Ordered three shirts for my son online. Sent shirts to me. Enclosed a return in exchange form. Disappointed that shirts were extremely thin and nearly transparent and fabric. Color dye wasn't through and through in the strand thread. Sent items back. Company then emailed me and said that they do not take a refund or exchange on the items I purchased. They kept the three shirts I sent to them and did not issue me a refund. Had to dispute claim with PayPal. Then company only refunded me half the amount while still keeping the three shirts. This has been the biggest headache! I would never do business with them. Just want to save everyone trouble. read more

I ordered every 6 months or so. I only ordered once it was a final sale, and i got 40% off, plus free shipping. I would only order from the clearance dept cause i could not afford brand new. I usually paid 3-8.00 for most things. I always got just what i ordered, They were the only store online with nearly all cotton, and blouses were longer & better made for us bigger gals. So about every 6-8 months, i'd get about $100.00 worth of clothing, at rock bottom prices, usually 10-15 pieces. Was shocked when i went to buy today, and its gone out of business. I placed an order on May 11th and a reply that they received my order and would contact me when my order was ready to ship. As of today, May 25th, I have contacted them 6 times by email and was told that they are very busy because of their great spring sale and to allow up to 15 days for my order. Their customer service department didn't answer their phone after I waited for 35 minutes listening to the ringing. This is the first time that I have had this bad experience with Blair. Value of the items paid for has severely been offset by the 20 day delay for shipping. And there is NO ORDER CANCELLATION after payment. Ordered June 6th, acknowledged by email the same day. NO UPDATES about shipping delays. Only after complaining online 12 days later is the answer "sorry our spring sale was bigger than anticipated so we are having trouble getting things shipped". 5 other queries gave the exact same result. I'm not a bit surprised Blair ended up going out of business. Low quality clothing and horrible customer service. They kept sending out catalogs with no indication that they would be going out of business. I had ordered a $45 pair of shoes that did not work for me - when I called about a refund they told me it would be refunded to my debit card - never happened and the next time I called to follow up they had gone out of business. Sneaky, - I wonder how many other people they ripped off before going out of business? Too bad there isn't a class action law suit going on now against them. Worst Shipping and Customer Service Online I used to be a Blair customer while living in the Northeast. After a few years of living in Florida, I tried them again. Their shipping states 5-12 days. Shipping from their warehouse in Pennsylvania to Florida routinely would take 5-7 days. After two full weeks, I hadn't received the items so I contacted them. They responded that they had had a "great" spring of "wonderful" garment sales so they were backed up but my items would be processed "soon". I told them to cancel the order as that would stretch out things for probably another two weeks. "Oh, we can't interrupt processing; we're so sorry for the inconvenience." I told them I'll be refusing delivery so that it costs me nothing to ship back. I also told them "never again will I ever order from Blair." Buyer beware. My credit card company is prepared to cancel the payment. Absolutely inexcusable. What have they got? One person handling shipping? Totally unprofessional. How does a company so inept even survive? I suppose they figure that once you get your order, you forget about the inconvenience. I'm so pissed, I certainly won't forget. read more

I recently requested a catalog for my elderly mother who has bought a lot from Blair in the past. Even though she's still in their data base they refuse to send her a catalog. Mom doesn't have a computer or cell phone (she's 95 years old). She can't see the items on my laptop or phone. I placed half a dozen orders with this company over the past year. Their clothing quality was excellent in the beginning and then it started going downhill. The shirt and a vest that I received last week are very poor quality. So, I wanted to return these products. BTW, Blair allows 60 day return facility. Their return process is from the 19th century. You have to download, print and fill out a form by hand and call them for "prepaid" return label. Then the fine print says "we will deduct $9.99 from the refund". So, with deteriorating product quality and antiquated return policy, I think I am being too generous in giving them 2 stars. I would never buy anything from this company. read more

