I cannot say enough wonderful things about Josh! Our experience with him was amazing from the very first phone call. He is so easy to work with, from the first moment we met him he completely put my mind at ease. Josh answered every question we had and was also responsive to any follow-up emails. Josh also has great attention to detail and is extremely professional. He stuck with us through several evolutions of our main songs, and he followed through with all of our music requests and gave us very helpful advice throughout the planning process. He even attended our rehearsal to make sure things on the day would run smoothly! Josh also does a phenomenal job of getting to know the couple and their vibe, and really making the music reflect the couple. The music for the whole day was perfect, he incorporated our preferred songs and artists in all the music on our wedding day from the pre-ceremony music, to the cocktail hour, to the reception. We also had a lot of music on our "likes" playlist that wasn't necessarily dancing music but Josh managed to incorporate all the songs we loved and keep everyone on the dance floor (no small feat!). He also accommodated requests on the day which was so appreciated! Neither of our families are huge dancers, so Josh had his work cut out for him and did a wonderful job of reading the room to play what our guests needed to stay out on the dance floor. Joshua brought great life and flare to my wedding. My wife and I had been talking with him for months about what we want and the details of our wedding. We had made our own playlists with almost three hours of our favorite songs. He did a great job of mixing the songs we wanted to play with many that are a bit more exciting and upbeat. My wife and I don't dance often, so much of our 'Dancing' playlist was a more mellow tempo. I'm glad he changed it up as he did. Many of the dancing songs he played were fun and got us moving and excited. It helped my wife and I to let loose and enjoy dancing many of the family and friends we don't see often. He got us dancing so wild that I didn't realize what song I was dancing to until my brother pointed it out, saying it was 'awesome to see us dancing to that song'. I don't dance like that. If we ever put on a musical event with a dj again, we will choose Joshua. Every other element of our wedding was truly beautiful, but his musical touch, with specific queues, gave the event the oomph that we will remember for the rest of our everlasting love. We recently hired JOPA for our wedding on July 18 at Port Gamble. We were planning our wedding from Nebraska and knew that would come with its own challenges but he did a great job communicating with us and helping to plan it. He met with my mom and sisters and they were able to give him a good idea of what we were looking for on our wedding day. My sisters even wrote a few pages of song ideas that we were hoping would get played during the reception. He was prompt with his replies and easy to communicate with, but we were a little bit disappointed during our reception. First, we checked the box for censored music to be played. Some of the songs we suggested had quite a few curse words, and we were hoping that he would be able to play clean versions of these songs so that our guests would still dance. One of the first songs he played was definitely not censored and my husband had to go up and ask him to change songs because it was blaring the F word over and over again. He then said that he would look and see if he had clean versions of these songs. This was kind of frustrating as we sent him these songs a month in advance so that he would have been prepared for this before the reception. As he was looking for other songs he played quite a few songs that no one at the reception really enjoyed-our dance floor was totally empty. When he met with my mom and sisters he had told them that he really read what the crowd was enjoying and would play/skip songs that people were not into. Eventually later in the night he did start playing more songs that we had placed on our song list and our crowd did enjoy that! Another issue we had during the reception was the volume level. There were multiple instances where myself, my husband, my mom and even my grandma had to go up and ask him to turn it down. He would turn it down for a brief second, but then a few minutes later the volume was right back. I appreciate that he wanted people on the dance floor to enjoy the volume level, but it was way too loud and no one else was able to talk at the reception when it was that loud. Overall, he was very professional we just wish that he had listened to us a little bit more during the reception. read more

As someone involved in the Pacific Northwest music scene for the last 10 years, I can say unequivocally that Josh is the most professional, dependable and versatile DJ I've had the pleasure of working with. I have hired Josh more times than I can count to run sound and lights for me and never been disappointed. He has always had a great setup and recently invested in a top of the line lighting rig. Josh and his equipment are great for local shows, outdoor festivals, weddings, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, you name it. We got married a couple months ago and Josh agreed to DJ for us even though we were getting married at a campground on Lake Cushman. We rented a commercial generator and he set up on the side of a clearing. It was an experience to remember. As it got dark the lights and lasers came on and it was incredible in the trees. The dance floor was full all night and we may have gone a little longer than we were supposed to but it was too much fun to stop. Great experience, very professional. read more
