Cut me off from talking, and then repeatedly acted like I was a "bad" patient because I misunderstood how the 1 inhaler worked (I thought it was a second rescue inhaler instead of a symptom controller). Her exact words were "we in healthcare just make the worst patients- or maybe that's just me!" Insert eye roll here. Every other medication was taken as prescribed when prescribed. But I am a bad patient. They also neglected to include the work note I requested, then when I called they offered to MAIL it to me, or I could, mid-asthma exacerbation, drive back to the practice and pick it up. I asked if they could email it since I am alone, they said they couldn't. So I let loose with a stream of language that wasn't appropriate, but I don't feel bad about it. Stay far away from this practice!!!

First time, he was late, which didn't bother me, but then I suffered because he was rushed. Barely spoke to me, literally felt like I was being tossed out with even more questions than I had to begin with. Second time, I was concerned about an issue and he was literally rolling his eyes at me while typing on his computer. I chose him because in his promo video he spoke about how caring he is, and how he works with his patients to find answers, no matter what it takes. In person, he was non-attentive, non communicative, in a rush, rolling his eyes, it was kind of traumatizing. Now I have to find a new doctor and start all over again. My wife was going to try him out, but we will go elsewhere. Super disappointed. Beyond measure.

Changed insurance to an HMO and had to chose a PCP and get referrals. I am a lung cancer w/ brain…read moremets patient which means I have lots of docs and lots of appointments. Getting referrals from this place was a nightmare - Fikes "didn't know" she had to "close out" a file for the referral to move forward which meant that my oncologist appointment and charge of $16K was not covered. I had to reschedule an MRI appointment and a CT scan as they drug their feet on the referral. Just went to see the neurologist and had to sit in the office for over an hour because while the referral had been approved her office never bothered to forward it. Lastly just emailed her on the portal because the chemo I'm on can affect my thyroid. Oncologist recommended Fikes do a TSH and report back to the Oncologist. Oncologist recommended that my dose be lowered IF FIKES AGREED and Fikes was THE FINAL APPROVAL. Fikes agreed and is the name on file for the medicine yet never scheduled a follow up and didn't list the new dosage on my chart. She called me this morning and basically insisted she wasn't in charge of watching my thyroid, didn't wanted to argue with me and recommended I get a new doc. I was basically fired as a patient. NOW what in the hell to do ? Can't see a new doc without changing with insurance, and if I change insurance voids all current referrals and new docs aren't scheduling new patients until May and I have chemo every 2 weeks. UGH..............welcome to American healthcare...............

However I've been calling the office for the past 4 days now and no one answers the phone and the voice message box is full (of course) it's honestly really frustrating because I want to discuss things with Dr. Liu and making an appointment is already a challenge. Plus every time I see her she seems in rush and always stands by the door ready to leave the room. I'm definitely not a patient there just seems like a number to her. However, she has been very thorough in the past which I appreciate but considering the office and her quality of care is so low in my opinion you can find a more thorough doctor somewhere else.

Despite liking our NP and her nurses, I'll be trying to switch my kids to a different office/base just to avoid having to talk with the front desk ladies at The Schertz Medical Home. The office would be great if those ladies did something non customer service related and were replaced with friendlier (or just decent) staff up front.

There is a bathroom in the waiting room area for patients' convenience. A family member had a kidney problem caused by antibiotics prescribed during hospitalization, and the doctor wanted to check kidney function. She went over labs at the hospital, and one month later; then, she had more labs done to confirm that the kidneys were continuing to heal. I felt that the doctor was thorough with her care.