I placed an order over the phone because Blair's website did not work. The representative messed up and did not verify my address and sent it to my old apartment. I called Blair and they said to call FedEx. I called FedEx and they said Blair the seller had to call because I was not authorized. I called Blair back and the representative said she would call FedEx and did not. Package was delivered to old apartment two days ago. I had to call the leasing office which I should not have had to do. They tried to reach the new residents unsuccessfully which is what I thought would happen and I still don't have the package. read more

The package showed up with two of them and a third bag was mis labeled and in it was a hoodie for a size XXXL, not the XL petite slacks my mom ordered I called customer service for a return authorization and explained that bag had a correct label for the teal slacks but inside was a hoodie. Told them I wanted to retrun it for my mother and not get charged the $ 9.99 for a return that was your mistake Instead my mom was charged for the postage, her credit was not for the cost of the slacks. Customer service rep charged her for their mistake. Here's how the scam works! Over the many years I have ordered a few items from Blair and was left feeling like I got scammed. I one ordered a sport coat (blazer) that looked ok in their picture but the length was only cut down to the waist level. It looked like something the monkey with the accordian would wear. Recently I ordered pants and it was totally missing the metal hook and loop closure on the front of the waist band. There were other problems in the past. I really believe they buy factory seconds from cheap asian manufacturers. As others have stated, the biggest scam is they make the shipping too expensive to make it worth returning. On a $34 item the shipping to me was $16 + another $10 shipping to return it. So I'll get $8 back on a $34 defective item. Scam! read more

This is the site of the Blair corporate headquarters and their company store, and being a mail order clothing company, their only retail store. Blair was one of the world's first mail order companies having been founded by a gentleman who specialized in selling black raincoats to funeral home directors. Today, it's a major employer in the Warren area with this store being its local hallmark. The clothing line is wide ranging from sweaters, sport coats, suits, dresses, shoes and etc., and is generally that of "economical" quality and geared toward the middle age or older groups. Indeed for a while they had Pat Boone, if you're old enough to even remember who he is, for a spokesmen and one of their more faithful customers is reputed to have been Lawrence Welk. However, for what you get, you couldn't ask for a better value for your dollar; call it a good bang for the buck. The store is ultra clean with good displays and a most helpful staff. Also one of the better things is that clothing sold here is, since it is located in Pennsylvania, sold free of any state sales tax. read more

If I could I would give it no stars, not even half of one! Every time I order from here, I have an issue. This is the 3rd and final time. I order for my mom who can't get out as much. Now I will be going elsewhere to get her clothes. This last order was 3 items. I never got an email in regards to it until AFTER it was delivered. And one item was missing. When. I called customer service, I was told a replacement would be sent and I would be refunded and recharged once the replacement was sent and she hung up before I could ask any questions. I returned both pieces and later was refunded $12.40 for what I thought was for one of the shirts I returned as I requested an exchange for the other one. What terrible news that was as I ended up paying 2 cents short of $20.00 for nothing plus my time and gas going to the post office to return the items. Horrible company. I will never purchase anything from them or their company subsidiaries. I purchased 7 ladies tee shirt style tops in the same size. Except for one all fit fine. The one that was the problem was marked the size I ordered but fit almost skin tight. I was told to send it back for a cost of $9.99 and they would either refund me or send me another one which I would have to pay for shipping. The shirt was on sale for $12 which meant I would get a $2 refund. I am keeping the shirt and donating it. And, when I am in a conversation and the subject about clothing comes up I will definitely tell how costly it is and what terrible customer service Blair has. read more

Ordered clothing. Shipping 6-8 days. Its been 13 days now. No news on delivery. Member tracking services are down, phone says California customers press option 1 and the a message plays due to storm are tracking system and customer service is down. earlier when tracking was up, it mentioned the package was delayed due to california wildfires, no fires around where the package was and where i live sent an email and got a reply to contact company you placed order with, we are only a service linking customers to our partners. when I ordered, a coupon for discount popped up, clicking that would ask you for yr email and zip code, on entering you receive email that you are a vip plus member and $14.99 will be charged every month from card you just made purchase with. its A scam.
