Honestly didn't plan on ending up here, but there wasn't much open at 10 PM on a Sunday evening. I know a lot of people come here for late night drunk food, but I decided to give it a try with my family. First of all, we're Chinese, so we ordered off of the Chinese menu instead of the English one, which has much more authentic dishes. The food was very good! My only issue was the ambiance- there were a ton of bugs in the restaurant because of the lights just outside the restaurant on the ceiling of the strip mall. The plaza is also quite sus at night. This is my family's favorite place to order Chinese takeout. My mom and dad have been eating here for decades. It is by far the best, most reliable place in town to get Americanized Chinese food. Their menu has just about everything you can think of and the portions are quite large. You can never go wrong with their dumplings, steamed or fried. We also really enjoy their General Tso chicken, mai fun, and various other dishes. Ordering is super simple and you can place an order there, online, or over the phone. The restaurant gives that "hole in the wall" kind of vibe. That being said, we never dine in, we always order takeout. I would 100% recommend ordering takeout from here. Rarely do I hand out praise. It has been my experience following COVID customer service in the restaurant industry had declined. I recently had an issue with an order and called to complain to the manager. The man I spoke with went above and beyond to correct my order and replaced my order with no issue. This manager went a step further and ask for the food in question returned so he could examine it and take corrective action. The food I received was good and he had my order boxed and ready when I arrived. No business gets every transaction perfect. This place has terrible service, I waited 30 mins for my food (ordered 2 things) and literally everyone who ordered after me got their food before me. I had to go up and ask to finally get my food. These dumplings are actually nasty and I swear they use crescent rolls for the outside I saw them opening those dough cylinders. Definitely fits the bill when you need a chinese food fill. The portions were very large for the price, and I was able to split it into two meals easily. The flavor did not disappoint. The interior is pretty small and low key, but it's great for takeout. I walked in and ordered to-go, and I didn't wait more than 5-10 minutes. It's by far the worst Chinese food in Blacksburg, which is saying something, because Blacksburg Chinese restaurants are all very bad. You don't want this food. I ordered food tonight and 30 minutes later they called to tell me they no longer deliver to my address, that there must have been a glitch in the system. Then they offered me a refund which I now have to wait 2-3 days for the bank to release back to my card. This is a huge inconvenience and completely unprofessional. I got shocked while I see water container and some rice. There was no food inside it. I report it to door dash and they gave refund to me. This place may have good price and offers, but DON'T be fooled. I ordered $20+ worth of food and I felt like a pig after eating their food. I simply threw away most of it away because it was disgusting and inedible and also had very bad indigestion afterwards. Especially the chickens are very hard and stretchy, and when I see what it really is, there is barely any meat and it feels like few months old stuff fried and sauced like shown on picture. McDonald chicken nugget tastes and looks 1000x better. I also ordered some ribs and they were so old and just felt like clump of oils. Dirty, filthy restaurant interior...with all the children's toys stacked on tables in a corner, it looked like the premises was being lived in. They were hideous. Nasty, overly doughy, and dripping with piping hot grease. Easily a pint of grease in the tray when I cut each dumpling and dumbed the grease out. Sesame chicken was of the worst quality I'd ever seen. Clingy, rubbery feel to it with lots of tendons, not quality cuts of whole chicken breast. I am a Delivery Driver in Blacksburg. I got a delivery order from Chinese Kitchen. I went there for pickup the food. They gave me two only small bags. I got confused because the order should be big. There was 18 items of food around $152. I asked them to double check the item because it's not possible to fit that much food in two small bag. They said we can't double check it, and if you want take it otherwise cancel the order. Then I take the food. While I was on the way to my vehicle I saw the water dripping from the bag. I open the bag to check what happening inside the bag. I saw there are two full container of water and some old rice. I checked another bag too. There also same thing, no food at all. I have attached the picture here for proof. I talked with other delivery driver in our Facebook group. They said that they also found water container in the bag several times. Hate giving negative reviews. 1. Food is horrible 2. I order from them because they are only Chinese restaurant to deliver to where I am...so it's 100% for convenience 3. Takes over 1.5 hours to deliver 4. One time, they left food out. I called and they offered a 20% discount on my next order. Well, they never intended to honor it. Instead, they offered 5% on my next order when I actually ordered and reminded them. Then they gave me the option of just replacing what they didn't deliver the last time. 5. I usually order online. This time dues to the discount, I called in. The prices were much higher online. Claimed the site was not working. But I checked. It was... Summary: delivering missing food, taking 1.5 hours, charging full price, not honoring discount, having inconsistent pricing=sketchy for me. They lost a customer forever. We've been ordering from here for a while, usually at least once a week. I will no longer be ordering from here due to the quality of the food and staff attitude severely going way down. This last time I ordered I specifically asked for soy, chopsticks and also extra beef and got none of the above, which wouldn't have been such a big deal had it not taken almost an hour and a half to even get my order. I've tried making a complaint but they brush it off and act like nothing happened and you can forget about a refund. It was a new blond girl that Inhadnt seen before and she was very rude to me and got my order wrong. She was rude on the phone but I assumed they were just busy and ignored it. I had ordered mongolian beef and she got it wrong and said chicken. She then accused me of saying it wrong when I was with 4 people with the phone on speaker when I ordered and all heard me order correctly. I ordered what is typically my favorite, General Tso's Chicken plate and the spring rolls. The chicken was tough, over breaded, and and tasteless. The batter on the Chicken was doughy as if the oil was not hot enough when it went in. The plate came with a side of "pork fried rice". I did not find any pork in the rice, any onions either. Uh... Where to start... I ordered delivery today at like 4 PM, came about a hour later, pretty nice delivery timing. It was in a big paper bag, similar to what they do in NOVA, everything is good from there. Btw, I try out many, MANY Chinese restaurants here and there, wherever I go. Ordered 'Shrimp with Lobster Sauce', 'Fried Chicken Wings', and 'Spring Rolls (3 pcs)'. What destroyed the entire order was easily the 'Shrimp with Lobster Sauce' - the taste is too salty and bland, tasted like mushrooms only since it was overloaded with mushrooms and white floating things. Lobster? Don't even look at me - if it was lobster, they must've put like a very small piece of it inside. It looked like egg drop soup, tasted like a mushroom fiesta, and executed terribly. Fried Chicken Wings... were okay, I suppose. 2-3 star quality itself, a bit too fried. Yeah, I know it's frozen chicken, it's super obvious - but there are restaurants that actually make frozen chicken taste actually decent. This is not one of them. The side of fries were generic, I was okay with it by its looks - until I took a bite into them. How were these fries soggy? How did they end up tasting like wet paper wrapped with really old potatoes? The Spring Rolls were easily the best but they tasted... meh. Crispy on the outside - don't get me wrong, I like that. I moved to Blacksburg in the fall to attend Virginia Tech. Back at home I had a go-to Chinese place, in Blacksburg Chinese Kitchen is my go-to. I usually only go for lunch special which features a main dish, pork fried rice (I usually substitute it for plain white rice), and a soup of your choice (wonton, sweet & sour, or egg drop). All that for only around $5 depending on your main dish. the portions are more than filling and I usually have leftovers. To be completely fair, I hail from the land of homemade Chinese/Vietnamese food and also cheap, good food around town. My husband has come here a few times and loved the food so we stopped by here after I arrived in town. It was during lunch special hour and I impulsively ordered the Shrimp with Cashew Nuts thinking it was like I get back in Seattle. The service was fast and cheap but I knew as soon as I got home that the menu item was the wrong choice. The portion sizes were very large but as expected, I maybe had about 5 shrimps in my entire 9" place of food and rice.
