***PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE*** My wife spoke highly of this place. So when we switched insurance plans we decided to come here. We called and scheduled our first appointments. Upon arrival I was asked to provide my insurance, Which I provided. My appointment was a simple check up Hers was a teeth cleaning and check up. I was charged a teeth cleaning on my appointment for some reason as well despite not getting one. After our appointments I paid the co-pay based on what my "insurance covered" according to the lady billing me out. I then had future appointments scheduled for some cavities that needed filling for my wife and I about 3-4 months out. Along with the scheduled date, I was given a printout based on what my insurance covers and what I would have to pay after my next appointment. We go to our next appointments get our cavities filled. I head over to the front counter to be billed and get charged an additional $650 for the cavities being filled. I asked why this amount differed significantly from the quote I received. I was told that the quote was incorrect and upon communication with my dental provider, my insurance did not cover as much. I thought it was weird, but paid it anyways. Three months after my appointment, I get a call saying that I owed an additional $750. When I asked why, I was told because "they forgot to tell me that they do not work with Aetna for dental insurance." Pretty convenient on their behalf to wait until after my last appointment. After my first appointment I had recommended this place to a few friends of mine because the staff seemed friendly. This same thing happened to a friend of mine where they were told far after their appointments that they "forgot they did not work with their dental provider." Not sure if this was a simple office mistake on their behalf or if they are running some kind of scam here But to happen to two people in that short of a time frame makes me truly question. Needless to say, I'm at about a year after my last appointment and for the first time in my life, my teeth that were worked on are sensitive to hot and cold. I do not recommend this place there are several other dentists close by that will take better care of you. ***EDIT*** Upon reading more of their reviews it sounds like I wasn't the first person this happened to. read more

I was recommended to this dentist when I moved to town last year. I have always put my dental work on the back burner because I'm not a fan of the dentist. I am thankful to have found this place. I have felt very calm and comfortable every time. I'm forever grateful that I was able to create a trusting relationship with a dentist. It makes my trips so much easier and my anxiety is not sky rocketing. And the receptionist are very kind and make the experience personable. read more

They schedule you for appointments without your knowledge, don't notify you ahead of time, then bill you when you don't show up. When you tell them they made an error, they continue to harass you with past-due notices. Will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I have been going to Blaisdell establishment for 65 years. Dr. Reed Blaisdell was an outstanding dentist, when he retired he turned it over to his son Dr. John Blaisdell, also a very fine dentist. When Dr John retired, Tom Blaisdell took over. There were times I was apprehensive about some things he did or should have done. At my last appointment with him he did not check my teeth, only tried to remove a crown that he had put on temporarily. There was a tooth he had worked on that did not feel right but he left the room before I could ask him about it. Another tooth adjacent to this tooth that he worked on twice became broken. At this point I went to another dentist. The new dentist said he thought the one tooth was dead so he did some testing and it is indeed dead. In the X-ray the other tooth appears to have what looks like a toothpick. Both the dentist and hygienist questioned this. Because of all the damage that was done I have to decide whether to have a bridge, a root canal, or a dental implant, or two of the procedures costing me thousands of uneccessary expense that never should have happened. I received an email from Tom Blaisdell of an upcoming appointment for myself and my two sons, I did not confirm the appointment because I was under no obligation or contract. Now Blaisdell is sending me a bill for the missed appointments and has threatened to send it to collections. I say go ahead, you're not getting another penny out of me. read more

Dr. Tom and his team make it a pleasure to visit the dentist! I have never experienced such a warm welcome at the dentist's office or in any other health care setting for that matter. I have especially never had a provider sit down next to me as a new patient and just listen. Dr. Tom did just that. He listened intently to my concerns, asked questions, and then addressed each issue individually. I did not feel rushed and I most certainly sensed that he truly cares about his patients. This is a young man who takes pride in his practice, his profession, and his community. He is extremely confident and knowledgeable as well. Did I mention the personal follow up call to thank me for coming in and to again express that it was nice to meet me? 5 stars for genuine kindness alone! If you have any dental anxiety, these are your people. They were compassionate, gentle and patient. Dentist prescribed some meds ahead of time and made the procedure much more tolerable and I left without pain or an anxiety hangover. I highly recommend. read more

