Our wedding reception was indoors at the Tacoma Museum of Glass and he provided music for the dinner and reception along with dance lighting to make for a great ambiance. DJ Ray will ask you what songs you would like to hear and when. For instance, we provided him a list of songs that we wanted to hear at dinner and during the reception. We didn't have enough songs to fill the entire evening, so he filled in the gaps with plenty of songs that fit the genre and mood. He even was able to obtain our first dance song, which wasn't originally available on his list on his website. He is very good at reading the vibe in the room transitioning from one song to the next. He provided wireless mics for toasts and some MC services as we transitioned between dinner, speeches, and dancing. If you are looking for a DJ that can play the songs you want to hear, fill in the gaps with music that is appropriate for your evening, then I highly recommend DJ Ray. He was extremely easy to work with and very helpful in providing some tips for our wedding day. Very simple and straight forward. Don also did a wonderful job serving as our MC for the night, making announcements as needed and keeping us on time. We are so glad we did! From the start, Adam was on top of things, providing us a multitude of options and just generally feeling out what it was we were looking for. We had ideas, and he helped shaped them, giving advice, and even providing us ceremonial services on top of the reception. We had a couple hours-long planning session about a month out, and he not only went through our playlist and wedding party names for pronunciation, but he also asked us great questions, like what music do our parents like, who are some of our favorite bands not on the playlist, etc., which he helped craft into an unforgettable experience by mixing in songs throughout the day's events, making some truly great remixes and stylistic flourishes that kept people on the dance floor all night long, and so much more. He even worked with us on cutting out the audio in Don't Stop Believin' like they did in the finale of the Sopranos! It was just a pleasure to have a guy like Adam for our event, who takes his work very seriously but does it in such a fun and easy manner. In our planning stages, Ted was thorough, asked several great questions, accommodated a few requests we had without question, and was reassuring that we were approaching our day the right way, but he also wasn't afraid to offer suggestions that broke with what we initially envisioned, and his suggestions were indeed the correct ones, but he kept his suggestions within our vision, which requires a level of detail orientation that we were quite impressed with. We truly believe he cared about our big night going well, almost as much as we did. At the event, Ted was punctual and ready to roll when people started showing up, checked in with not just me and my wife, but several of our family members and friends, and made sure everyone was having a good time. Ted's charismatic, agreeable, funny, and really cares about his craft. I don't think I have a single complaint. Hugh touched base the week of the wedding and we went over all the details in the form. I made most of my own playlists and had specific artists I wanted to hear, and Hugh delivered on all of it. The ceremony music played without a hitch, the cocktail hour/dinner music was exactly me and my husband's taste, and he played songs from my playlist for dancing without straying from what I chose. Everyone at our wedding was dancing and having a great time. On top of all of it, Hugh was great at communicating with the other vendors to make sure everything went according to plan. Can't recommend them enough!
