashier I had, which is not a problem for me however the owner had come out and gotten slightly aggressive and rude with me for not being able to understand everything the cashier was saying. I don't blame the cashier at all and was doing my best to understand, but the owner could've been more polite about it as opposed to being rude towards the customer. Maybe I just had a bad experience overall. I like to give places a second chance so I will be coming back and then updating my review if it goes a lot better. So as of right now, "service" was pretty poor and the food was not that good at all, pretty so-so in my opinion.

    "Chinese Donut"

This was supposed to be their "Chinese donut" I understand if they ran out. They could've simply cancel the order and let me know. Instead they gave fried/oily red bean buns doused in sugar. It was also less than the specified original quantity of 10. I'm extremely disappointed especially waiting an hour.

Omg yas! Finally Blacksburg has some proper hand pulled noodles! This is so good! They have dim sum as well and some amazing rice dishes like authentic pork belly braised rice! I love their noodle soup and I also love their pan fried noodles. It's not the healthiest place in the world but when you need some authentic Chinese omg yas go here. Their noodles are so good! And they have cute piggy dim sum buns for your Instagram pictures :)

We stopped in Blacksburg for an overnight stay and I was desperate for something to eat that wasn't from a bag at that point of the evening. If you know me, you know I'm always in the mood for Chinese food and if it's Sichuan, I'm at absurd levels of contentment. Spicity is a swell little spot in a strip mall and has plenty of seating. With it being right after New Years and at the end of winter break, it was very quiet and blissfully empty (I'd had enough of holiday crowds), as was literally every other restaurant we passed in town. It's spacious, has plenty of seating and has a pleasant atmosphere, if a little bright for my liking. Not that I cared because dry pot is on the menu! I started with a tofu ribbon app that is absolutely delicious (not spicy to me, but I think it had a little chili oil). And the cabbage hot pot, which I ordered extra spicy and they delivered! The bits of tofu skin made it even better. While I wasn't a huge fan of it being overwhelmed by bell peppers, I feel like it's one of those things I'd be able to adjust if I came back (perhaps next year?) They get major bonus points for being open late, too. Looks like delivery is until 9 but the restaurant is open til 11 on Fri/Sat, 10 on Sundays and 10:30 all other nights. Driving through so many small college towns, I'm seeing so many places that are only open until 8:30 or 9.

I'm a second generation Chinese-American and my Chinese isn't quite at the level of native speakers. I still always try to speak Chinese whenever I'm at a Chinese restaurant. However, I felt ridiculed by the lady running the cash register - who went out of her way to mention how poor my Chinese is. I brushed that off and still ordered my food. My friend and I ate-in, and there weren't any other people at the restaurant. The food was average. I found the dumplings to be very ordinary and quite small.