Now I'm a guy that is familiar with Blaisdell Dental. I am now on my third generation of these fine professionals. For over 60 years it's only been a Blaisdell performing their dental expertise on me. For the 8 years I lived in Hermiston, OR, I would still plan all my dental work with the Blaisdell's. As I've grown older, I have had a few instances where I needed an immediate appointment and they always accommodate. Friendly, professional and very proficient. I needed an immediate exam for upcoming joint surgery. I was given a same day appointment. Very friendly staff. I was very impressed with Dr. Tom Blaisdell as he was very knowledgeable about some specialized care and treatment I had received at OHSU in Oregon. He will be our dentist for both myself and my husband. Side note, he does denture work, not all dentists in the Treasure Valley will follow up what was done someplace else. From the front desk, to our technician Erika, to the doctor himself, our entire experience here was wonderful. We never thought we would find a dentist office that was equal to our old one, but this office has equaled and surpassed our old office in many ways. Yesterday, when we drove in to the parking lot for our appointment, the doctor was out there, in person, shoveling snow off the sidewalk and parking lot for his clients. We love coming here. The whole staff always makes us feel comfortable from the time we walk in until the time we leave. Dr. Tom is a kind, caring and patient dentist. I for one have great anxiety when going to the dentist even for a cleaning and Dr. Tom makes my visit a lot less stressful. To begin with, I am a new resident to Caldwell, so upon moving across the country, I did not have a dentist in the area. Upon googling and checking out the website for Blaisdell Dental Center, I felt immensely that their dental office was the place for me. I made my first appointment and was very nervous when I arrived, as I have always had anxiety upon being in new environments. I was greeted by Veronica at the front desk who greets every patient with a smile! I didn't wait very long.. maybe 5-10 minutes and I was then called back for my exam. Upon my exam, I learned I needed a filling and then a wisdom tooth extraction. A week later I went back for a routine cleaning. The dental hygienist was able to answer any questions I had and was very knowledgeable and thorough in the cleaning of my teeth. Her name was Anna! Anna also helped reassure my anxieties and concerns of the upcoming wisdom tooth extraction which is 5 weeks away. Dr. Blaisdell came in to check and ask my concerns about the upcoming procedure and throughly explained how he would fill my cavity, as well as explain the process of extracting the wisdom teeth, and options for numbing and anesthesia if that route is decided for your particular situation. He made sure I knew that he was always available for phone calls if I had more questions or concerns prior to the extraction. He also explained the side effects after the extraction and how I may feel. Dr. Blaisdell and his staff have made me feel comfortable in their office and confident, that I am in good hands while I am there for any dental care. All of the staff at Blaisdell Dental Center, are knowledgeable and kind. It is the best experience I have had at any dental center. I would recommend, definitely a 10/10. The dental office is very clean and modernly decorated. And upon my first visit Dr. Blaisdell asked how I had been treated so far while being in his office. He cares about the quality or care his patients receive, and about addressing your concerns. Everyone is also very knowledgeable about the financial process, and paying for your dental work. I am usually terrified of the dentist, seriously to the point of crying. I went to Blaisdell because that's where my husband goes and I have to say I am amazed at how this dentist and his staff treated me and reassured me. I left there my first visit with an appointment to come back for a root canal . Now this was again terrifying for me, but today I got it done and perfect no pain no discomfort.... again just amazed Dr Blaisdell is truly amazing he has changed my mind about the dentist for sure! I trust him and his staff! I look forward to getting my cleanings and getting my teeth back to tip top shape! We recently moved to Caldwell from Alaska and needed to establish contact with a dentist in the area. Based on Yelp reviews, I called Blaisdell Dental Center and was surprised at how quickly they got me in (next day). I needed a cleaning and exam and all went well. Both the hygienist and Dr Tom Blaisdell were very knowledgeable and complete in their work. They compared very well with my former dentist in AK whom we hated to leave. I've scheduled my next visit in 6 months so we'll see. read more

Nothing like popping off a veneer on a Monday morning, right before Thanksgiving. Being brand new to the area, I had yet to establish a dentist for my family. This little veneer incident forced me to speed the process along. After looking through my options on Yelp, I gave Dr. Blaisdell's office a call. I was greeted by a friendly voice who commiserated with me on my little veneer situation. They were able to get me scheduled that morning which was fantastic considering a toothless holiday is no fun. So first off Dr. Blaisdell was great! I absolutely hate going to the dentist and he made me feel extremely comfortable and always made sure I was doing ok throughout the exam. The only issue I have is with the front desk staff. I was not greeted when I came in, no smile, just asked me my name and handed me a clipboard. Before I even went back I had decided that I was not impressed and would probably be going elsewhere but thankfully Dr. Blaisdell made up for his front desk's lack of friendliness! read more

I had a root canal done here and had a wonderful experience. I was very comfortable throughout the whole procedure. I was a little anxious and nervous for the shot but they offered me the laughing gas which made everything go very smooth.
